Mr. Smith was born 64 years ago to the late Revere and Ruby (Finnefrock) Smith.
He retired as the Coordinator of Career Development Services at Erie BOCES 1 in West Seneca. He was a member of the Corfu United Presbyterian Church, Niagara Frontier Automobile Dealers Association and a past member of the Corfu Fire Department. Ron was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, fishing, boating, race cars and traveling. He was a loving husband and father.
He is survived by his wife of 44 years Patricia (Koziel) Smith of Corfu, two sons Scott (Ursula) Smith of Fairport and Todd (Lisa) Smith of Honeoye Falls, NY. Four grandchildren Wyatt, Sarah, AnnMarie and Amelia Smith survive along with several nieces and nephews.

Oakfield - Mrs. Mary B. Roz, age 83, of Oakfield, who worked for U.S. Gypsum in Oakfield for over 40 years, died Monday, August 2, 2010 at home.
Helen Jurkowski, 87, of Rochester died July 29, 2010 at Monroe Community Hospital in Rochester.
Born November 2, 1922 in Cuylerville, NY daughter of the late Julian (Magdalena Kochan) Baginski. Mrs. Jurkowski worked for many, many years at Champion Products in Perry. Longtime member of St. Stanislaus Kostka Church in Perry.
She loved to read, sew, crochet and go on trips with her family. Preceded in death by husband Joseph Jurkowski; brothers Joseph, Frank, and Henry Baginski.
Survived by son Joseph (Kimberley) Jurkowski of Rochester; daughter Diane (Dennis) Pawlowski of Cheektowaga; grandchildren Jennifer Pawlowski; Tammy (John) Beltrano; Adam (Bridget) Jurkowski; Kristen Jurkowski; great-granddaughter Kaylie Beltrano, along with several nieces and nephews also survive.

Elmer L. Billings, 82 of Perry died July 28, 2010 at the Wyoming County Community Hospital in Warsaw. Born March 12, 1928 in Silver Lake, NY son of the late Moore (Meora Johnson) Billings. Mr. Billings was born in Silver Lake, New York on March 12, 1928 a son of the late Moore and Meora Johnson Billings Sr.
He worked for the former Agway Feed Store in Perry for 37 years retiring in 1990. After retirement he worked for the former Cooks Citco service station in Perry for 9 years.He was a member of the Coleman Memorial Free Methodist Church in Perry. He was an avid bowler, bowling on the Senior citizens bowling league, Tuesday night leagues and the Thursday night giants league. He also enjoyed fishing and especially enjoyed spending time with his family.
Preceded in death by wife: Josephine E. Billings who died on November 23, 2007 1 brother: Moore Billings Jr., and 2 sisters: Florence Irvine, and Lillian Bowen.
He is survived by 2 sons: Elmer Jr. (Deborah) Billings of Perry, George Billings of Perry, 7 daughters: Ruth (Richard Sr.) Grasby of Gainesville, Nancy (Karson) Heubusch of Gainesville, Norma (Douglas) Rutherford of Silver Springs, Donna (David Sr.) Grasby of Perry, Jean (Joseph) Monteleone of Warsaw, Dora Spencer of Mt. Morris, and Shirley (Joseph) LaGeorgia of Perry, 1 brother: Herbert Billings of Perry, 4 sisters: Irene Hertzog of Warsaw, Virginia (Charles) Hunsinger of Silver Springs, Betty Alwardt of Attica, and Mary (David) Jones of Warsaw, 23 Grandchildren, 32 Great grandchildren, 3 Great Great Grandchildren, along with many nieces and nephews also survive.

Richard Bruce Ireland, 70 of Alexander, NY died July 27, 2010 at the Cleveland Clinic in Cleveland, OH.
Born October 25, 1939 in Batavia, NY son of the late Bruce (Arlene Potter) Ireland.
Mr. Ireland was a self employed well known electrical contractor for 42 years; prior to that he worked for 10 years at Falcone Electric in Batavia.
He was a member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Parish (Our Lady of Good Counsel Church) in Darien; he enjoyed sports with his children and grandchildren. He enjoyed golf, was an avid Yankee fan and enjoyed helping people whenever he could.
Dick was very involved for many years with the Tri Town Athletics of which he was a founder and a past Commissioner of Baseball.
Preceded in death by his brother Robert Ireland. Survived by his beloved wife of 49 years Anne (Kaczmarek) Ireland of Alexander, five sons Kenneth (Lisa) Ireland of Brockport, Thomas (Debbie) Ireland of Tonawanda, Dennis (Julie) Ireland of Connecticut, Douglas (Denise) Ireland of Williamsville and Gregory (fiancé Ginelle) Ireland of Batavia.
He is also survived by his brother David (Diane) Ireland of Texas, his sister Florine Fenton of Batavia, his sister-in-law Anne Ireland of Batavia, 14 grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Age 93, of Batavia, retired Pembroke School Nurse died peacefully Monday evening July 26, 2010 at the home of her sister while under the care of Hospice.
She was born March 22, 1917 in Batavia to the late Paul & Concetta (DiCarlo) Martino, also preceded in death by brothers Danny, Paul & Vincent Martino; sisters Beatrice Messina, Helen Gaurino & Fanny Bolognese; brothers-in-law Sam Ognibene, Sam Gaurino, Charles Messina & Frank Bolognese; sisters-in-law Sarah and Laura Martino.
Rose was a member of Ascension Parish and very devoted to her large extended family, who adored her for her generosity, giving nature, her pies and jello. Although having no children of her own, she cheerfully spoiled the children and grandchildren of her brothers and sisters. It was not unusual to get a call to stop by her house, she might have "goodies" for the kids, chocolate cream pie or a nice bread pudding. Many nieces and nephews owe their extensive knowledge of birds and bird feeding to Aunt Rose, who was particularly fond of woodpeckers.
Surviving is her dear sister and caretaker of the last few months Kay Ognibene of Batavia; her brother Anthony (Helen) Martino of Grand Island along with many nieces, nephews and cousins.
There is no prior visitation. Prayers will be recited 9:30 AM Friday July 30, 2010 at the Michael S. Tomaszewski Funeral & Cremation Chapel, LLC 4120 West Main Street Road Batavia, NY 14020 followed by a 10:00 AM Mass of Christian Burial at Ascension Parish (St. Anthony's Site) celebrated by Father Eugene Slomba. Adeline Kisiel, 92 of Rochester, NY died July 27, 2010 at Westgate Nursing Home in Rochester.
Born October 31, 1917 in Batavia, NY daughter of the late Vincent (Eleanor Twardowski) Zielinski. Mrs. Kisiel worked for many years at Kisiel Die Casting in Batavia. She was a long time member of Sacred Heart Church.
Preceded in death by her husband Cecil Kisiel (1972); brothers Anthony and Richard Zielinski. Survived by her sons Cecil (Pauline) Kisiel of Rochester; David (Rosalie) Kisiel of Batavia; brother Walter (Gladys) Zielinski of Batavia; four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren along with several nieces and nephews.

Batavia - Mrs. Joan C. Waters, 79, of Batavia, died Monday, July 26, 2010at Genesee County Nursing Home, in Batavia.
Mrs. Waters was born October 11, 1930 in Watertown, a daughter of the late Ray and Lois (Lawton) Eveleigh.
She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Batavia, was active in the Boy Scouts of America and enjoyed her family.
Her husband, Stanley O. Waters, died July 23, 1996.
Survivors include 4 sons, Mark Waters and Andrew (Janet) Waters, both of Lehigh Acres, FL, Lance (Margaret) Waters of Naples, FL and Ray (Diane) Waters of Batavia; 2 daughters, Cynthia (John) Ciszkowski of Blasdell and Amy Guthrie of Batavia; 2 sisters, Kay Phillips of Watertown and Gail (Robert) Barnes of NM; 12 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
She was the mother of the late Duff Waters and sister of the late Jean Lunderman.

Thomas Alan Cortright, 56, of Basom, died Sunday (July 25, 2010) at his residence after a lengthy illness.
He was born in Batavia on December 17, 1953, a son of Eleanor Sullivan Cortright of Basom and the late William Cortright.
Mr. Cortright was employed as a grounds keeper for the NYS Police Troop A Headquarters in Batavia. He enjoyed fishing and hunting and was a restorer of fine treasures. He was devoted to veterans organizations and a member and Past Commander of the Holley Post # 202 Veterans of Foreign Wars, member of the Vietnam Veterans of America Chapter 193 and a member of the Alabama Volunteer Fire Co.
He served with the US Army "Blue Ghost, 49th Cavalry Division," in the Vietnam War and was the recipient of, The Distinguished Flying Cross, "For Heroism While Participating in Aerial Flight Over the Republic of Vietnam on January 15, 1973." The Army Air Medal, "For Meritorious Achievement While Participating in Aerial Flight Over the Republic of Vietnam during the Period of November 9, 1972 to November 26, 1972." The Army Commendation Medal, "For Performance of Meritorious Service in Support of Military Operations Against Communist Aggression in the Republic of Vietnam, Absolutely Performed Under Extremely Adverse Conditions During the Period From August 2, 1972 to February 5, 1973." The Vietnam Cross of Gallantry with Palm, Vietnam Campaign Medal W/ 60 Dev., Aircraft Crewman Badge, National Defense Medal and Good Conduct Medal.
Surviving, besides his mother, are: his wife, Mary Ann Brodfuerer Cortright; a son and daughter-in-law, Jeffrey and Jennifer Brodfuerer, of North Dakota; a daughter and son-in-law, Gina and Brian Boldt, of Akron; two grandchildren, Dominick Boldt and Sara Brodfuerer; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Ana and David Weatherbee, of Alabama, NY, and Donna and Wayne Riexinger, of Corfu; four brothers and two sisters-in-law, William and Faith Cortright of Wyoming, NY, John Cortright (Sherry Williams), of Batavia, Robert and Sandy Cortrigh, of Alabama, NY, and Frank Cortright, of Pembroke. Several nieces and nephews also survive.

Of Batavia, NY ~ Age 94, a lifelong carpenter died peacefully Saturday morning July 24, 2010 at the New York State Veteran's Home @ Batavia. He was born May 21, 1916 in Medina, NY to the late John & Frances (Rybarczyk) Morien. Preceded in death by his son Lance Morien, brothers Edward, Joseph, Thomas & Stanley Morien, sisters Regina Morien, Bernadette Dutcher & Cecelia Morien. He attended Sacred Heart and Medina High School, Mr. Morien entered the United States Army with Co. F of the 108th Infantry and served in the Asian Pacific Theatre. Wounded in battle he received the Purple Heart and various other service medals for the time he served until he was honorably discharged as a Staff Sergeant on August 5, 1945. He joined the Louis Viele Construction Co. before retiring from the Rochester Local #85. Mr. Morien enjoyed woodworking, gardening and was an avid fisherman. A member of Ascension Parish (Sacred Heart) and its Holy Name Society, Polish Falcons of America Nest #493, Life Member of the DAV (Disabled American Veterans) and the Veness Strollo Post #1602 of the American Legion.
Surviving is his beloved wife of 68 years Sophie (Zaremski) Morien of Batavia; loving children Linda (James) Nalbach of Batavia and Randy (Susan) Morien of Honoye Falls, NY; daughter-in-law Irene Morien of PA; 6 grandchildren Jay (Kelly Gannon) Nalbach, Eric Nalbach, Chelsey, Karlie, Anna & Riley Morien; two great-granddaughters Isabella & Haylie Morien; sister Roslie (Gerald) Sullivan of N. Tonawanda, NY; sisters-in-law Helen Tomski of Batavia & Helen Morien of Medina; brother-in-law Raymond Zaremski of PA along with many nieces, nephews and cousins.
