MISSING MOOSHOO!

By Arlana Pathammavong

If anyone around the Walden apartments area/Bank Street area or at this point anywhere in town sees an all white cat with a purple collar on, her name is Mooshoo.  She got out the other day and hasn't returned, she's not an outdoor cat, and I just hoped if anyone finds her they could let me know.  She doesn't know this area as I just moved over to this side of town.

If you open up your post in edit mode, there is a row of buttons for text formatting and such on the textarea entry box. In the lower left is a little yellow button that looks like it has mountain peaks on it. Click it ... just keep following the buttons from there.

I certainly hope your pet is found and returned to you. It is always a good idea to put an I.D. tag on your pet's collar. They have a do-it-yourself tag maker inside Petco, for under $10, and there are several sites on the internet that sell customized pet tags that are inexpensive.

My pets each wear a tag with their name on the front, and my name, address and phone on the back. Tags come with a little ring to attach them to the collar.

It's more costly but also a good idea to have pets microchipped for identification. The Volunteers for Animals at the Genesee County Animal Shelter are one resource for this. Cost is about $25. I wouldn't rely just on the microchipping, because some people won't hassle with it getting it read.

Some people say "my cat's a strictly indoor cat, she never goes outside." But then one day, she does. Honest people will return her if they know how to do so. Tags aren't a guarantee, of course, just a safety net.

Keep us posted!

The last week or two I have seen a cat that looks like this one hanging out on 12 Dellinger Ave. There is no collar and the cat is skidish. There are other cats that hang out there from time to time. It might be worth checking out.

You named your cat after a dish you can get at any chinese resturant? Irony!!! :)

With that being said I am very sorry about you losing your kitty :(

We have a serious "gang" problem here on Dellinger Ave. It seems as though all stray or abandoned cats hang out all summer committing misdemeanors left and right. If your missing a cat stop by on Monday nights when the garbage is out for pick up ! Plenty to choose from but beware of a few skunks posing as a cat !
