SCOPE members lobby in Albany to repeal SAFE Act

By Howard B. Owens

Press release and photo from SCOPE:

On Tuesday, every SCOPE chapter and committee sent a delegation to Albany to meet with senators and assemblymen. A delegation left Le Roy at 4 a.m. with SCOPE members representing Genesee, Orleans and Niagara counties. Some of the issues that were discussed in those meetings included: Full repeal of the SAFE Act; defunding of the SAFE Act; and uniform pistol licensing requirements across New York State with no additional restrictions added by the local licensing.

Nice picture... sort of reminiscent of a small company photo. with the boss surrounded by his subordinates and some of their family members.

So what got accomplished? Reassuring Assemblyman Hawley that he has their support even though he has done nothing to effectively fight NYSAFE [except vote to pass the Budget the previous two years which provided millions of dollars to fund the SAFE Act].

It's kinda interesting that just today, Assemblyman Nojay talked on his daily radio broadcast about the 2nd Amendment group rallies, how after the first 3 or 4 they became repetitive and offer nothing new, and that the movement needs to get serious about the political actions needed, just as the teacher's union has long done.

Katie Couric.

Nothing much, really, to do with NYSAFE, or SCOPE. But, I found this article to be quite interesting. http://thefederalist.com/2016/06/03/katie-courics-anti-gun-producers-re…

Supposedly, the producer of the Katie Couric show (or underlings of that producer - on HER orders) broke multiple federal laws in the obtaining of firearms.

It will be interesting to see if anyone is charged, AND CONVICTED, of those alleged felonies. I'm gonna go out on a limb and guess that whatever judge finds this issue before them dismisses it, under the guise of "for the greater good of the public".

That is, if it ever even goes before a court. My real guess is that the media will stifle this whole issue. Will just have to wait and see.
