Albert Emerson Hay

Albert Emerson Hay, 87, of Akron, died Sunday (February 20, 2011) at Weinberg Campus, Rosa Coplon Nursing Facility in Getzville after a lengthy illness.

He was born in Windsor, Ontario on July 9, 1923, a son of the late Andrew and Elizabeth Sayers Hay.

Mr. Hay was retired from Westinghouse  in Cheektowaga and enjoyed living at his cottage. 

Surviving is his wife, Thelma "Ozzie" Getman Hay of Akron.  Step children, Pamela (Melvin) Faulker of Akron, JoAnne (Mark) Forbach of Williamsville, Elizabeth Riccio of West Seneca, Amy (Steven) Parke of Kempner, TX, Michael (Sue) Getman of Waterford, NY and Theodore (Tracy) Getman of Orangeport, NY. Twelve grand-children, great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews also survive. He is the brother of Dorothy Hooper of Buffalo and the late Barbara Hay, James Hay, Jerold Hay, Michael Hay, Salina Noonan and Eileen Ziolkowski.

Friends and family may call 4-8PM Tuesday (Feb. 22, 2011) at the J. Leonard McAndrew Funeral Home, LLC., 32 John St., Akron where services will be Wednesday at 10AM with Rev. Msgr. Robert Williamson.  Memorials may be made to;  Akron - Newstead Senior Center, 5691 Cummings Rd., Akron, NY  14001

Burial will be in the United German and French Cemetery, Cheektowaga, NY.
