Video: What's up with New York's border?

Holland Land Office Museum Director Pat Weissend tells us why our forebears saw fit to end New York state at Lake Erie instead of just continuing on to the Mississippi... or on to the Pacific. Why not? Pat tells us. Also included in this third installment of our series on what's going on over at that museum is Pat's explanation of why Transit Road is called Transit Road. Really, this one's a gem, folks. Enjoy!

Being just new to this site-- I was pleased with the explanation of transit road and New York State being mapped out. I look forward to more at this site.

Tammy: Glad to hear you enjoyed the video. The Holland Land Office Museum is a treasure trove of interesting factoids that Pat does a fantastic job of bringing to life. If you liked this video, you should check out the others in the series. 'How do I do that?' you ask. Click on 'Tags' near the top of the page, find 'Holland Land Office Museum', click on that, and you will see all of our posts about anything to do with the museum, including our previous videos there.
