ROSE M. DIBBLE

Age 72, of Batavia, died peacefully Tuesday evening November 2, 2011 at Strong Memorial Hospital. She was born June 17, 1939 in Batavia, daughter of the late Earl G. & Florence (Driggs) Roth, also preceded in death by her husband William A. Dibble in 1985; brothers Carl A. & James Roth. She was a very active member of the First Presbyterian Church of Batavia and its 20-30 Club. A graduate of Elba Central School and the Genesee Hospital School of Nursing, Rose received additional training at Mt. Sinai Hospital in New York City and her advanced nursing degree from St. Joseph's College in Maine. She had a lifelong passion to be a nurse, having graduated from the same nursing school as her mother and great aunt and that passion gained her the respect of the doctors and staff she worked with and the patients she cared for. Rose travelled throughout Europe working at various hospitals and military bases then returned to nursing at the former St. Jerome's Hospital where she was instrumental in helping set up the Cardiac Unit finally ending her career as an ICU Nurse. A member of the Elba Historical Society, she enjoyed her fall trips to Maine for sailing and lobsters, summers spent at her cottage on Conesus Lake and tours with "Ramblin Lou".

Surviving are her beloved siblings Earl C. (Ann) Roth of Elba, Charles L. (Shirley) Roth of Albion and Irene (Tom) Griffith-Pierce of Elba; aunt Eleanor Mason of Elba; dear friend and fellow RN Darryl Tygart of LeRoy; 14 nieces, nephews, numerous great nieces, nephews cousins and friends.

Family and friends may visit Saturday November 5 from 6-8PM and Sunday November 6 from 1-3 & 6-8PM at the Michael S. Tomaszewski Funeral & Cremation Chapel, LLC 4120 West Main Street Road Batavia, New York 14020. Funeral Services will take place 10:00 AM Monday November 7, 2011 at the First Presbyterian Church 300 East Main Street Batavia with burial in Byron Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorials in Rose's memory are suggested to the church, Elba Historical Society or a charity of the donors choice. For more information please call Michael at (585)343-7500.
