Batavia Muckdogs seek local host families for 2016 baseball season

By Billie Owens

Press release:

Would you like to live with the next Ryan Howard or Chase Utley?

The Batavia Muckdogs are again seeking local families to assist in housing players during the 2016 baseball season.

Anyone can help provide lodging for this year's Muckdogs by either providing space or renting a room, apartment, or home. While many host families come back year after year, the team is always looking to add to their list of availability for the players.

Host families play a crucial role in helping young players feel comfortable in a new environment. Many who have hosted players in the past have had incredibly wonderful experiences. However, with players coming and going throughout the season, we have constant needs as far as housing goes.

The 2016 season runs from June 17 until Sept. 5 and players typically range from 18-23 years of age. Because of the players schedule, they typically spend about 40 nights in their host family home.

Anyone in need of more information on becoming a host family is invited to contact the Muckdogs’ office at (585) 343-5454 or tsick@muckdogs.com. You can also call our housing coordinator Shirley Fanara directly at (585) 356-3411.

The Batavia Muckdogs are the short-season, Class A affiliate of the Miami Marlins and are the last remaining founding member of the New York-Penn League, dating back to 1939. The Batavia Muckdogs are operated by the neighboring Rochester Red Wings.

Location: Dwyer Stadium, 299 Bank St., Batavia, NY 14020

I would like to live with the next Billie Owens, this one is about half used up, hates me and is already claimed by another caveman and I still don't know her and yet like her because I am like her in so many ways that Howard has not banned me from the Batavian yet nor traded her in on a new young one since he lost weight. Sometimes it is hard to come up with a meaningful comment but I do the best I can because I hate seeing comment sections (always the best part) without any comments. Man up women of Batavia and tell me you hate me for the same reasons you love Donald Rump Bump. I'm not rich but neither is he, the big fat lying cry baby racist.

You make me laugh, George. Not always, but often enough. You can be as intemperate as Otis in Mayberry, so maybe it's just that you're another guy who needs treatments of some sort; I guess most of us do. I'm sure I shouldn't say all this, and so encourage your infamous delinquencies, but what the heck. Your nonsense trumps (whoopsie!) the usual and predictable droning and kvetch-fest fare. And sometimes your nonsense gives off a little light. So, good for you.

Scott, give me a couple of verifiable facts about anything and I can fill in the rest. I used to publish a Union Newsletter for fun and because my wife was a Union President for twelve years without an Editor who pleased her. I could please her there when I couldn't please her anywhere else.
People don't read the comments if there are no comments and the more they disagree the more they read. reading is a good thing, if you can read between the lines. That's why P.T.Trump loves AOL, the only news source for his supporters to rant. I love AOL too but I have the Batavian for my home town feel comments and I appreciate the hell out of that. There, Billie, I said another dirty word. H E double hockey sticks, man hockey sucks.
