Nicknamed "Buzzy" by his brother when they were kids, Carl was a free spirit that loved his daughter, Suz and his family and friends in Sheldon, NY. He helped his father combine and he independently had a crop-spraying business with his red "M" tractor. He enjoyed flying his Hawk Ultralight plane and cruising on his Harley. He was an avid reader of Sci-fi and history. He loved watching Star Trek or jamming the tunes of the Beatles, Pink Floyd, Alice Cooper, and Fleetwood Mac.

Carl is survived by his daughter; Suzanne (Edward) Mendes of Varysburg; siblings Joan (Duane) Hopkins of WV., John Becker of North Java and Kathy (Roger) Hanley of Sandusky, NY.

Theodore C. “Ted” Ianni, 69, of Lockport, passed away on Sunday (September 24, 2017) at Eastern Niagara Hospital in Lockport.

Ted was a free spirit, who always followed his dreams.  He enjoyed his life and spending time with family and friends. 

Surviving with his father, Mario, are several cousins, aunts and uncles.

Along with his mother, Maria, Ted is predeceased by his son, Alexander Ianni.  

Calling hours are Thursday from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at the Burdett & Sanford Funeral Home, 11 Maple Avenue, Oakfield, where prayers will be held at 10:30 a.m. followed by Ted’s Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. at Saint Padre Pio Parish, St. Cecilia's Site, 56 Maple Avenue, Oakfield.  Ted will be laid to rest in St. Cecelia’s Cemetery, Oakfield.

Sharon was a homemaker who loved raising her four beautiful children and being a wonderful pastor’s wife. She enjoyed reading, music, singing, walks through Letchworth State Park, tending to her flower gardens, cooking, baking and collecting antiques. She was a member of the Mt. Anthems Choir Group in Salisbury Pa. for 7 years in her youth and was an active member of the Silver Lake Mennonite Church in Perry.

She is survived by her husband: Ernest Stoltzfus whom she married on August 18, 1990, 1 daughter: Joanna Stoltzfus of Perry, 3 sons: Kendric (Heather) Stolzfus of Orange, Va., Derek and Danny Stoltzfus both of Perry, her mother: Grace J. Yoder of Grantsville, MD, a sister: Twila Yoder of Albright, WV, 2 brothers: Duane Yoder of Berlin, PA. and Wendel Yoder of Baltimore, MD, her mother-in-law: Lydia Stoltzfus of Honey Brook, PA., , 2 sisters-in-law: Mamie Bontrager of Arlington, KS, Becky (Jacob) Esh of Honey Brook, PA, a brother-in-law: Sam (Rosa Marie) Stoltzfus of Honey Brook, PA, along with many nieces, nephews and friends.

She worked for the former Gates Transport Trucking Company in Perry for 12 years and later for Hart’s Insurance Co. in Perry as a commercial Insurance agent for 18 years retiring in 1992. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Perry where she was involved with the United Methodist Women, a member of the Wyoming County Home Bureau, former Golden Age Club of Perry and the Senior Social Club of Perry. Marge enjoyed listening to country music, was an excellent pie maker, family and friends called her home “Grandma’s Pie Factory”, the biggest part of her life was family, she enjoyed those simple visits especially from her grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren.

Stafford - William P. “Bill” Dougherty passed away on Sunday, September 24, 2017 with his family at his side.

He is a US Army veteran, served as a JCI Senator and member of JC's in Batavia.  He was a member of the Notre Dame Sports Boosters, Society American Baseball Research; Board of Directors of the Genesee County Baseball Club and life member of the Stafford Fire Department.  He was a graduate of Batavia High School and Alfred State College and was an author.

He is survived by his wife, Geraldine "Geri" Dougherty; 3 sons, Paul (Holly) Dougherty, Brian (Adrianne) Dougherty and Mark (Nancy) Dougherty; 5 grandsons, Chris, Matthew, Kyle, John and Alex Dougherty and 2 granddaughters, Jessica (Antonio) Ciaccia and Caitlin (Ryan) Bucari; 4 great-grandchildren, Franco, Marco, Rory and Griffin.

Batavia ~ World War II Veteran, Patrick Palotti, died peacefully at the NYS Veteran’s Home in Batavia, on Sept. 11, 2017, where he had been a resident since early August. He was 98 and lived his life fully and independently. 

     Pat is lovingly remembered for his stories, love of family and friends, remodeling skills, gardening, and his zest for life. He owned and ran Pat’s Bootery in LeRoy for 34 years. Not ready for retirement,  he later worked at Genesee Country Village and Darien Amusement Park into his 80’s with wife Dot by his side.

     He was a member of St. Peter’s Church, Rotary Club, Head of the Babe Ruth League and LeRoy and Genesee County Chambers of Commerce.

     Pat is predeceased by wife Dot, son Gary, parents, and siblings, Sally Platt and Florence McMahon.

     He is sorely missed by daughter, Kathleen (Ken) Henry of Batavia; daughter-in-law, Karen (late Gary) Palotti of Simsbury, CT and son, David (Marilynn) Palotti of East Bethany; eleven gratefull grandchildren remain; Mike (Kristy) Palotti, Kevin (Karly) Palotti, Jeremy (Kristin) Palotti, Adam (Sonja) Palotti, Matthew (Rhean) Palotti, Josh (Mandy) Palotti, Ken (Julie) Henry, Brian (Amy) Henry, Jennifer Gadd, Emily (Frank) Falleti and Megan (Alex) Lega and the joys of his life, 23 great-grandchildren; Hayleigh, Andy, Nate, Luca, Rose, Henry, Carter, Felix, Holden, Nathan, Noah, Grant, Liberty, McKenzie, Tyler, Dylan, Austin, Gino, Francesco, Mirabella, Arianna, James and Dale.

He loved being a Dad, Papa, uncle, cousin and best brother.  Dean was an avid outdoorsman with a passion for hunting with Mark and fishing with Auggie. He was a lifelong Buffalo Bills, Sabres and NY Yankees fan. He enjoyed spending his Sundays watching football in his recliner with his 3 best buddies Jack, Bang and Spike by his side. He enjoyed fishing, going to Sabres and Bills games and eating wings at Duff's with Lindsay. They shared a lifelong love of animals. She may have learned dog rescue from him. He enjoyed working with the horses, eating Crosby's pizza and watching Thor and Swamp People with Emily. Dean loved being a Papa to Collin playing Nerf wars, jumping on the trampoline, wrestling and watching Monster Jam. Dean enjoyed working with standard bred horses with his family and friends for many years. He spent many a trip in the back of a truck or trailer going from track to track to make it easier for his Mom and Dad. In more recent years he enjoyed traveling to visit Tim and Melanie in Florida. Swimming in the pool and fishing in the gulf. Dean and Tim have had many adventures over the years most recently fishing, playing poker and floating in the pool just hanging out together as only brothers can do. Dean enjoyed spending time with Robin and her family. Always being a huge part of any celebration. He would willingly wear party hats or do any nonsense to make the holiday fun for everyone. He also could be counted on to help do anything that needed to be done and was often seen hanging precariously from tree stands to help get ready for deer season with Mark. He found a new passion working as a radiology technician at UMMC in Batavia. He loved his coworkers and the patients he cared for. He enjoyed wearing his Super Hero Scrubs for the enjoyment of the "kids". His biggest gift was his big heart always willing to help. He worked hard and played hard.

He is survived by his loving children Lindsay (Taylor) Harris of Harlem, GA., Emily Dale of Attica,  favorite sister Robin (Mark) Shaw of Henrietta, little brother Tim (Melanie) Dale of Sarasota , FL., grandson Collin Dale of Attica; long time companion Shari Fothiathis of Corfu; niece and nephew Michael (Amber) Shaw of Batavia, Morgan Shaw of Fairport and great niece Carrigan along with his 3 best buddies Bang, Jack and Spike.

Corfu -- Robert H. Musall, 88, of Corfu, NY, died peacefully on September 20^th 2017 with his family by his side.

He was born January 4^th, 1929 in North Tonawanda, NY. He is survived by his wife Susanalice of 41 years, four daughters: Kathryn Musall, Kara (Mike) Czechowicz, Emily (Justin) Fronckowiak and Sara (Eric Krasinski) Musall, brother Richard Musall and six grandchildren.

Robert had a love for his family and country. He was a proud Marine and Korean War Veteran. He was a Sargeant of the 1^st Marine Division in Korea and 2^nd Marine Division in the United States. He was also a lifetime member of the Marine Corps League Conrad F. Kania Detachment and actively involved in the local VFW, serving as commander of his post, Cathie-Wild Post 9000, for several years while in his early 80s.

He retired from the New York State Thruway after 30 years of service. He had many interesting occupations throughout his life including cowboy in Wyoming and driving a hearse. His great loves were spending time with his family and horses. He loved the mountains, visiting national parks and historical military sites. He was genuine, deeply caring and witty. His love and devotion for his family was only surpassed by theirs for him.

Batavia - June Cotton Vukman, 87, went to be with our Lord September 16, 2017 surrounded by her family.  She was born in Buffalo, NY on January 21, 1930, a daughter of Andrew and Mildred Baube Cotton.  She is predeceased by the “love of her life”, Roy J. Vukman, who passed away January 24, 1997 and her brother Lloyd and sister-in-law, Ethel.  She was Supervisor of the Town of Batavia for eighteen years, a job she loved. 

She is survived by her sons, Dr. Gerald (Susan) Vukman of Oakfield, Dr. Ronald (Elizabeth) Vukman of Rochester; her daughter, Patricia Swift of Niagara Falls; 8 grandchildren, Michelle (Gary) Patnode, Stephen Vukman, Christine (Phillip) Auman, Joanne Vukman, Matthew Vukman, Timothy Vukman, Emily Vukman and Zachery Swift; 2 great-grandchildren, Gary and Jonathan Patnode; and 3 nieces. 

A celebration of her life will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, September 27, 2017 at Batavia First United Methodist Church.  Burial will follow in Grand View Cemetery.  Flowers are gratefully declined. She became a countryman's wife in 1952, and as her family grew, she filled the roll of wife and mother of 4. Later, she worked for Genesee County Nursing home in Batavia as a Nursing Assistant and retired after 20 years of service in 1984. She then moved with her husband to Branchport, NY where she pursued a short stay at the Canandaigua VA, retiring in 1987.

She was active with the Board of Elections for the town of Italy in Yates County for 6 years. She was passionate for her church, Italy Hill Baptist, and loved gardening and crafts. In 2007, she and her husband downsized and moved to Attica to be closer to their children. It was then, that she shared her beautiful voice in the church choir at Alexander Methodist in Alexander. To share more time with her daughter, with open arms, she found a loving home and family at Alabama Full Gospel in 2013, and continued to serve and love on our Lord, and praise the life and family she had been gifted with. She will be missed, and remembered for her spunk, by those she came in contact with. Many thanks go out to all those who loved and cared for her as we set out on her journey home.

Patricia is survived by her loving husband of 65 years; Jesse H. Slate of Attica; children Bonnie (Chuck) Myers of Silver Springs, Shirley Slate of Batavia, Karl (Sue) Slate of Batavia, Hope (Edward) Knapp of Alexander, Kelly (Jim) Hilt of Scocia, Kori Slate of Canandaigua; grandchildren Christina (Sam) Salamone, Paul (Jan) Myers, Brooke (Tim) Eck, Eric (Juan) Slate, Jaimee (Cory) Coles, Joshua (Brandy) Knapp, Jon (Amirose) Knapp, Michael (Christina) Knapp, Zachary and Kendal Hilt, Patrick and Autumn Lewis; 8 great-grandchildren along with several nieces and nephews.

Lorne had a love for animals, as he was aspiring to be a Veterinarian Technician. He was an avid reader, loved art, sketching and drawing and enjoyed playing Xbox online with his friends. Lorne will be remembered for his big heart and his willingness to help anyone who needed it.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by his siblings; Amanda Brudz of Batavia and Andrew Brudz of Rochester; uncle Timothy (Rita) Brudz of Attica, aunt Amy (Edward) Wenck of Indiana, and Michelle McCulloch of Attica along with several cousins.

Corfu - Beth J. Aylsworth, 58, of Corfu, passed away at her home Tuesday, September 19, 2017.

 

Beth was born April 21, 1959 in Buffalo, a daughter of the late Arthur and Ruth Popp Brown. Beth was a 1977 graduate of Cheektowaga Central School. She received an associates degree from Bryant and Stratton College. Beth was a billing manager for Pembroke Family Medicine.

 

Beth’s favorite pastimes were spending time with her family, playing cards, reading, gardening and boating. She was an animal lover but had a soft spot for dogs. Over the years, Beth adopted many dogs through the ASPCA. 

 

Beth is survived by her beloved husband of 35 years, Michael Aylsworth; devoted children, Gretchen Aylsworth and Christopher Aylsworth; two brothers, David (Joyce) Brown, of Tennessee, and Paul (Nancy) Brown, of Depew, and several nieces and nephews. Beth also leaves behind many close friends who were really more like family. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

LeRoy - Pauline B. Jaczynski, 91, formerly of Batavia, died Tuesday, September 19, 2017 at United Memorial Medical Center, in Batavia.

Mrs. Jaczynski was born June 19, 1926 in Turbotville, PA, the daughter of the late Henry and Harriet (Rider) Pursel.

She enjoyed Shopping, eating out and playing BINGO, Pokeno and scratch off tickets.

Her husband, Walter W. Jaczynski, died in 1985.

Survivors include 2 sons, David (Denise) Jaczynski of Basom and Roger (Karen) Jaczynski of Byron; 2 daughters, Mary (Jonathan) Pfennig of Corfu and Rose (Kenneth) Baker of Medina; a sister-in-law, Elsie Pursel of Batavia; 10 grandchildren, Kara Workowski, Bethany Pfennig, Daniel Pfennig,  Amber Jaczynski, Kate Campany, Diana Baker, Kenneth Baker, Jr., Julie Taylor, Samantha Baker and Eric Harter; 10 great-grandchildren, Hailey, Mitchel, Dylan, Eddie, Mason, Evan, Piper, Bella, Raelynn and James and several nieces and nephews. 

She is the sister of the late Calvin, Vernon, Walter, John, Andy, Clarence, Frederick, Charles, Annabelle, Dorothy, Catherine, Mabel, Leah, Julie and Edith.

Richard loved to snowboard, ride his dirt bikes and loved to play video games. He was true to the Buffalo Bills and Sabres. Richard and his mom loved to watch the TV show The Walking Dead and most of all was a devoted father to his son.

He is survived by his beloved son; Noah J. Bellinger of Attica; parents Richard Bellinger of Varysburg and Lori Becker of Depew; sisters Nicole Bellinger of Attica and Melinda Lehmann of West Henrietta; brother Ryan Bellinger of Attica; nephews Ishiah and Colin Lehmann; niece Malia Bellinger.

A graduate of Perry Central High School, Charles worked for the former Foster Wheeler Co. in Dansville for many years as a welder and later retired from TMP Inc. in Wyoming. Charles was a member of the National Rifle Association. He enjoyed deer hunting and woodworking.

He is survived by a sister; Bonnie (Cleon) McLeod of Dunn, NC.;  2 brothers Alan (Cindy) Foote of Perry and Robert Foote of Nunda along with many nieces and nephews.
