RICHARD H. DILLON

Batavia - Mr. Richard H. Dillon, 89, of Batavia, a former foreman for Scalia’s Landscaping in Batavia, passed away on Monday, August 25, 2014 at New York State Veteran's Home.

Mr. Dillon was born April 28, 1925 in Albion, a son of the late Henry Joseph and Harriett Jedrzejewski Dillon. A member of Sacred Heart Church and the VFW Post No. 1602 and proudly served his country during World War II with the United States Navy.

His wife, Mary Reilly Dillon passed away in 1993.

Survivors include his children, Richard D. Dillon, Linda (William F.) McBride and Lori Johnston, all of Batavia; his son-in-law, Kenneth Blank of Barre; seven grandchildren, Christine (Robert) Hill of Rochester, William C. (Joelle) McBride of Spangdahlem AFB, Germany, Aubrey (Kasie) Way of Rochester, Caitlyn Johnston of Buffalo, Stephen, Michael and Gregory Blank, all of Barre; four great-grandchildren Alexis and Aiden Hill of Rochester, Alex McBride of Germany and Liam Way of Rochester; his sister, Margaret Koneski of Medina and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

He was the father of the late Melanie Blank who died in 2000 and brother of the late Henry R., Gordon, Eleanor and Donald Dillon.

Friends are invited to call on Wednesday from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Bohm-Calarco-Smith Funeral Home, 308 East Main Street, Batavia where services will follow at 7 p.m. Graveside services, with full military honors, will be held on Saturday at 11 a.m. at St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Ellicott Street, Batavia.

Carlia A. Yarington, 72 of Medina passed away on Friday August 22, 2014 at Orchard Manor in Medina. She was born December 16, 1941 to the late Peter (Estelle Konieczka) Bystrak.

Mary Ann Shuler

Batavia ~ Mary Ann Shuler, age 67, of Crystal Lane, passed away Thursday morning (August

21, 2014) at Crossroads House surrounded by her loving family.

     Mrs. Shuler was born December 18, 1946 in Batavia, a daughter of the late John and Shirley Neth Roth.

     She was a 1964 graduate of LeRoy Central School.  She enjoyed music, dancing, family activities, casino outings, shopping and reading.  She worked at CB Foods - Curtice Burns, Inc. in LeRoy for 28 years as the Transportation Manager.    

     She is survived by her loving husband, Jerry Shuler Sr., her children, Timothy (Debra Demarest) Beaumont of LeRoy and Tamera Beaumont of LeRoy; her step-children, Jerald Shuler Jr. of Batavia, Toni (Eric) Richenberg of Byron, Scott (Tara Perry) Shuler of Batavia and Mark (Cheryl) Shuler of Bergen; granddaughters, Jennifer (Keith) Kreitzbender, Christina (Kagney) King, Stephanie (Josh Kirsop) Merica, Kathryn Beaumont and Samantha (James Robinson) Merica; great-grandsons, Ethan Kreitzbender and Eonjay Robinson; several step-grandchildren;  her sister, Donna (Allan) Loughborough of Albion, along with one niece and one nephew.

     The family wishes to thank Dr. Lori Ferris, Paula, Laura and Diana at the Caledonia Medical Group; Dr. Eric Kim, Debra, Mary and Melissa of the Wilmot Cancer Center; Dr. Sassaman and Marcia of the Pallative Care Group at Strong Memorial Hospital and Kathy, Frank and all the wonderful amazing volunteers at the Crossroads House.

Robert W. Dwight

Robert W. Dwight, 96 of North Java, passed away Thursday August 21, 2014 at Wyoming County Skilled Nursing Facility in Warsaw. He was born April 22, 1918 in Brooklyn to the late Lester (Fannie) Dwight. He is preceded in death by a sister Ruth Ritter. Bob loved his cat Boots.

Maureen C. Miggins

LeRoy ~ Maureen C. Miggins, age 88, of Munson Street, passed away Wednesday afternoon (August 20, 2014) at the LeRoy Village Green Nursing Home.

     Mrs. Miggins was born June 24, 1926 in LeRoy, a daughter of the late Clarence and Mary Carolan Blood.

     She will be remembered as a loving wife, mother and grandmother, who was a practical joker, especially around the holidays.  She also thoroughly enjoyed shopping and gardening.  She was a retired sales clerk, having worked at both the Bette Shoppe and Economy Store.

     She is survived by her loving husband of 67 years, Francis E. Miggins, her son, Michael (Kay) Miggins of LeRoy and her daughter, Phyllis (Gerald) Ashley of LeRoy, grandchildren, Carrie (Mark) Baubie, Brian (Heather) Ashley, Robert (Lori) Miggins and Patrick (Raelle) Ashley; great-grandchildren, Nicholas and Brody Baubie, Devin Sherman, Cole Ashley, Taylor, Morgan and Dylan Miggins and Jackson Ashley; sister-in-law, Barb Brown, along with several nieces and nephews.

     She was predeceased by her siblings, Rosemary (Larry) Scheffreen, Betty (Victor) Stella and Richard Blood.

     There are no prior calling hours. Services and interment will be private at the convenience of the family.  Memorials are suggested to the "Activities Fund" at the LeRoy Village Green Nursing Home, 10 Munson St., LeRoy, NY 14482.

Betty Orlando

LeRoy ~ Betty Orlando, age 87, formerly of Lake Street, passed away Sunday afternoon (Aug. 17, 2014) at the LeRoy Village Green Nursing Home surrounded by her loving family.

     Mrs. Orlando was born May 27, 1927 in LeRoy, a daughter of the late Walter and Lillian Woodruff Trimble.

      She will be remembered as a loving mother and grandmother, who enjoyed cooking and baking for her family.  She was a New York Yankees fan and enjoyed crocheting, knitting, reading and shopping.

     She is survived by her children, Joanne Orlando of LeRoy, Joseph (Bev) Orlando of LeRoy and Patricia (Dean) Messina of Dunkirk; her grandchildren, Dawn Orlando, Beth Orlando, Christopher Messina, Andrew Messina and Philip Messina; her great-grandchildren, Josh, Nate, Cristian and Timmy; her sisters-in-law, Sarah Lukas of Batavia and Connie Orlando of Rochester, along with many nieces, nephews, grand-nieces and grand-nephews.

     Mrs. Orlando was predeceased by her husband, Joseph J. Orlando and a great-grandson, Ryan Orlando.

     Family and friends may call on Wednesday from 4 ~ 8 PM at the Falcone Family Funeral & Cremation Service Inc., 8700 Lake Road (Rt. 19), LeRoy.  Her Rite of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday at 10:00 AM at Our Lady of Mercy Parish, St. Joseph's Oratory, 27 Lake Street, LeRoy, with interment to follow in St. Francis Cemetery.

Patricia A. Morris

Patricia A. Morris, 63, of Batavia passed away peacefully under the care of her husband and daughter on August 17, 2014 at her residence. She was born November 6, 1950 in Batavia to the late Elbert R. (Doris Ostrowski) Ashton Sr. She is preceded in death by her sister Leona (Ashton) Benson and brother Elbert R. Ashton Jr.

Patricia was a loving, devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She was retired from Kaufman Footwear in Batavia. She enjoyed family gatherings as well as cooking for her family. She also loved to travel around the country with her husband.

Patricia is survived by her husband John Morris of Batavia; daughters Alyson (Christopher) Avino of Batavia; Heather (Rod) Martin of Batavia; sisters Marcia (Joseph) Palmer of Batavia; Andrea (Robert) Rindell of Corfu; Norma (James) Padilla of Orlando, FL; Deborah (John) Swabb of Oakfield; Doddie (John) McMillan of Batavia; brother-in-law Raymond Benson Sr. of Batavia; sister-in-law Linda (Sanders) Ashton of Albion; grandchildren Emma and Evan Howard of Batavia survive along with many nieces and nephews.

Joan L. Boyce

Joan L. Boyce, 85 of Batavia, passed away on August 16, 2014 at United Memorial Medical Center. She was born February 8, 1929 in in Batavia to the late Martin (Mary Brundage) Kearns. She is preceded in death by her beloved husband Ivan C. Boyce, grandson Michael Boyce, brothers Vern, Richard and Roland Kearns, sister Florence Jones.

Joan was above all things a mother and an excellent one at that. She loved baking with her grandchildren especially Christmas cookies, molasses cookies and blackberry pie. Joan loved bingo and was a Thomas Kinkaid enthusiast.

Joan is survived by her children Martin (Bonnie) of Augusta, GA; Marvin of Elba; Steven (Linda) of Barre Center, Jeffrey of Malone, NY; Brian (Chita) of LeRoy, Laura of Batavia; Craig (Susan) of Cheyenne, WY; Brenda Boyce of Batavia; Carol (Jerry) Tuller of Batavia; Daniel (Cheryl) Boyce of Elba; Dawn Cuthbert of Batavia; Peggy (Larry) Norway of Elba; sister Peg Wilcrout of Batavia; 23 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren along with many nieces and nephews.

PATRICIA A. BERMINGHAM

PATRICIA A. BERMINGHAM - Age 75, of Batavia, died peacefully Thursday afternoon August 14, 2014 at home while being cared for by her loving daughters and sisters. She was born July 24, 1939 in Batavia, a daughter of the late Joseph and Josephine (Lamendola) Panepento, also preceded in death by her husband, Donald J. Bermingham in 1994, son, Robert S. Bermingham in 2010 and brother, Charles "Sonny" (late Joann) Panepento.

   Pat was a lifelong member of Resurrection Parish and enjoyed her devoted dog, Molly. She will be remembered as a wonderful, caring wife, mother, sister and grandmother.

   Surviving are her beloved daughters, Julie Bermingham of Rochester and Kelly (Kent R. Ewell) Bermingham of Batavia; loving sisters, Mickey (late Frank) Lachnicht, Mary Jane (Gary) Kiefer all of Batavia and Rose (Richard) Wright of LeRoy; grandson, Joshua R. Bermingham along with many nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends.

   Family and friends are invited to attend Pat's Mass of Christian Burial 12:00 p.m. Monday August 18, 2014 at Resurrection Parish (St. Joseph's Site) 303 East Main Street Batavia, New York 14020. Tessacca T. Tundo

Tessacca T. Tundo, 26 of Batavia, passed away on Thursday August 14, 2014. She was born August 3, 1988 in Ft. Lauderdale, FL, to Timothy (Genienne) Tundo of E. Bethany and Jilleen (Richard) Schoonover of E. Bethany.

Tessacca enjoyed swimming and music especially the Beatles. She loved her dog Chichi.

Along with her parents she is survived by her daughter Natalia Cessna of E. Bethany; brothers Cosmo (Sarah) Tundo of Pavilion; Ricky and Emmitt Shcoonover of E. Bethany; sisters Taralee and Leigha Tundo of E. Bethany, along with 2 nieces and 2 nephews.

Rose Ranlett

Brockport - Rose (Martin) Ranlett, formerly a longtime resident of Corfu, passed away Friday (August 8, 2014).

Rose was the beloved wife of the late Herman Ranlett.

Rose was the devoted mother of Dr. Robert (Karen), Elaine (Dr. Richard) Chrzanowski, Timothy (Michelle), James (Cora), David (Cindy) and Nancy (Ryan) Peterson; 17 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. Also survived by a brother, August (Laura) Martin.

There is no prior visitation. A memorial service will take place on Saturday, August 16, 2014 at 11 a.m. at the Akron Free Methodist Church, 6 Scotland Road, Akron, NY 14001.

Marilyn Natoli

Marilyn Natoli, 72, of Burbank California formerly of Batavia passed away Thursday August 7, 2014 in California. She was born on December 13, 1941 in Batavia to the late Anthony (Carmela Zazzara) Natoli.

Ms. Natoli moved from Batavia in 1962 and she retired in 2013 from Sherman Oaks Community Hospital in California where she was a registered nurse. She loved to watch baseball especially the NY Yankees and LA Dodgers. She also enjoyed playing video poker in Las Vegas.

She is survived by her son Michael (Melissa) Camp of Burbank CA, daughter Debbie Gainey of Burbank, CA; brother Thomas (Sandra) Natoli of Chicago, IL, granddaughter Lindsy Gainey and great grandson Dillon. Marilyn also leaves behind many nieces, nephews and friends in California and Batavia.   

There will be no prior calling hours. Friends are invited to attend a 10:00 AM Mass of Christian Burial on Saturday September 13, 2014 at Resurrection Parish, 18 Ellicott Street Batavia, New York. She will be laid to rest in St. Josephs Cemetery, Batavia

EARL F. PUNDT

EARL F. PUNDT - Age 84, of Batavia, died peacefully at Rochester General Hospital on August 12, 2014 in Rochester. He was born October 8, 1929 in Batavia, a son of the late Harry and Pearl (Goodenbury) Pundt, also preceded in death by brothers, Harry & George Pundt.

   Mr. Pundt was a US Army Veteran and a longtime member of Resurrection Parish. He was a former member of the Elba Volunteer Fire Department, enjoyed fishing and miniature golf.

   Surviving is his beloved wife of 54 years, June A. (Thompson) Pundt of Batavia; loving children, Cheryl (Steve) Young of Batavia and Donald (Kathy McElfresh) Pundt of Akron along with 4 nieces, and a nephew.

   Private funeral services will be held by the family and burial will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery. Memorials in his memory are suggested to a charity of the donor's choice.

Sherwood J. Garigen

Sherwood J. Garigen, 104 of Darien Center, passed away on Wednesday August 13, 2014 at United Memorial Medical Center in Batavia. He was born January 10, 1910 in Darien to the late John (Anna Ortner) Garigen. Mr. Garigen is preceded in death by his beloved wife Ruth (Schmelzle) Garigen; son Allen, daughter Lu Ann Lapp; brother James; sisters Marie Marzoff and Elma Garigen. 

Mr. Garigen worked on the Railroad for Erie Company for many years. He was a longtime member of the Darien Fire Company and loved to play Euchre. 

He is survived by his son Lee Garigen of Pike; daughter Sherry Garigen of Darien Center; son-in-law Chuck Lapp; daughter-in-law Barb Garigen both of Darien; 8 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, along with many nieces and nephews.

Friends are invited to call on Friday August 15, 2014 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM at Marley Funeral Home, LLC. 135 Main Street Attica, NY 14011. Funeral Services will be held 11:00 AM on Saturday August 16, 2014 at the Funeral Home. He will be laid to rest in Cowlesville Cemetery.
