I voted for Oprah. Hillary is the one on the list that I most admire, but nationwide, Oprah takes it.

Sarah Palin is a quitter, she didn't resign her job as Governor because she had been elected to/appointed something else, she just didn't want to be Governor because she wanted to pursue being a media star. I wonder, if she's elected President and she is defeated or decides not to run, will she resign that position early as well?

If you are a Republican, there are many other actually qualified candidates to consider.

You really gotta admire Oprah. I'm not a fan of her show or daytime talk TV for that matter. However she came from nothing, completely took over her genre and wields considerable influence all over the world. She has also donated both money and time to numerous charities. She is a true "American Success Story". Love or hate her or feel ambivalent (like me) you still gotta admire her.

I'll agree Sarah is a quitter if you concede Hillary is as well. I mean, she runs and campaigns for the Senate, stating she has no intentions of running for President, and there she is doing just that fairly soon after re-election, and giving her constituents less than they deserved as far as commitment to NYS. I'd be more upset about something that actually affects me rather than something happening on the other side of the country(world?).

Hillary promised that she would not run for President in 2004 as she promised to fill out her full first term as Senator. She did not make a similar pledge when she ran for re-election in 2006. She also continued to serve until she was appointed to a new position. That's not quitting, that's moving onto something else in public service. Sarah Palin abruptly quit her term before it was finished while being appointed or elected to nothing. That's quitting, and that's why she's a quitter and Hillary isn't.

Would be amusing to project exactly where Palin would run this country. ...To the taxidermist? ...WalMart? ...Juneau School of Dance and Cosmetic Surgery? I'm confident we'd get to where-ever in a Hummer with mag-wheels and a wolf-head hood ornament.

Palin quits because of the law suits that were wasting her time and taking her away from affecting the changes she wanted to make in Alaska.

Sarah Palin is a complete fraud. Clinton is not a quitter just a lying errrr I mean say one thing and not mean it, then change your story coattail riding politician.

The only thing good about Clinton and Palin was watching their alter egos on SNL. Look, Clinton made undelevered promises here in NY and Palin did the same in Alaska. I think that Clinton has done way more over her career to earn the praises/jeers that go along with a very successful public life of service. Palin...well listen, I think Palin is a fool. I respect that she's an outdoorsman (woman...) and that she is "Down to Earth" to many, but her rationale on so many issues is just plain off to me. Not that I agree with Hillary mind you, but Clinton has at least really been there and done that. Clinton is still being there and doing that as a matter of fact. So, I agree with Howard. Palin saw the $$$ and went after it just like any good capitalist would. Clinton is waiting to strike again at the Presidency and will probably win it eventually (not with my vote). BUT...for the purpose of this poll...Oprah wins hands down. I mean has Palin or Clinton ever given a room full of people a new car? I say no.

Palin should really not be on this list as well as Michelle Obama. Palin is no more qualified to run for the Office of President than Mr. Obama was in 2008. As for Michelle, why should she be admired? Because she is married to the President? Then in that regard should Laura Bush and every other Presidents wife be on this list as well? Oprah is by far the biggest American success story on this list. That is why she got my vote.

I'm not buying the nonsense about Palin as an experienced hunter anymore. She couldn't hit a caribou at 50 paces with a scoped rifle.

It is sad that the Palin vitirole overshadows the tremendous accomplishments of Condoleeza Rice. She is the great American story. Came from very humble beginnings, earned an education and rose to a level of influence in American politics unheard of for a black female all while exuding class, dignity, and walking above the fray of tabloidism. She may not have the money that Oprah has, but for me money and notoriety don't equal admiration for me. Condoleeza is head and shoulders above the rest of the list.

No offense Mr. Hansen, but one of Palins girlsfriends (probably a former friend now) said that she is just doing these things for TV and is not really the Outdoorsy person she claims to be.

If you value your life you will vote Oprah. She WILL find out who didnt vote for her and deploy her army of evil robots to get you. That is one powerful woman :)

I admire Condoleezza Rice and believe that she is one of the finest people to ever serve as Secretary of State. I also believe that she has no desire to get involved in all of the crap that comes with running for President. It seems to me that she's very content making a difference both in the academic world and in the private sector and furthermore believes that she can continue to serve as a private citizen. I believe that whatever she decides to do, she'll excel in it, because she's Condi Rice and that's what she's always done. She defines put up or shut up.

Rice isn't merely tainted by Bush. She was the public face for damage control when the premise for war (WMD) revealed itself, a canard. Her credibility meltdown before the Senate essentially nixed any political aspirations.

The only job Ms. Rice has ever considered "running" for, and still would be for that matter, is NFL Commissioner. She has been quite candid throughout her adult life that she has no desire in seeking elected political office.

Elizabeth Edwards was a great write-in, should have been on the list. True grace and dignity in the face of unimaginable circumstances.
