William J. Butler, 40, of 3 Vine St., Batavia, is charged with two counts of criminal possession of a controlled substance, 3rd, and promoting prison contraband, 1st. Butler was taken into custody by members of the Local Drug Enforcement Task Force as part of an investigation into trafficking in crack cocaine in Batavia. Members of the task force, the Genesee County Sheriff's Office and the Batavia Police Department executed a search warrant on Butler's residence. Butler was located in a vehicle on Route 33, Town of Batavia. As a result of the searches, Butler was allegedly found in possession of more than one-half ounce of crack cocaine. While being processed into Genesee County Jail, Butler was also allegedly found to have crack cocaine on his person. The total street value of the crack cocaine is estimated at $1,000. Additional charges may be pending. Butler was jailed with no bail.

Christopher Paul Rutherford, 26, of Cowan Road, Piffard, is charged with petit larceny. Rutherford is accused of giving away an oil change and tire rotation to a friend and fellow employee at 4133 Veterans Memorial Drive, Batavia.

Earl Shateek Anthony Lockhart, 18, of East Main Street, Batavia, is charged with petit larceny. Lockhart is accused of shoplifting from Walmart.

Diane Mary Kotarski, 37, of Lewiston Road, Batavia, is charged with harassment, 2nd. At 3:35 a.m., Kotarski allegedly grabbed a male victim by the neck and slammed him into a car window. Kotarski was arraigned and released and an order of protection was filed barring her from contact with the alleged victim.

Steven Michael Hauser, 41, of Stanridge Court, Rochester, is charged with harassment, 2nd. Hauser is accused of punching another person while inside the concert venue at Darien Lake. The alleged incident occurred at 10:45 p.m., Aug. 20.

Gerilynn Georgette Joannis, 43, of Stanridge Court, Rochester, is charged with harassment, 2nd. Joannis is accused of punching another person while inside the concert venue at Darien Lake. The alleged incident occurred at 10:45 p.m., Aug. 20.

A car was stolen a short time ago from in front of a business on Liberty Street.

A customer went into the business and found when she came back out that her 2009 Chevy Malibu was gone.

The color of the car is gray.

Batavia Police are responding.

The following indictments were filed last week by the Genesee County Grand Jury.

Nicholas S. Dellarocco is indicted on charges of burglary, 3rd, criminal mischief, 4th, and petit larceny. Dellarocco is accused of entering a business at 3 West Ave., Le Roy, on May 3 with the intention to commit a crime. He allegedly damaged doors and a cash register in the building. He also allegedly stole cash from the business.

Alan J. Delano is indicted on charges of burglary, 2nd, petit larceny, and three counts of criminal possession of stolen property, 4th. Delano is accused of entering a residence at 61 Myrtle St., Le Roy, with the intent to commit a crime. He is accused of stealing a flat-screen TV and a vase along with $30 cash on March 13. He is accused of possessing a credit card, a debit card and a public benefits card belonging to another person.

Crystal L. Goodrich indicted on charges of felony DWI, driving with a BAC of .08 or greater and aggravated unlicensed operation of a vehicle. Goodrich is accused of driving a 2003 GMC on a public road in Pavilion on May 3 while intoxicated.

For the three youths being hauled into family court on arson charges stemming from the Wiard Plow fire on May 8, justice -- such as it is -- will be swift.

Family court operates much faster than adult court, according to Assistant County Attorney Durin Rogers.

Rogers spoke on the condition that his comments not be construed as speaking specifically about the arson case, but in general about how family court operates and what a youth facing felony charges might expect. He is prohibited by law from talking about specific cases in family court, where all matters are kept confidential.

The outcome of a case such as this could range from conditional discharge, to two years probation, to placement in a limited-security facility for up to 18 months. 

That's as close as a youth charged with a felony might come to prison, unless the young offender committed one of a series of offenses eligible for juvenile offender status.

As a JO, a youth could be tried as an adult.

The charges in this case do not fall within that statutory definition, Rogers said.

Some cases, he said, are just seen as acts of juvenile delinquency.

Asked if the public will ever know the outcome of the case, Rogers said he couldn't comment.

Det. Todd Crossett told WBTA this morning that the arrest of the three 14-year-olds is the last the public will ever hear of the case.

As for the parents of youths in such cases, they face no charges tied directly to their children's actions, and are not technically financially liable for the damage caused by a minor to private property, Rogers said. 

In family court, there are hearings and respondents (called defendants in adult court) who receive legal respresentation. A convicted youth can be ordered to pay restitution, but not the parents, Rogers said.

That doesn't mean the property owner victimized by an act of vandalism can't sue the parents. But in order to sue them, the property owner would have to know who the youth was who committed the crime. Asked if there was a procedure for a property owner to find out the name of defendant in family court, Rogers said he couldn't comment on that.

Crossett told WBTA this morning that detectives don't believe the three youths meant to burn down a building.

"I don't think there was the thought when they went in there to say, 'Let's burn the whole thing down,'" Crossett said.

With the old wood and chemicals in the building, Crossett said the youths' fascination with fire became something too big too fast.

"I think the fire just got really out of hand really fast," Crossett said.

The foundations of the old factory buildings have been cleared of debris, as the pictures with this post show. Owner Tom Mancuso was not available to comment today on the future of the space.

As the chapter on the May 8 fire comes to a close, Mancuso's company is also pushing ahead with the Masse Gateway Project.

A Holley man who suffered a head injury in an ATV accident last month was booked by State Police on drinking and driving charges Tuesday.

Twenty-five-year-old Keith A. Carpenter was among three ATV riders charged with DWI in connection with the July 18 accident at 6137 Merrill Road, Byron.

Carpenter was taken to Strong Memorial Hospital by Mercy Flight with head trauma and other injuries, according to Lt. David Denz. Tuesday was the first opportunity since Carpenter was released from medical care to book him on the charges.

According to Denz, Carpenter was riding an ATV and following Theodore C. Vierling, 21, of Holley, when Vierling slowed to make a turn. Carpenter didn't notice Vierling slowing and ran his ATV into the back of Vierling's ATV. Carpenter was ejected from his vehicle.

Vierling was not injured in the 8:03 p.m. accident but he was also charged with driving while alcohol impaired.

Carpenter was charged with DWI and operating with a BAC of .08 or greater.

Also charged with DWI and driving with a BAC of .08 or greater was Edward G. Kuhn, 20, of Holley. Kuhn was following Carpenter on his ATV, but not involved in the accident.

Sandra L. Chilano, 50, of Dodgeson Road, Alexander, is charged with grand larceny, 4th. Chilano is accused of writing out cash refunds to herself while employed at Petco. The total amount of cash refunds allegedly exceeded $1,000. The 11 separate alleged incidents occurred between June and August.

Debra J. Overton, 47, of Hague Street, Rochester, is charged with DWAI (drugs), aggravated unlicensed operation of a vehicle and failure to keep right. Overton was stopped at 9 p.m., Monday, by Deputy Tim Wescott.

Dedra Ann Berg, 35, of Lasaille Avenue, Kenmore, is charged with criminal contempt, 2nd. Berg is accused of going to the house of her boyfriend's victim on Overlook Drive, Batavia, in violation of an order of protection out of the Village of Kenmore. Berg reportedly has similar charges pending in the Village of Kenmore Court.

John Robert Douglas, 30, of Lasaille Avenue, Kenmore, is charged with criminal contempt, 2nd. Douglas allegedly went to the house of a person on Overlook Drive, Batavia, whom he was ordered not to contact by the Town of Grand Island and Village of Kenmore courts.

UPDATE: On Monday, we reported the arrest of Brenda Lea Freida, 43, of Munger Road, Holley, on a DWI charge. Yesterday, the Democrat and Chronicle reported that Freida is a director of instruction in Holley Central Schools. The D&C reported that she is currently on a voluntary leave of absence. At the time of her arrest, Frieda had a pending case in Genesee County for a prior alleged DWI.

An inmate at the federal detention facility in Batavia, who was already in trouble for reportedly using illegal tactics in debt collection, has been accused by Attorney General Andrew Cuomo of operating a collection agency from inside the prison.

Lamont Cooper, 38, formerly of Lancaster, operated CMC Recovery Services, Inc., d/b/a Legal Action Recovery in Buffalo, from prison in violation of a May 2009 court order barring him from the collection industry, according to the felony complaint. He was barred after an earlier investigation determined his business regularly used threats and intimidation against consumers.

The complaint alleges that Cooper’s collectors routinely pose as law enforcement and threaten to arrest consumers unless they make arrangements to pay the company immediately. The complaint further alleges Cooper’s involvement in the scheme continued after he was taken into federal custody in October 2009 for being found in violation of the terms of his release from a 1997 drug conviction.

Three 14-year-old boys have been charged with setting the Wiard Plow factory fire, which destroyed a good portion of the historic structure May 8.

Because the boys are juveniles, their names are not being released by law enforcement. Two of the boys face two counts each of arson, 3rd, and the third member of the trio faces one count of arson, 3rd.

The first two boys are accused of starting an early afternoon fire in an abandoned office in the old factory. The 1:40 p.m. fire was quickly extinguished by the Batavia Fire Department after a passerby reported seeing smoke coming from the building before the fire had much chance to spread. 

All three were allegedly involved in starting a second fire in the evening -- reported at 7:40 p.m. --  which quickly engulfed a good portion the structure causing an estimated $288,000 damage.

Lead investigator Det. Kevin Czora along with other members of the Batavia Police Department, the fire department, New York State Fire and the Genesee County District Attorney's Office spent three months building the case against the suspects. Detectives conducted numerous interviews and gathered physical evidence.

The three juveniles, because of their ages, have been referred to Genesee County Family Court to answer the charges.

Besides the arson charges, all three were also charged with burglary, 3rd, criminal mischief, 2nd, and conspiracy, 4th.

A mother whose under 15-year-old daughter admitted to her that she exchanged allegedly pornographic images with a 24-year-old Kansas man tracked the man down online and turned him over to Batavia Police.

The man is a registered sex offender. A Wichita Police investigation, after receiving the report from Batavia, indicates he may have victimized other youngsters around the nation.

Two Batavia girls were allegedly involved in exchanging pornographic images with Shane McClelland, of 1800 East 201st St., Wichita, Kansas.

McClelland was taken into custody by Wichita Police.

Based on the possibility of additional victims in other locations, the investigation is being turned over to federal law enforcement.

Conversations with the girls in Batavia reportedly began in January 2010 and continued into August 2010. Over time, the online conversations allegedly escalated into sexually explicit communications.

McClelland is being held in Wichita on additional charges and alleged parole violations.

Shawn Robert Hugar, 24, of Vandermark Road, Scio, is charged with DWI, a felony count of driving with a child under 15 in the car, driving with a BAC of .08 or greater, aggravated unlicensed operation of a vehicle and unsafe backing. Hugar was located at  12:55 a.m., Monday, on Route 77, south of Sumner Road, Darien, after backing his car into a ditch. Upon investigation, Sgt. Greg Walker found Hugar to be allegedly intoxicated and driving with a child in his car (a felony violation of Leandra's Law).

Tina M. Whitbeck, 43, of Penn Yan, is charged with a felony count of DWI, criminal contemp, 2nd, and aggravated DWI (drivng with a BAC of .18 or higher). State Police responded to a call at 8:40 p.m., Sunday, of a car partially blocking Pearl Street Road. The driver was also reported to be acting strangely. Upon investigation, Whitbeck's BAC was allegedly found to be .22. Whitbeck is also accused of traveling with a passenger that she was ordered to stay away from.

Jason Cleveland, 27, of Leroy, is charged with DWI and failure to keep right. Cleveland was stopped at 10 p.m., Sunday, by State Police on Route 77, Darien. Upon investigation, Cleveland was allegedly found to be operating with a BAC of .10.

Lansing H. Gardner, 35, of Lyndonville, is charged with DWI and driving with a BAC of .15. Gardner was stopped by State Police at 9:32 p.m., Sunday, on Colby Road, Darien.

Eric J. Goodwin, 31, of Lockport, is charged with DWI and driving with a BAC of .13. Goodwin was stopped at 12:45 a.m., Monday, by State Police, on Route 77 in Pembroke.

James E. Leair, 19, of Depew, is charged with unlawful possession of alcohol by a person under 21. Leair was cited by State Police at 7:30 p.m., Friday, on Sumner Road, Darien.

Keith A. Harman, 50, of Lancaster, is charged with DWI and aggravated DWI. Harman was stopped at 10:39 p.m., Friday, by State Police on Sumner Road, Darien.

Three Batavia men were injured in a weekend accident in Alabama, according to State Police.

None of the injuries were life threatening, but the driver, 23-year-old Adam L. Durfree, of Bank Street, Batavia, was charged with DWI.

Sgt. Kurt Schmidt said investigators concluded the accident was the result of alleged speeding and drinking.

Durfree's car struck a tree at 6324 Knowlesville Road, Alabama, after he apparently lost control of it and it slid off the roadway.

Also injured were William Morgan, 18, of North Lyons, Batavia, and Anthony Ogden, 18, of Holland Avenue, Batavia.

The accident occurred at 5:47 a.m., Saturday.

Durfree was treated and released at UMMC. Ogden was taken to UMMC and Morgan was taken to ECMC by ground ambulance. Schmidt said Morgan suffered multiple cuts.

A 17-year-old from Ellicott Street, Batavia, is charged with disorderly conduct and resisting arrest. The youth allegedly became involved in a verbal argument with another person during "Summer in the City." When police officers approached, the youth allegedly yelled obscenities at the officers. When the officers, who were on foot patrol for the festival, attempted to arrest the youth, the youth allegedly resisted.

John Martin King, 34, of Cockram Road, Byron, is charged with harassment, 2nd. King allegedly placed his hands around a woman's throat during an argument. King was jailed without bail and an order of protection was issued.

Joshua Stanley Martaus, 26, of Overlook Drive, Batavia, is charged with menacing, 3rd, harassment, 2nd, and possession of a controlled substance outside its original container. Martaus is accused of striking a female family member several times and causing fear of serious physical injury. He also allegedly choked her. Martaus was jailed on $500 bail.

Elizabeth Leach, 19, of Le Roy, and Cassandra Majors, 18, of Le Roy, along with a 17-year-old from Stafford and a 16-year-old from Le Roy, are charged with criminal mischief, 4th. The four teenagers are accused of vandalizing park benches on Main Street in Le Roy.

Tyler Ewell, 18, of Le Roy, is charged with unauthorized use of a motor vehicle. Ewell is accused of borrowing a car and not returning it within the "short period of time" he agreed to borrow the car. He was jailed on $250 bail.

Jeffery J. Cervone, 42, of Trumbull Parkway, Batavia, is charged with disorderly conduct. Cervone is accused of making verbal threats toward another person. He was jailed on $750 bail.

Jose Lopez-Torres, 21, of Oak Orchard Road, Batavia, is charged with DWI, driving with a BAC of .08 or greater, illegal entry, speeding and unlicensed operation of a vehicle. Lopez-Torres was stopped at 9:21 p.m., Saturday, on Route 98, Batavia, by Sgt. Brian Frieday. Lopez-Torres was handed over to the Border Patrol following his arrest.

Phyllis Arlene Brew, 40, of 6741 Main Road, Stafford, is charged with harassment, 2nd. Brew was arrested following a report of a physical altercation between mother and daughter. Brew was jailed on $500 bail.

John Alfred Jensen, 43, of 5751 Little Canada Road, East Bethany, is charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance, 7th. Jensen was arrested following a report at 7:01 a.m., Saturday, of a man sitting in a car drinking on Federal Drive, Batavia. Upon investigation, he was allegedly found in possession of a controlled substance.

William Floyd Engle, 43, of Sackett Road, Bergen, is charged with DWI, driving with a BAC of .08 or greater, refused breath test and unsafe start. Engle was allegedly involved in a motor vehicle accident at 1:08 a.m., Sunday. He is accused of driving his motorcycle while intoxicated.

Brenda Lea Freida, 43, of Munger Road, Holley, is charged with DWI and unlawful parking on a highway. The Sheriff's Office received a report of an unresponsive woman in a vehicle in the parking lot of Batavia Downs at 4:05 p.m., Saturday. Deputies responded with Mercy EMS. Upon investigation, Sgt. Greg Walker concluded that Freida drove her 2000 Jeep to the parking lot in an intoxicated condition and parked in a driving lane. Freida also allegedly refused a chemical test.

William A. Muoio, 39, of Byron, is charged with a felony count of DWI, driving with a BAC of .08 or greater, failure to obey traffic control device, driving while using a mobile phone, and running a red light. Muoio was allegedly observed by Le Roy Police Officer Emily Clark talking on his phone while stopped at a green light. Clark then reportedly observed Muoio drive through a red light.

Kristina Marie Green, 22, of Buffalo Street, Attica, is charged with DWI, driving with a BAC of .08 or greater and failure to keep right. Green is accused of being involved in a single-car accident on Alexander Road, Alexander, at 3:25 a.m., Saturday.

Robert C. Hinett, 22, of 5682 McPherson Point, Livonia, is charged with DWI, aggravated DWI - driving with a BAC of .18 or greater, and failure to yield right-of-way when entering roadway. Le Roy Sgt. Michael Hare reports that Hinett nearly hit Hare's patrol vehicle at 3:45 a.m., Saturday, when Hinett attempted to pull out in a lane of travel, causing Hare to break abruptly to avoid a collision. Upon investigation, Hinett was allegedly found to have a BAC more than three times the legal limit.

David D. Bull, 27, of West Avenue, Attica is charged with criminal mischief, 3rd, and criminal mischief, 4th. Bull allegedly damaged two vehicles parked in the concert venue parking lot. He was jailed on $500 bail.

Josua N. Roshia, 27, of Van Allen Road, Watertown, is charged with disorderly conduct. Roshia allegedly got into a fight with another patron in the concert area. He was jailed on $250 bail.

David P. Zimmer Jr., 24, of Chapman Parkway, Hamburg, is accused of pushing a security guard while inside the concert venue. Zimmer was jailed on $500 bail.

Michael J. Hayes, 25, of Berger Road, Port Byron, is charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance, 7th, and unlawful possession of marijuana.

Robert P. Albini III, 29, of Sunrise Drive, Amherst, is charged with disorderly conduct and trespass. Albini is accused of fighting with security while being ejected. Albini later allegedly returned to the concert venue, leading to the trespass charge.

Christina T. Anderson, 35, of Fry Street, Rochester, is charged with trespass. Anderson allegedly re-entered the concert venue after being ejected and told not to return.

David Leake, 45, of Strohm Street, Rochester, is charged with trespass. Leake allegedly re-entered the concert venue after being ejected and told not to return.

Patrick J. Brink, 36, of Janet Street, Auburn, is charged with trespass. Brink allegedly re-entered the concert venue after being ejected and told not to return.

James M. Quinlan Jr., 25, of Essex Street, Syracuse, is charged with trespass. Quinlan allegedly re-entered the concert venue after being ejected and told not to return.

Amanda K. Jutze, 23, of Allegheny Road, Darien, is charged with trespass. Jutze was reportedly told several times to leave the concert venue and allegedly refused to leave.

Jason W. Senik, 29, of Upper Mountain Road, Sanborn, is charged with disorderly conduct. Senik is accused of throwing a lit cigarette and striking a security guard with it.

Nicholas P. Miano, 20, of South Lane, North Tonawanda, is charged with false personation. Miano is accused of providing a false date of birth. He was also issued a citation for alleged possession of alcohol under age 21.

A 16-year-old, of Warner Avenue, North Tonawanda, is charged with false personation. The youth is accused of providing a false date of birth. He was also issued a citation for alleged possession of alcohol under age 21.

Citizen tips have led to the arrest of a suspect in an alleged hit-and-run accident on Richmond Avenue early Saturday morning.

David R. House, 28, of 140 Summit St., Batavia, is being charged with leaving the scene of a personal motor-vehicle accident, moving from lane unsafely and operating a vehicle without insurance.

House is accused of hitting a car that was legally parked on Richmond Avenue near VanDetta Stadium around 2:15 a.m., Saturday.

A woman who had attended an event at the stadium that evening was sleeping in the car.  She was injured in the accident.

On Monday, Batavia Police issued a statement to local media asking for information that might help investigators identify a suspect.

State Police assisted in the investigation.

Timothy V. Meyers, 17, of 2481 Walker Road, Darien, is charged with grand larceny, 4th. Meyers is accused of stealing a 2006 Yamaha Blaster four-wheel ATV from a house on Dodgeson Road, Alexander.  The ATV was recovered by Erie County law enforcement at a house in Clarence.

Jeffery Allen Good, 34, of Route 98, Alexander, was picked up on a bench warrant. The charges prompting the warrant were not released. Good was jailed on $500 bail.

Charles Anthony Smalls, 26, of Shefflen Avenue, Bronx, is charged with assault, 2nd. Smalls was a passenger in a car involved in a rollover accident on Route 33, Town of Batavia. Smalls reportedly left the scene of the accident and was located a short time later. When he was identified, deputies learned there was a warrant for his arrest from NYS Parole.

Matthew D. Derrick, 25, of 4036 West Main St., Batavia, is charged with criminal contempt. Derrick allegedly sent eight text messages to a person he was ordered not to contact.

Roger A. Laird Jr., 41, formerly of 11 Mix Place, Batavia, is charged with criminal contempt. Laird was found inside of a particular residence in alleged violation of an order of protection.

Deanna L. Virgo, 34, of Garibaldi Avenue, Oakfield, is charged with DWI and aggravated DWI (driving with a BAC of .18 or greater). Initially, the Sheriff's Office received a report of a woman in the Bergen Sugar Creek parking lot not wearing any pants. Upon arrival, deputies were unable to locate the woman. Later, the Sheriff's Office received a report at 5:30 p.m., Wednesday, of a disturbance at the Bergen Service Center, 8132 Buffalo Road, Bergen. There a customer was trying to talk to a woman who was in an apparent intoxicated condition in order to try and keep her from leaving. Upon investigation, deputies believe Virgo was the woman reported at the Sugar Creek without pants and that she drove to the Service Center and was drunk at the time. The incident was investigated by Deputy Chris Parker with back up from Deputy Corey Mower, Trooper Eric Daigler and Trooper Edward Chaney.

A 17-year-old from Alexander is charged with petit larceny. The youth is accused of stealing a case of Arizona Iced Tea worth $15 from a delivery truck while workers were unloading product at the Alexander Country Deli.

Lael Jacob Dylag, 24, of Cedar Street, Akron, is charged with harassment, 2nd. Dylag is accused of verbally and physically threatening another person at a location on West Main Street, Batavia.

Douglas Gene Swede, 62, of Perry Road, Pavilion, is charged with aggravated harassment, 2nd. Swede was reportedly unhappy with the scheduling of a planning board meeting and left a threatening message on the town supervisor's voice mail.

A Batavia man suffered minor knife cuts Tuesday night while visiting the Village of Pike when he became involved in an alleged fight on Main Street.

Josh Sumeriski, 25, of 17 Pringle Ave., was taken to an area hospital with superficial lacerations on his back.

Charged with assault, 2nd, was James L. Lathrop, 20, of 4685 Wilder Road, Warsaw.

The alleged fight was reported at 10:45 p.m.

Lathrop reportedly suffered a cut finger and an eye injury.

The Wyoming County Sheriff's Office did not report any charges against Sumeriski.

Lathrop was jailed on $500 bail.

Batavia Police acting on a tip of suspicious activity responded the Kwik Fill at Jackson and Ellicott streets just before 5 p.m. and conducted an extensive search of a red Chevy sedan parked next to a gas pump.

It turns out, there was nothing found and no arrest. The driver was cited for allegedly operating on a suspended license. That's it.

Duane Martin Bush, 61, of Silver Road, East Bethany, is charged with a felony DWI, aggravated DWI, aggravated unlicensed operation of a vehicle, 1st, failure to keep right and operating a motor vehicle without a license. A witness reported seeing a vehicle driving on Francis Road with a deteriorating tire at around 11:38 a.m., Tuesday. Deputy Brian Thompson responded and located a white van at 11145 Silver Road, East Bethany. Thompson would learn the van was allegedly driven by Bush, and that Bush had operated the van for about 11 miles without a right rear tire. Bush has allegedly been driving without a license since 1977. Bush allegedly drove with a BAC at least 3.5 times over the legal limit. Bush's license was reportedly revoked for a DWI conviction within the past 10 years.

Christopher D. Olin, 21, 679 E. Main St., Batavia, is charged with sexual misconduct. Olin is accused of having sexual intercourse with a person without her consent while at his apartment on May 26.

Thomas J. Torres, 47, of 113 Jackson St., Apt. 4, Batavia, is charged with unlawful possession of marijuana. Torres was cited at 1:17 a.m. today in the area of 40 Ellicott St., Batavia.

Richard Devan Westbrook, 22, of Clifton Street, Rochester, was picked up on an arrest warrant for alleged petit larceny. He was turned over to local law enforcement by the Monroe County Sheriff's Office. He was jailed on $1,500 bail.
