Person struck by lightening outside Wal-Mart

By Howard B. Owens

A person reportedly suffered only a minor injury after being struck by lightening outside of Wal-Mart in Batavia at about 11:30 a.m.

At this time, no further information is available.

What about Tops on Friday afternoon? The power was out, and they had their emergency lights on. The staff was scrambling to put plastic up on all the dairy and produce exposed. They continued to allow people to shop in low lighting (kind of nice, actually) only to get to the check-out to enormous long lines. Then after standing there for a period of time we were all told that they wouldn't be checking out any more people. We were told to leave the baskets with the groceries.

Why don't they have something in place with the registers to keep business moving? Especially if they are going to continue to allow customers in to the building to shop?

Cashiers today have no clue how to make change if the computerized cash register doesn't tell them how much to give back after a transaction.

Now I question going there to buy anything. How much melted food did they return to the shelves to only be sold again? Buyers Beware!
