Pavilion ~ William L. Lamb, age 45, passed away peacefully on Thursday, February 26, 2015 at Strong Memorial Hospital, surrounded by his loving family.

    

Will was born February 4, 1970 in Batavia, a son of Rosemary Smith and the late Earl William Lamb.

     Will had exceptional math skills and enjoyed working with his hands to putter and build things.  He also had the incredible gift to make everyone laugh.  He was quick to joke, poke fun when the chance arose and reminisce about the good times from the past.  His positive attitude was infectious.  His glass was always half full, never empty.  Spending time with family and friends was Will's greatest joy.  We will miss him dearly. Gone from this earth, but never from our hearts.

     "The Golden Gates stood open, God saw you needed rest, His garden must be beautiful, He only takes the best."

     Will is survived by his loving wife of 14 years, Mardell Parmenter Lamb; children, Tiffany Rose of Spencerport and William II at home; his mother, Rosemary Penepent of Stafford; step-children, Vincent Longhany and Liana Longhany; step-sisters and brother, Christine Cannon of Corfu, Cheryl Carey of Batavia and Nicholas Carey of FL; mother-in-law, Mary L. Cordes; brothers-in-law, Tom Parmenter and Tim (Denise) Parmenter; best friend, Mark Dickes of Pavilion; his crazy cat, "Silly Girl", along with many nieces and nephews.

     In addition to his father, he was predeceased by his step-father, Gerald Carey.

     There are no prior calling hours and services will be announced at a later date.

Ronald M. Brown, 53, of Corfu went to his heavenly home while surrounded by his loving family and his furry companion Skamp on February 25, 2015 following a lengthy battle with cancer. He was born September 6 1961, in Buffalo to Dawn (Roger) Hill of Elma. He is preceded in death by his father-in-law Conrad Zalewski.

Ron was the loving devoted husband of 19 years to Elizabeth (Zalewski) Brown and loving devoted father to Katelyn “Punkin” and Nicholas “Buddy” Brown. He loved his family with all his heart and soul. Everything that he did showed his love and devotion to his family. Ron was always there to lend a helping hand to family and friends. Ron worked for Eastern Tank Services in Amherst New York until he became disabled in 2011.  The Brown Family would like to thank the Visiting Nurse Association for providing wonderful care and support during this difficult time.  Ron will be missed by all who knew him.

He is survived by his loving wife Elizabeth M (Zalewski) Brown of Corfu; son Nicholas C. Brown of Corfu; daughter Katelyn M. Bergen ~ Gertrude A. Ladd, age 90, of Maple Avenue, passed away Wednesday, February 25, 2015 at her residence following a brief illness.

     Gertrude was born on April 19, 1924 in Amsterdam, N.Y. to the late John and Marjorie Kimmins Hoshko.

     Following her graduation from Amsterdam High School, she attended the Rochester Park Avenue School of Nursing where she received her degree as a Registered Nurse.  She was employed at Lakeside Memorial Hospital, Brockport, N.Y. for 30 years prior to her retirement.  She was a member of the Twig Association of Lakeside Memorial Hospital, the Gillam Grant Community Center, Park Avenue Hospital Alumni Association  and the Covered Bridge Society of Western New York.  Gertrude enjoyed camping, bowling, crocheting and completing jigsaw puzzles.

     She was predeceased by her husband, Wallace in 1983, son, Kevin in 2014, sisters, Ruth and Marjorie, brother, Arthur and two infant children.

     She is survived by her children, Eugene (Mary Dixon) of California, Ronald (Marsha) of Batavia, Donna Ladd of Waterford, NY, Joanne Ladd and Brian Ladd (Susan Wilson) at home, Timothy (Susan) of Oklahoma, Dennis (Rochele) of Holley; predeceased son, Kevin's fiance, Ann Gardner; brother-in-law, Walter Wehnau; 12 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.

Alvin Wood Jr. (Woody, Sonny) of Perry, was called to heaven on Tuesday February 24, 2015. Woody is preceded in death by his parents Alvin (Emma) Wood Sr.; daughter Kimberly Wood and brother Richard Wood.

Woody recently celebrated his 80^th birthday on January 23, 2015. He was a graduate of the class of 1954 of Perry Central School. He was married to Coralyn (McClurg) Wood for 58 years. Woody was a member of the Laborers Union in Rochester, New York and worked as a Construction Foreman for many years. He was a life time member of the Perry Center Fire Department and former manager of the Perry Raceway. Woody was also a member of the Army Reserves where he was a Drill Sergeant. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, hiking and spending time with his family.

He is survived by his wife Coralyn (McClurg) Wood; daughter Karen Robb; son Kevin (Lanette) Wood; sisters Evelyn Shaughnessy, Laura (Jim) Richards and sister-in-law Helene (Richard) Wood; grandchildren LeighAnn (Mitch) Res, Chelsea Robb, Brighton Wood, Kendrick Wood, Camden Wood Sarah Wood; and great-grandchildren Elijah and Sarah Rex.

Thomas J. Pierson, age 57, of Perry died on Thursday February 19, 2015 at Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester. He was born in Warsaw, New York on May 19, 1957 a son of the late Gordon J. Pierson and Gladys (Brown) Pierson of Perry. He is preceded in death by his father Gordon and a brother James.

Tom attended Perry High School. He first started out his working career at the family farm, later worked for Koch Trucking in Leicester, then M&T Trucking in Pavilion. Tom eventually became a self employed truck driver owning TJP Trucking Inc., after retiring from truck driving he went to work for the Town of Perry where he was the sexton of Glenwood Cemetery. Mr. Pierson was a member of the Mt. Morris Congregation of the Jehovah's Witnesses. He enjoyed gardening, wildlife, spending time out in the nature, and hunting with his sons. Many will remember Tom on how he liked to joke with people.

He is survived by his wife: Lucretia “Lucy” (Piraino) Pierson who he married on August 26, 1978, his mother Gladys Pierson of Perry; 2 sons Shane (Jennifer) Riolo of Rome, Joshua (Melissa) Pierson of Wyoming;  sister Jeanine Pierson of Warsaw; brother: Steven (Terry) Pierson of Perry;2 grandchildren Noah and Lily Riolo along with many nieces and nephews.

Lois M. Bush, 84, of Silver Springs passed peacefully into the arms of the Lord on Sunday (February 22, 2015) surrounded by the unwavering love of her family.

Lois devoted her life to her loving husband, Tom, of 60 years and together they raised eight children.   She was employed at the former Agway Petroleum and at Bush Hill Florist. Lois was an active member of St. Isdore’s Catholic Parish (St. Mary’s Church in Silver Springs), where she and Tom volunteered at Friday night bingo.  Lois was also a member of the Perry Chamber of Commerce for many years. 

Lois enjoyed Sunday gatherings with her family.  Lois and Tom celebrated each year by traveling to their favorite vacation spot in Florida.  She enjoyed cooking, baking and gardening.

She will forever be remembered by her family and friends for her generous spirit, warm hugs, unconditional love, and blueberry muffins.

Lois considered her life to be blessed in countless ways including her loving children, Joe Bush of Silver Springs, Sue (Greg) Walton of Bliss, Debbie (Brian) Gross of Castile, Marty (Doug Hammond) Bush of Rochester, Linda J. Bush of Silver Springs, Lori A. Bush of Cape Coral, Florida, Tim (Linda) Bush of Silver Springs, and Tom (Becky) Bush of Perry along with 16 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Thomas S. Bush, who passed away in 2013 and parents, Gordon and Genevieve (Granger) Woodard.

SHIRLEY A. RADLEY - age 79, of Batavia, NY went home peacefully to her heavenly Father on Thursday afternoon February 19, 2015 at The Highlands at Brighton. She was born January 27, 1936 in Rochester, NY to the late Clarence and Edna (Swager) Alvut, also preceded in death by her son, Gregory; brothers, E. George Alvut & Clarence Alvut, Jr.; sisters, Jean Stanton and Beverly Squires.

   Shirley was a 1953 graduate of Byron Bergen Central School and retired from Rochester Institute of Technology in 1999, she also worked at Chloride and Leroy Dry Cleaners. She was a life time member of the Stafford Ladies Auxiliary and the Batavia Bridle & Saddle Club. A member of the Flip-Flop Club and Morganville Hobby Club along with being a past 4-H leader. Shirley loved and adored her grandchildren, playing cards, reading, knitting, following hot air balloons and enjoyed being a horse show mom/grandma.

   Surviving are her loving children; Roy (Judy) of LeRoy, Dennis (Florine) of Basom, Deborah (Jerry) Klotzbach of Basom, Thomas (Barbara) of Stafford, Judy (Michael) Anderson of Stafford, Kenneth (Lorie Yasses) of Batavia, Susan (William) Meier of Corfu and Ronald (Julie) of Batavia; sister, Vicki (Gary) Walbridge of AL; sisters-in-law, Barbara Alvut of Batavia and Virginia Alvut of FL; 17 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren along with several nieces, nephews and many special friends.

Roland John Lamb, 99, of Cowlesville, NY, died on Tuesday, February 17 at home. Born in Darien, NY, Roland was the son of the late Henry Champany and Ida Welker Lamb.  He attended Corfu High School, where he was active in 4-H and played baritone horn in the band.  After graduation, Roland continued working on the family farm and taking night shifts at Curtiss Wright Aircraft as well as marching in local bands including a clown band and a variety of Volunteer Fireman bands.  Enlisting in 1941, he proudly served in the US Army and rose to the rank of Captain.  Roland saw action in the European Theater including the Normandy Invasion.

Roland married Carolyn Reileinon February 23, 1946 and they settled into the business of running the family dairy farm and raising a family.  Later, they both worked at Scott Aviation in Lancaster NY. He had an active and curious mind and enjoyed sharing his enthusiasm for astronomy and the natural world around him.  Upon retirement, he discovered  his love of baking and his hobo bread, scones and brownies were much appreciated by all.  He was the family historian and could be counted on to tell many entertaining stories of growing up on the family farm.

Roland is predeceased by his wife Carolyn, sister Elsie and brothers and sister-in-laws Leslie (Margaret) and Kenneth (Marion).  He is survived by his brothers Gerald (Grace) and Evan (Vonceil) ; daughters Alyson (John) and Debra; grandchildren Meghan (Nathan) and Jeremy (Alyson) Deans, Kate (Jeff) and Nathan Henry and great grandchildren Michael and Matthew Smith.  He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews and a much loved extended family.

There will be a memorial service held this spring.  In lieu of flowers, the family suggests a donation to the Home Care and Hospice of Wyoming County, the Cowlesville Fire Company, The USO or a charity of your choice. Nancy passed away peacefully in her mother’s arms on Wednesday morning, February 18, 2015 at Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester, NY into the arms of Jesus in Heaven. She was born on June 1, 1976 in Batavia, NY to the late Richard L. Kriger, who passed away March 17, 2010, and Shirley L. (Cramer) Kriger of Attica. Nancy was in her early 30’s when she was diagnosed with Gordon Holmes disease at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston.

Nancy graduated from Alexander Central School, Genesee Community College, and SUNY Brockport, with an Associate Degree in Criminal Justice. Among other jobs, she was a probation officer for the Genesee County Probation Department. Nancy liked to line dance and listen to country music. She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church in Attica.

She is survived by her brother, Richard L. Kriger, Jr., of Attica; her sister, Shelly L. (Sean) Sweeney of Orlando, FL; nephews, Mark J. (Hannah) Ostertag, Jr. of Bergen; Sean M. Sweeney, Jr. of Orlando, FL; grandnephew Micah Ostertag of Bergen; and many aunts, uncles and cousins.

There will be no prior calling hours. A Celebration of Nancy’s Life will be held in the Spring. She will be laid to rest in Forest Hill Cemetery, Attica.

GORDON R. AMIDON - age 95, of Batavia, NY died peacefully Wednesday morning February 18, 2015 at the New York State Veterans Home @ Batavia with his family at his side. He was born March 26, 1919 in Batavia, NY to the late Ralph and Ruth (Mapes) Amidon, also preceded in death by his wife of 73 years, Dorothy (Foster) Amidon on July 21, 2012; infant daughter, Darylynn; daughter, Madonna Babcock and brother, Gerald Amidon.

   Mr. Amidon was a Marine Corp Veteran having served with the 2nd Marine Division during WWII in the Asiatic Pacific Area and participated in action against the enemy in Okinawa. He was a lifelong truck driver working for Dohler-Jarvis for many years along with other various companies in the area and was an avid reader of the newspaper. He and his late wife loved to travel, enjoyed the years they spent in Florida and the many animals they shared over the years.

   Surviving are his loving daughters, Kathleen (David) Cutitta of Batavia, Tamara (late Charles) Augello of Elba and Dawn (Paul) Hough of Elba; 15 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, 4 great-great grandchildren along with many nieces and nephews.

   Gordon's family will be present from 4-7 p.m. Friday February 20, 2015 at the MICHAEL S. TOMASZEWSKI FUNERAL & CREMATION CHAPEL, LLC 4120 WEST MAIN STREET ROAD BATAVIA, NEW YORK 14020 prayers will be recited 10:30 a.m. Saturday February 21, 2015 followed by a Mass of Christian Burial 11:00 a.m. at Resurrections Parish (St. Mary's Site). Rolland Gustav Kickbush, “Kick”, 87, passed from this life on February 13, 2015, in Evanston, IL .  He has joined his wife of 47 years, Carol Kickbush, who died in 1998.  A long term resident of Batavia, New York, he is survived by three daughters, Karen and her husband, Allan Dennis of Evanston, IL; Julianne and her husband, Morris Haas of Richmond, Virginia; and Barbara Kickbush and her spouse, Kathy Nicol of Pulaski and Buffalo, New York.  He is also survived by three granddaughters, Amanda, Carrie and Kirby, and three great grandsons, Atticus, Finneas and Calder, along with his brothers and sister: Jeanette Kickbush of Gowanda, New York (wife of his late brother Robert), Raymond (and Nancy) Kickbush of Valparaiso, Indiana; Richard (and Sherry) Kickbush, of Branson, Missouri, Edna (and the late Paul) Kuder of Gahanna, Ohio; and 19 nieces and nephews scattered across the U.S.

Rolland is the son of Rena Boberg and Leonard Kickbush of Cattaraugus, New York.  He served in the U.S. Army at the end of World War II, and recalls his time in Japan handling army discharge paperwork as an adventure for a boy from a small town in Upstate New York.  Following the war, he took classes at Bryant Stratton Business School in Buffalo, New York, and worked for International Harvester.  In the early 1960s he became Manager of Batavia Farm Equipment for many years. He also enjoyed golfing and playing cards with friends, Scrabble and Buffalo Bills football games with his daughters.  Rolland loved people and life itself and his family will celebrate his life in a Memorial Service at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Batavia where he was a member for years, on Tuesday, May 12, at 10:30 a.m.

Stephen Joseph Ferry Sr., 76, of Silver Spring, NY passed away Sunday February 15, 2015, after a long illness.  He was born in Darien Center on October 31, 1938 to the late Michael Ferry and Salome Nawrocki.  He was predeceased by siblings:  Irene Muniak, Henry Ferry, Genevieve Sczepanski, Alice Breyer & Mary Ferry. 

Steve graduated from Alden High School with high honors.  Steve started his work life delivering milk for his brother Hank at the young age of 14.  He worked for Ferry Construction, Depew, until he founded S.J.F. Construction Inc. in 1982 and laid a strong foundation for future generations. Steve served the community of Darien for over 24 years as Town Judge and then Supervisor, until his retirement from public service in 1993.  He was also proud to be a past volunteer for the Darien fire department. Steve’s passions besides work were walking in the Florida sunshine, golf, dancing, traveling and handyman work for his neighbors.

Stephen is survived by his loving companion and dance partner, Betty McClurg; sons Stephen (Elise) Ferry Jr., Jeffrey (Laurie) Ferry; daughters Donna Ferry, Jennifer (Kevin) Kane; beautiful grandchildren Sarah, Stephen III, Emily, Andrew, Hannah, Madison, & Spenser.

LeRoy ~ James F. Murphy Jr., age 87, of W. Bergen Road, joined his valentine and loving wife,

Adelaide on Friday, Feb. 13^th.

     Jim was born in Syracuse, N.Y. to James and Marguerite Roache Murphy Sr.

     His love for his family as a husband, dad and grandfather was of true devotion. He was a proud U.S. Navy veteran of World War II and a member of Our Lady of Mercy Parish. He had a successful career as a bank manager for Security Trust Co, The Bank of LeRoy and the Bank of Castile.

     He is survived by his children, Mike (Rhonda) of Batavia, Jim (Cheri) of Fairport, Tom, Mary Ann Wortman, Pat Murphy and Dan (Liz) all of LeRoy; 16 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; brother and sister-in-law, Jack and Gloria Anson, daughters-in-law Lisa Maxwell, Barb Murphy, many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife of 58 yrs, Adelaide Anson Murphy in 2011, his son-in-law, Robert Wortman and great-grandson, Aiden.

     Calling hours Wednesday 4 ~ 7 PM at the Falcone Family Funeral & Cremation Service Inc., 8700 Lake Rd. (Rt. 19), LeRoy.  His Rite of Christian Burial, with military honors; will be Thursday 10:00 AM at Our Lady of Mercy Parish, St. Peter's Church, 44 Lake Street.  Interment in St. Francis Cemetery will be private.

     In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to St. Jude Children's Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
