Gerald W. “Jerry” Schenck

Gerald W. “Jerry” Schenck, 76, passed away Friday, January 15, 2021, at the New York State Veterans Home in Batavia, due to 
COVID-19.

Jerry was born in Batavia, August 14, 1944, a son of the late Warren and Jeanette Krauss Schenck. He was a proud veteran of the Army Corps of Engineers, earning the rank of E-5 and received many medals and honors. Jerry served in Vietnam for 1 year. He was the former owner of Three Buck’s Country Store in Darien, a Life member of the Alexander VFW Post #6239, Darien Volunteer Fire Department and President of Resident Council at the NYS Veterans Home.

Jerry is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Kathleen Schenck; loving son and daughter-in-law Jerid and Cathy Schenck; cherished grandsons, Justin and Cooper; sister-in-law Karol and brother Victor all of Darien. Several cousins and many friends also survive.

As per his wishes, there will be no calling hours. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Memorials in Jerry’s name may be made to the NYS Veterans Home Residents Fund, 220 Richmond Ave., Batavia, NY 14020. Arrangements were made by C. B. Beach & Son Mortuary, Inc., Corfu, NY.
