A car vs. pedestrian accident is reported on Main Street in front of Larry's Steakhouse. The pedestrian is on the ground. City fire, police and Mercy medics are responding.

UPDATE 9:57 a.m.: City fire is back in service. Mercy medics are transporting the patient to the hospital.

UPDATE 10:13 a.m.: The male pedestrian is being taken to Erie County Medical Center. He had a bike with him, but it has not been determined whether he was riding it at the time of the accident. Authorities will follow up.

A motorcycle accident is reported in the area of 4491 Old Ford Road, Elba.

Injuries are reported.

Elba fire and Mercy EMS dispatched.

UPDATE 8:38 p.m.: Injuries are minor. Elba Fire back in service, except for fire police still on scene.

A pedestrian was struck by a car and a minor injury is reported in the area of the roundabout and Oak Street. City fire, police and Mercy medics are on scene. The pedestrian complains of some lower leg pain.

UPDATE 3:12 p.m.: City fire is returning to service.

UPDATE 3:20 p.m.: Mercy medics are back in service with a sign off from the pedestrian.

A 9-year-old girl from Corfu lost consciousness following an accident this afternoon in Oakfield and was taken by Mercy Flight to Strong Memorial Hospital.

After the girl regained consciousness, Samantha Davis started screaming and was screaming as she was loaded onto the helicopter. First responders took her screaming as a good sign.

Samantha was a passenger in a 2010 sedan driven by her mother, Christine A. Davis, 33, of Pratt Road, Corfu.

According to Sgt. James Meier, Davis was driving south on Lewiston Road and started a left-hand turn onto Maltby Road.

Her car was T-boned by a 2012 Ford pickup truck driven by Jon Doran, 48, of Weber Avenue, Oakfield.

Doran, his wife, Kimberly, 46, and son, Cody, 23, all suffered minor injuries and were transported to UMMC.

Christine Davis was transported by ground ambulance to Strong.

She was cited for alleged right-of-way violation.

The investigation was conducted by Deputy Lonnie Nati.

Oakfield fire and Mercy EMS responded to the scene.

A two-car accident with serious injuries is reported at 6916 Lewiston Road at the corner of Albion Road. Oakfield Fire Department is responding along with two Mercy rigs. Mercy Flight is on ground standby. One victim is unresponsive.

UPDATE 1:51 p.m.: A responder says traffic control is needed and two Oakfield Fire Police are called. Mercy Flight is called to the scene, a junction known as Five Corners.

UPDATE 1:53 a.m.: The Mercy Flight landing zone will be the school.

UPDATE 1:54 p.m.: The Crash Management Team is called in.

UPDATE 1:57 p.m.: Another Mercy unit is called, non-emergency.

UPDATE 1:59 p.m.: The third Mercy unit is cancelled, back in service. Mercy Flight 5 out of Batavia has a three-minute ETA. The unresponsive patient is now conscious.

UPDATE 2:07 p.m.: Mercy Flight has landed.

UPDATE 2:17 p.m.: The Crash Management Team and investigator will not be needed. One ambulance is transporting a patient to Strong Memorial Hospital. The second one is taking a patient to the Mercy Flight landing zone at the school. The third ambulance was called back to the scene, emergency mode, where there are two three remaining patients. One of them has facial injuries and shoulder pain.

UPDATE 2:23 p.m.: Mercy Flight is airborne and headed to Strong.

UPDATE 2:24 p.m.: The Oakfield Fire Department is back in service.

UPDATE 2:28 p.m.: Three "trauma patients" are being taken to UMMC.

UPDATE 2:42 p.m.: Bound for UMMC are: a 46-year-old female, who was wearing a selt belt, and complains of left hand pain; a 23-year-old male, who was unrestrained in the rear seat of the pickup truck involved and has a laceration on his chin and abrasions to his left chest area; and a 48-year-old male driver, who wore a selt belt, and complains of pain in his lower abdomen.

UPDATE 3:04 p.m.: The Oakfield assignment is back in service.

A two-vehicle accident is reported at West Main and Oak streets. City fire and two Mercy medic ambulances are responding. There are two, possibly three, people with what are believed to be minor injuries. The accident is partially blocking traffic. Law enforcement is on scene.

UPDATE 10:08 a.m.: One of the ambulances that responded is cancelled, now back in service.

UPDATE 10:23 a.m.: Engine 11 is back in quarters.

A one-car rollover accident, with possible serious injuries, is reported at 9327 Warsaw Road, near Perry Road, Le Roy. Mercy Flight out of Batavia is contacted and is available. Le Roy Fire and Ambulance Service are responding and Le Roy PD is on scene.

UPDATE 1:29 p.m.: A medic on scene says Mercy Flight will not be needed.

UPDATE 1:31 p.m.: Southbound traffic on Route 19 will be shut down. Firefighters are told to slow down their response and the assignment is held to Engine 62.

UPDATE 1:37 p.m.: The vehicle landed on its roof in a ditch.

UPDATE 1:48 p.m.: Le Roy ambulance is transporting the driver to Strong Memorial Hospital. The road is being reopened. Engine 62 is returning to service along with Le Roy PD. Fire police will remain on scene for awhile.

UPDATE 2:35 p.m.: The road is open. All responders are back in service.

A car vs. deer accident is reported at Bank Street and R. Stephen Hawley Drive. The deer is said to have crashed into the car's windshield and the driver sustained minor injuries. Mercy medics and Town of Batavia Fire Department are responding.

UPDATE 12:53 p.m.: Law enforcement on scene reports the driver is not injured and he is out walking around. Town fire's response is cancelled; the driver will not need medical attention.

A car has hit a tree at Judge and Feeder roads, Alabama.

There are reportedly minor injuries.

Alabama fire and Mercy EMS responding.

UPDATE 9:34 p.m.: Alabama is back in service.

A vehicle is believed to have struck a person in a wheelchair in the parking lot of Sport of Kings restaurant on West Main Street. A female is lying in the roadway and has minor injuries. Mercy medics, police and city fire are responding.

A car reportedly crashed into a house at 10182 Brookville Road, at the corner of Hunn Road, in Alexander. There are injuries. Alexander fire and ambulance are responding, and as a precaution, a Mercy unit. A responder at the scene tells the others to come in non-emergency.

UPDATE 6:35 p.m.: The first responder says "The car is right here by the pole -- just go in and check the house to make sure it's alright."

UPDATE 8:04 p.m.: Alexander is back in service. At least one patient was taken to an area hospital.

Funeral services have been set for Kevin Doktor, a local businessman killed in a heavy machinery accident Sunday at his home in Corfu.

Doktor owned Doktor's Welding on Route 5 in Corfu and enjoyed auto racing and making his own inventions.

Friends are invited to a time of sharing and memories from 4 to 7 p.m., Friday, at J. Leonard McAndrew Funeral Home, 2 Bogue Ave., Batavia.

The funeral service is at 10 a.m., Saturday, at Pembroke Community Church, 692 Main Road, Corfu.

State Police are continuing to investigate the apparent accidental death of Kevin Doktor, of Boyce Road, Corfu, late this afternoon.

According to what East Pembroke firefighters were told when they arrived on scene, Doktor was operating a CASE Model 1840 skid loader when it became stuck, said Stephen Smelski, assistant chief for East Pembroke.

Doktor's son went to get a piece of equipment at Doktor's nearby house to pull it out and returned to the skid loader with a neighbor.

The 54-year-old Doktor was reportedly caught between the loader's bucket and the front of the seat area of the loader.

Smelski said it appeared Doktor was either trying to repair something or get back into the skid loader when the bucket fell.

There should be safety devices on the loader to prevent such accidents said a neighbor who works regularly with skid loaders. It's not known at this time why such a safety device might have failed.

At this stage of the investigation, State Police are not discussing any details of the incident, but it is being investigated as an accident.

Smelski said when firefighters arrived, they tried to lift the bucket, but the apparent equipment malfunction prevented them from moving it. Even if they had been able to move it, Doktor's injuries were too severe for first responders to have saved him, Smelski said.

Doktor was well known in the Corfu and East Pembroke communities. He owned Doktor's Welding on Route 5.

A man is reported to be stuck -- "not sure if he's inside or under" -- a bulldozer or some other type of machinery on Boyce Road. Mercy medics are responding along with East Pembroke Fire Department and mutual aid from Alexander. Mercy Flight is on ground standby in Batavia.

UPDATE 4:28 p.m.: "Patient is still trapped underneath a skidster," says a responder from Corfu Fire Deparment, adding that the patient is way back behind the house.

UPDATE 4:29 p.m.: The path back there is problematic because it's likely trucks would get stuck if they tried to drive on it.

UPDATE 4:31 p.m.: They need manpower to go back to the accident site with hand tools. They are to stage at their trucks for now. An investigator is called to the scene.

UPDATE 4:34 p.m.: Mercy Flight is cancelled.

UPDATE 4:35 p.m.: A rep for Case tractor / farm equipment is sought so responders can get information on how to work the machine's hydraulics.

UPDATE 4:41 p.m.: A man is at the scene who is either a rep for Case or who is knowlegable about the machinery in question, but he is told the State Police investigators must complete their work before he go back there.

UPDATE 5:09 p.m.: This is a fatal accident.

A Medina woman died and three Batavia residents were hospitalized following a two-car accident at Oak Orchard River Road and Waterport Road, Town of Carlton, yesterday evening.

Sun glare appears to be a leading contributing factor to the accident, according to the Orleans County Sheriff's Office.

Ashley D. Morehouse, 28, of Medina, was driving a 2000 Pontiac sedan west on Oak Orchard River Road when she failed to stop for a stop sign, according to the Sheriff's Office. Her car was struck by a northbound 2003 Pontiac SUV driven by Lorrie D. Kuhns, 52, of Batavia.

Morehouse was pronounced dead at the scene by Orleans County Coroner Scott M. Schmidt.

Her passenger, Gary L. Weese, 40, of Batavia, was flown by Mercy Flight to Strong Memorial Hospital.

Dominic Amrhein, Morehouse's 4-year-old son, was transported by Central Orleans Volunteer Ambulance to Strong. Dominic was strapped into an approved child safety seat in the rear passenger seat, the Sheriff's Office said.

Thomas S. Kuhns, 61, of Batavia, and Lorrie Kuhns were taken by a Medina FD ambulance to ECMC.

The accident remains under investigation and is being conducted by Deputy M.J. Emens, Deputy J.J. Cole, Deputy K.J. Colonna, Lt. R.E. Perry, Investigator C.L. Black and Chief Deputy T.L. Drennan.

Carlton and Albion fire departments responded to the accident.

A bicyclist reportedly fell on off his bike and was lying unconscious in the roadway at Griswold, near Caswell Road. Law enforcement on scene says the man is a "little out of it" and cannot recall what happened. He is not intoxicated. He is conscious and alert. Mercy medics and Stafford fire were dispatched and Mercy Flight put on ground standby.

UPDATE 1:51 p.m.: Mercy Flight is cancelled and the other responders are told to proceed non-emergency.

UPDATE 2 p.m.: The Stafford assignment is back in service.

A car vs. school bus accident is reported in front of Dunn Tire store at 140 W. Main St. in the city. The bus has no passengers. There are no injuries. City fire and Mercy medics are responding.

A two-car accident with possible minor injuries is reported at Route 77 and Route 5, Pembroke.

Pembroke and Indian Falls fire departments responding along with Mercy EMS.

UPDATE 8:29 a.m.: The accident is not blocking and there may be no injuries.

UPDATE 8:30 a.m.: There is at least one person with injuries being treated.

An accident involving two vehicles is reported at Ford and Norton roads. Injuries are minor. Elba and Byron fire departments are responding along with medics.

UPDATE 3:07 p.m.: A second ambulance is called in for a subject with chest pain.

UPDATE 3:19 p.m.: Byron is transporting one patient to Strong Memorial Hospital.

UPDATE 4:07 p.m.: The other patient is a 38-year-old male who was taken to UMMC with an injured right hand.

A minor-injury accident is reported in the area of 3193 Broadway Road. Alexander Fire Department and an ambulance are responding.
