Norman Lloyd McIntyre

Norman Lloyd McIntyre passed away on June 5, 2011. He was born in Perry, NY, on August 4, 1924 in the home he lived in all his life. He was a graduate of Perry High School and attended Cornell University until he returned home to help his father on the farm. Norm excelled in athletics including golf, basketball, tennis and baseball, playing as the first baseman for the Perry Red Sox town team for numerous years. He was an avid New York Yankee fan. Norm served his community as president of the Chamber of Commerce and president of the Silver Lake Golf Club. Known as an “end man” in the annual Rotary show for many years, Norm was dedicated to his Perry Rotary Club where he served as president, twice received the Paul Harris Fellow Award and had a record perfect attendance of 2,698 meetings.
 

He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Laura (Barrows), sister Lois Lowden of AZ, daughter Becky (Peter) Bone of CO, sons Marc of AZ and Richard (Lydia) McIntyre of CO, as well as his grandchildren Erinn, Ryan, Meredith, and Morgan, and great-grandchildren Miles, Alex, Finn and Westin.
 

There will be no prior calling hours. Funeral Services will take place 2:00 PM on Saturday June 11, 2011 at the First Untied Methodist Church 35 Covington St. Perry, NY 14530.

Box 103 Perry, NY 14530 or to the First United Methodist Church 35 Covington St. Perry, NY 14530, where Norm was a life-long member.
