Sath P. Dhanda

EAST BETHANY - Sath P. Dhanda, 39, of East Bethany, passed away unexpectedly Sunday, (January 19, 2020).

Sath was born April 6, 1980, in Warsaw, a son of Ann M. (Mullen) Dhanda of East Bethany and the late Dr. S. Paul Dhanda.

He was an avid sports fan and golfer.  Sath greatly enjoyed cooking, trivia, watching Jeopardy, and spending time with his nieces and nephews.

Surviving along with his mother are his brothers, Vijay (fiance Jullian Messina) Dhanda of FL, and Shan Dhanda of East Bethany; a step-sister, Dr. Paula (John Clark) Dhanda of CA; an aunt, Mary A. "Meme" Mullen of Batavia, uncles, Robert (Laura) Mullen of Batavia, Richard (June) Mullen of Byron, and William (Joyce) Mullen of Brockport; several nieces and nephews including Vijay P. Dhanda, Jr., Kyla Dhanda, Izabella Fantz, Amber Dems, and Jasmin Clark; a dear friend, Janet Polzin of Akron.  Many cousins also survive.

Sath is preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Robert and Mary Mullen; and a nephew, John Paul Clark,

Friends may call from 3:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Friday at the H.E. Turner & Co. Funeral Home, 403 East Main Street in Batavia, where Prayers will be recited on Saturday at 9:30 a.m.  Sath's Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday at 10:00 a.m. from  St. Jospeph's Church, 303 East Main Street in Batavia with Rev. Thaddeus N. Bocianowski officiating. Burial will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery in Batavia. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Sath's memory may be made to Notre Dame High School, 73 Union Street, Batavia, New York 14020. A dog has reportedly fallen through the ice in Stafford

Kathleen C. Heywood

Kathleen C. Heywood, 72 of Batavia, passed away peacefully on Sunday (September 13, 2020) with her family by her side.

She was born November 12, 1947 in Batavia, a daughter of the late Stanley and Sophia Cichocki Adamczyk.

Kathleen was a Registered Nurse for over 35 years and was employed by St. Jerome Hospital, United Memorial Medical Center and Genesee County Nursing Home. She enjoyed crocheting, knitting and reading. She was a member of Resurrection Parish and adored her grandchildren.

Survivors include her daughters, Michelle (James) Mullen of Batavia, Pamela Heywood of Batavia, Aimee (Brian) Fisher of Spencerport and Jessica Heywood of Batavia. Grandchildren, Tiffany Lamb, Nathaniel Mullen and Alyssa Mullen. Brother in-law, Kevin Kiersz of North Carolina. Also survived by nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was the sister of the late Cynthia Kiersz and grandmother of the late Larissa Mullen.

Family and friends are cordially invited to share thoughts, condolences and fond memories on Sunday (September 20th) from 4-7pm at the J. LEONARD McANDREW FUNERAL HOME, LLC, 2 Bogue Ave., Batavia. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday, 9:30am at Resurrection Parish, 18 Ellicott St., Batavia. Entombment will be in St. Joseph Cemetery.
