Genevieve (Jean) Rozanski

Genevieve (Jean) Rozanski passed away at home in the care of her family after a lengthy illness on Wednesday, November 17, 2010.
 
Jean was born on May 17, 1918 to Antoinette Goral and Michael Jakubaszek. She moved to Perry, NY in 1933 and worked at the former Perry Knitting Mill. She married the late Chester J. Rozanski in October 1937 and they resided in Perry and in Sebring, Florida.
 
Jean helped her husband manage Rozanski Motors, Inc. She was very active with traveling, gardening and making pierogis with her husband and she was an accomplished artist in the ceramic arts. She and her husband raised two children and babysat all six of their grandchildren. Her life was full with friendships and family throughout the country.
 
Jean was predeceased by her daughter, Marsha J. Brooks (Douglas) in 1997; her son, Chester R. Rozanski (Helene Talone) in 2001; her husband Chester J. Rozanski in 2002; and her sisters, Helen Buzak, Janet Borek, Celia Falsone and Alfreda Kolodziej.
 
Jean is survived by her brothers, Joseph Jakubaszek of Dansville; John Jakubaszek (Isabel) of Castile; her grandchildren Tracy Rozanski of Perry, NY, Scott Rozanski (Kim Bauer) of Avon, NY, Monique Rozanski of Perry, NY, Lt. Major Aaron Brooks (Christy) of Hawaii, Kristin Buisch (Adrian) of Rochester, NY, Michael Brooks of Saudi Arabia, countless nieces and nephews and 6 great-grandchildren (Kaileen, Hannah, Gabrielle, Jessica Rozanski, Aiden and Kingsley Brooks).
 
Eaton Watson Funeral Home of Perry, NY arranged an intimate gathering of family and friends on Monday November 22, 2010 and the service is at noon. Jean Rozanski will rest by her husband at the St. Stanislaus Cemetery on Water Street in Perry, NY. Donations or gifts in Jean’s name may be made to Pluta Cancer Center or the St. Isidore Parish of Perry, NY.
