DOROTHY R. SHERIDAN ~

Age 87, formally of Batavia, was reunited with her beloved Eddie Friday morning April 21, 2017 at Brothers of Mercy Nursing & Rehab Center. She was born March 5, 1930 in Schenectady, NY a daughter of the late Alphonse and Katherine (Murphy) Boisvert also preceded in death by her husband, Edward in 2011; and sisters, Helen & June. 

Mrs. Sheridan was a longtime member of Resurrection Parish (St. Mary's), was an LPN who served as a nurse aide with Batavia City Schools. She was a loving, wife, mother and grandmother who enjoyed antiquing and travelling. 

Surviving are her loving children, Edward (Cathy) Sheridan of Shelton, WA, Dan Sheridan of Aspen, CO, Nancy (Steve) Siegel of Buffalo and Patricia Vargo of Oakfield; sister, Patricia (Nat) Mills of NC; 11 grandchildren Matt (Kristen), Benjamin (Jessica), Scott, Christopher (Michelle), Julie (Graham), James, Scott, Bridget, Brian, Jack & Katie; 4 great-grandchildren, Ian, Stella, Siena Rose & Mia along with many nieces and nephews. 

The family will be present from 4 - 5:30 pm on Wednesday April 26 at the MICHAEL S. TOMASZEWSKI FUNERAL & CREMATION CHAPEL, LLC 4120 West Main Street Road Batavia, New York 14020 where her Funeral Rite will be celebrated at 5:30pm by Rev. Ronald Sajdak. Martha M. Austin, 69, of Batavia passed away on Wednesday April 19, 2017 at the United Memorial Medical Center in Batavia. She was born on October 4, 1947 in Geneva, NY to the late Alfred and Agnes (Nielson) Jepsen. In addition to her parents, Martha is predeceased by her daughter Liza Espinoza.

Martha loved her animals, going to the casino and getting ice cream. She was the world’s biggest Elvis fan. She will forever be remembered for loving her family and everyone around her.

Martha is survived by her son; Albert (Charlotte) Jepsen of Batavia; Son in law Luis Espinoza; 6 grandchildren Aaron, Sabrina, Crystal, Jonathan, Cheyenne and Austin; 2 great grandchildren Aiden and Jenna along with many nieces and nephews.

BILLIE F. SKILL

Age 69, of Batavia, died peacefully Monday February 20, 2017 at Hospice of Orleans. She was born February 13, 1948 in Batavia, NY a daughter of Shelagh (Kennedy) Hoffman of Batavia and the late William "Coke" Hoffman also preceded in death by her husband, Philip Skill on April 19, 2016.

Billie was a graduate of Batavia High School, received her RN degree from GCC and worked for many years in the Batavia area, and a member of Resurrection Parish. She enjoyed gardening, travelling, especially trips to Las Vegas and area casinos. Billie had an affection for her four legged friend, "Scoots" the cat and often could be seen sitting on her front porch, which she loved to do during the summer months.

Surviving along with her mother are her beloved daughters, Jill of Charlotte, NC and Kelly of Brooklyn, NY; brothers, Paul Hoffmann of Batavia, Rob (late Robin) Hoffman of FL and John (Gloria) Hoffman of CA; sisters-in-law, Joan Skill of Williamsville and Dolores Russo of Pittsford along with several nieces, nephews and cousins.

LARRY R. THRONEBURG ~ Batavia

Age 66, died peacefully Sunday April 16, 2017 at Buffalo General Hospital. He was born September 19, 1950 in Norfolk, VA to the late John F. and Mary (Edwards) Throneburg, Jr. also preceded in death by siblings, John F. Throneburg, III and Deborah L. Kadon. 

Larry grew up in Virginia, led a very simple life and worked many years for the Kroger Grocery chain. He enjoyed fishing, Little League Baseball games, the outdoors and tending to flower gardens. 

Surviving is his loving wife, Patty Jo (Hart) Throneburg of Batavia; daughter, Danyel H. (R.C. Sifford) Warren; son, Stephen R. Throneburg; sisters, Grace (James) Updyke, Marcia (Hank) Hodgkins and Mary Beth Blackman; brother, Arthur Throneburg; step-sisters, Kay Fraizer and Terri Werts; grandchildren, Christopher Warren, Shelby Sifford & Layla Throneburg along with and aunt and numerous cousins.

Norma J. Morris, 81, of Varysburg passed away on Friday April 7, 2017 at Mercy Hospital in Buffalo. She was born on October 12, 1935 in Orchard Park to the late Norman and Grace (Devel) Sieg. In addition to her parents, Norma is predeceased by her husband Walter Morris.

She is survived by her brother; Doug (Katherine) Sieg; niece Shelly (Ron) Pasquarelli; nephew Aaron (Shelby Fonda) Sieg; great nieces Leah and Sarah Pasquarelli, Grace Fonda; great nephews Lucas Pasquarelli and Garrett Sieg.

Norma was a lifetime member of the Varysburg Valley Gospel Church, 2442 Main St. Rt. 20 Varysburg, NY 14167 where her Memorial Service will be held on Tuesday April 25, 2017 at 6:30PM. There were no prior calling hours and interment was private at Varysburg Cemetery.

Mary Jane Reding, 94, of Attica passed away on Wednesday April 19, 2017 at the Wyoming County Community Hospital in Warsaw. She was born in Buffalo on October 12, 1922 to the late John and Clara (Maurer) Roetzer.

She is survived by her loving husband of over 73 years Edmund Reding of Attica; children Thomas (Rita) Reding of South Byron, Barbara (James) Manning of Halfmoon, NY., Betty (Tim Putnam) Reding of Rochester, Sue Reding of Arcade, Michael (Connie) Reding of Lakeville, OH., and John (Tammy) Reding of Attica; 9 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren.

Walter H. Williams, 80, formally of Oakfield, NY passed away peacefully on Friday, Aprl 7, 2017 at the Oak Orchard Manor in Medina.

Surviving are 3 sons; Scott, Tim and Brian. He leaves behind several brothers and sisters, nieces and nephews.

Walter served his country in both the Marine Corp and the Air Force. His body was donated to UB Medical Science Department. No services or calling hours.

Sally Ann (Reisdorf) Kmicinski, 75, of North Java passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday April 19, 2017 after spending a lovely Easter surrounded by her sister, her children and her grandchildren.  She was born on October 2, 1941 to the late Charles and Edith Reisdorf. In addition to her parents, Sally is predeceased by her husband Charles Kmicinski and sister Lesa Reisdorf.

Sally was a determined woman who “beat polio” at age 9 and kept that spirit her whole life. She made the world a more beautiful place. Sally was an elite gardener, talented quilter, crafter, decorator and an excellent cook. She lived life by her own set of rules which usually ended up with a good story that had everyone laughing. Sally was a “kid at heart” and adored her children, grandchildren and family. She was an avid traveler having visited numerous countries; England, Russia, Peru, France, Italy, Greece and Holland plus extensive travel within the United States and Canada.

She will be greatly missed by her children; Christopher (Robin) Kmicinski, Jeffery Kmicinski, Gregory (Nikki) Kmicinski and Katherine (Jobe) Wheeler; siblings Richard (Sue) Reisdorf, Martin (Joanne) Reisdorf, Charles “Chip” (Robert Fish) Reisdorf, Larry (Lori) Reisdorf, Christine Reisdorf and Elizabeth (Frank) Puddu; grandchildren Darren, Chad, Matthew, Emma, Kasey, Kameron, Kendall, Chloe, Noah, Lily and Phebe along with  numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and countless friends.

Dennis T. Waldron, 80, of Brockport, formally of Batavia passed away peacefully on Tuesday April 18, 2017 at the Hildebrandt Hospice Care Center in Greece. He was born on July 6, 1936 in Batavia to the late Horace and Mary (Mckenna) Waldron. Dennis is predeceased by his siblings; Fawn Coughlin, Winifred Cook, Horace Waldron and Patrick Waldron.

Dennis worked for many years in the construction business. He was a United States Army Veteran. Dennis made the decision to return to school in the early 90’s to complete his GED from GLSW BOCES in Batavia all while working for Coach USA in Rochester as a bus driver.

He is survived by his loving wife; Josephine (Swiatowy) Waldron of Brockport; children Colleen Comins of FT. Worth, TX., Dennis P. (Kathie) Waldron of McKinney, TX., Laurie (Jaime) Downey of Rochester, Joyce Liles of Churchville, Tammy Jo (Joseph) Manz of Albion and Shane Waldron of Albany; siblings Loretta Brooks, Joyce Harezga, Benjamin Waldron, Jim Waldron, Christine Moore and Margaret Gilchrist; 10 grandchildren along with many great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

There will be no prior calling hours. An 11:00AM Graveside Service with Military Honors will be held on Saturday April 22, 2017 at Morganville Cemetery on Morganville Rd. in Stafford, NY where he will be laid to rest.

Michael “Herb” Will, 70, of Alabama, entered into rest on Tuesday, April 18, 2017 at Millard Fillmore Suburban Hospital after a long illness.
Mike was born in Batavia on September 25, 1946, a son of the late Charles and Sophie (Stuzenski) Will. He graduated from Oakfield-Alabama High School in the class of 1964 and went on to serve his country during Vietnam from 1971-1977 in the U.S. Army.  Mike worked as a truck driver for several companies and retired after many years. He was a parishioner of St. Padre Pio Parish, St. Cecelia’s Church in Oakfield. Having lived most of his life on the family farm on Ham Road, Mike had an instilled passion for farming.  He also enjoyed mowing and catching various critters on the property. He will be remembered as a very kind and generous person, who helped many people over the years.

Besides his parents, Mike was predeceased by his wife, Ruby D. (Van Buren) Will on January 25, 2008. He is survived by his 2 children, Michelle Will of Port Charlotte, FL and Jeremy (Christopher Klubek) Will of Buffalo; 3 sisters, Mary Ann Brown, Irene Will and Susan (David) Fryer; also many nieces, nephews & relatives.

Friends may call on Thursday from (4-8PM) at Cooper Funeral Home, 215 W. Center St., Medina, NY 14103. The Rev. Thaddeus Bocianowski will celebrate his Mass of Christian Burial on Friday at (10AM) at St. Padre Pio Parish, St. Cecelia’s Church in Oakfield. Interment will be in St. Cecelia’s Cemetery. Cazenovia - Dr. Conrad Joseph Kubiniec, 79, passed away on March 18, 2017 at the Syracuse VA Medical Center Hospice, surrounded by his family after a valiant 3-month battle with cancer.

He was born on March 30, 1937 in North Tonawanda, New York the son of the late Charles F. and Cecelia (Young) Kubiniec.

He graduated from North Tonawanda High School in 1954. He was a proud member of the University of Buffalo Dental School Class of 1961.  Conrad went on to serve his country as an officer and dentist in the US NAVY at Great Lakes Training Center in Great Lakes, Illinois.

Upon his honorable discharge from the Navy, Conrad returned to Western NY and opened his dental practice in Batavia.  He practiced dentistry for 40 years, the last 10 with his son, Michael.  While a Dentist, he was elected into the Pierre Fauchard Academy, an International Honorary Dental Organization.  He was a member of the Tri-County Dental Society and the 8^th District Dental Society.

Along with his successful dental practice, he was a member of The Batavia Lions Club, The Batavia Rotary Club and The Batavia Club.  He sang tenor in the Genesee Chorale and appeared in numerous Rotary Shows. He served on the Board of Directors of the Batavia YMCA and AAA of Western NY.  Upon retiring to St. Augustine Florida, he was an active member of St. Augustine’s Sunshine Rotary Club and the St. Augustine Bridge Club. He spent his summer months in Cazenovia, New York.

Conrad was rich with avocations.  He was an American Contract Bridge Life Master. He was an avid long distance runner and completed two Skylon Marathons in Niagara Falls. He ran for years with the Batavia Sunday Morning Running Club.  As an accomplished lifelong bowler, he achieved his goal of completing a sanctioned 300 game. He was a Master Gardener in the Cornell Cooperative Extension in New York and The University of Florida Cooperative Extension in Florida. He voluntarily tended plantings and community gardens in Batavia and at the St. Augustine Bridge Club and helped family, friends and neighbors with plans, plants and labor.

Conrad married Ann O’Grady Kubiniec of Cuba, New York in 1959. They shared 57 years of marriage and, together, they raised three children. 

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his three children, Dr. Michael (Sharon) Kubiniec of Batavia, Thomas (Juliet) Kubiniec of Cazenovia and Katherine (Kenneth) Dunn of Danvers, MA.  He was the beloved “Grandpa Alligator” to Austin, Robert and Thomas Kubiniec of Batavia, NY, Colton, Hailey and Charles Kubiniec of Cazenovia, NY, Madelyn, Kenneth Conrad and Garrett Dunn of Danvers, MA. He is also survived by his sister Dr. Cathleen (James) Morano of New Britain, PA and two brothers, Charles “Chip” (Janice) Kubiniec of North Tonawanda, NY and Craig (Mary Anne) Kubiniec of St. Petersburg, FL and many cousins, nieces and nephews. 

Friends and family are invited to the GO-ART Center - Seymour Place, 201 East Main Street, Batavia on Saturday, April 22nd from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. where Connie's family will be present to greet you. Jane Bonney Mason was an Elba girl born May 22, 1921, the daughter of muck farm manager and talented homemaker, Harry and Erma Bonney. Jane was always climbing a tree or on a horse or persuading neighbor kids to act in her plays in the barn. Her active life continued in Elba High School and Mary Washington College where she rode horses, performed in dances, participated in theater, choir and band. She worked for WBTA Radio as a "Penny Wise" (a radio announcer who gives grocery store prices). 

In 1949, she married Max W. Mason, Jr.,  discovered golf at Stafford County Club,  so much so that she was able to win the Women's Championship more than once. Also, birdwatching became a lifelong interest for the couple. Max and Jane were married for 68 years! Jane was a caring and active wife, generous mom and grandmother.  She is famous in her family for "Bommy's" chocolate chip cookies and apple pie. She helped care for Max in his last years until his death last September 2016. She loved her birds at the feeders and her Elba onions and potatoes. Jane was predeceased by her sisters Elizabeth (Betty) Bonney Stratton and Suzanne Bonney Duguid.

Survivors include her daughter, Suzanne (Suzie) Mason Salo (Glenn P. Salo) from Pittsburgh, Pa and her son, Marc Preston Mason (Lisa Bartlett) from Keuka Lake, NY, her grandsons Marc Edward Salo and Scott Mason Salo from Pittsburgh, Pa, also her nieces and nephews: Elizabeth Stratton (Jim), Beau Stratton (Carol), Holly Dill,  John Bertrand (Victoria Bertrand), Alison Bertrand, James Bertrand (Joann Bertrand)and several great nieces and nephews.  Many fabulous neighbors, mail retrievers, caregivers and friends from all over will miss her. Jane died peacefully after a stroke. Family and friends said goodbye on April 11, 2017.   Instead of flowers, donations can be made to the charity of your choice. A private family celebration of Jane will be planned in the future.

Gloria J. Smith, 73, of Byron passed away on Thursday April 13, 2017 at Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester.  She was born in Lock Haven, PA., on June 14, 1943 to the late Albert and Priscilla (Huntington) Lomax.  In addition to her parents, she is predeceased by a brother Linford Huntington.

Gloria was employed by Student Transportation of America where she drove a school bus for many years and was also a member of the Byron Ladies Auxiliary. She will forever be remembered as a very strong woman who above all else loved spending time with her family and friends.

She is survived by her loving husband Hardman G. Smith of Byron; children Sonya (Charles) Durkee of Byron, Laura Smith of FL., and Hardman Smith Jr. of FL.; brother Glenn Lomax of W. Middlebury; 4 grandchildren Chelsea Smith, Madysson Smith, Charles Durkee II and Nathan Durkee; 1 great-grandchild Bennett Durkee, along with many nieces and nephews.
