Cabbie's fare drinking beer, refuses to exit the vehicle

By Billie Owens

So a cab driver's fare decides to drink a beer in the back seat on his way to wherever and the cabbie says get out. The guy refuses. The driver calls the cops, who are about to roll up on the taxi, which is roadside with its four-ways on. Didn't hear the location.

Yea reading this may seem a little off, but their was more to it, sadly I cannot go into to much details but when an already inebriated person starts swigging vodka in the back seat after being told on more then one occasion and then he/she gets angry with the driver my experiences tells me to let the authority's step in. Their is no need for an altercation to be started. So saddly Batavia's finest was called into action. But was settled with out arrest. :)

I don't think it seems off at all, Philip. The driver did exactly what he should have and I would've done the same thing. The passenger must be a real piece of work.

I've driven a cab when my wife and I were living on Long Island, and this driver did exactly what he should have done.

There isn't any kind of training for cab drivers, but common sense should always prevail especially when dealing with drunks.
