Mrs. Orlowski worked for the Genesee County Board of Elections for 25 years. She was a longtime member of St. Padre Pio Parish in Oakfield and loved doing funeral breakfasts at the church and organized them for years. Mrs. Orlowski was very active in the Oakfield-Alabama Alumni Association. The love of her life was her grandchildren Nicki and Christopher.

She is survived by her daughter Christine (Gary) Bucceri of Oakfield; sister Sophia Weber of AZ; grandchildren Nicole R. (Nathan) Spang of Charlotte, NC; Christopher F. Bucceri of San Francisco, CA; great-grandchildren Levi and Myla Spang, along with many nieces and nephews.

A private Service was held for the immediate family. She has been laid to rest in St. Cecilia’s Cemetery, Oakfield.

BERGEN — Willard Pengelly, 98, passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday, June 16, in Bergen, New York. 

Willard was born December 1, 1921, in Churchville, New York a son of William and Grace Pengelly.  He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Gordon, and three wives (Edith Brisbane, Evelyn Sorce, and Theresa Martin-Alexander).

Willard was a very successful farmer and real estate broker who worked with Harris Wilcox Inc. for almost sixty years.  He was the past president of the New York State Holstein Association and New York State Guernsey Association.

His passion was connecting with people through a common love of farming and real estate.  He continued to advise on real estate matters until the age of 97.  He was a father figure to many and will be remembered by his family and friends as a smart, kind, gentle and friendly person with a sparkle in his eye and will be missed. 

There will be no visitation. Due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, private services were held by the family.  He was laid to rest in Stone Church Cemetery, Bergen.  A memorial service will be scheduled in the future for Willard at Bergen Presbyterian Evangelical Church.  In lieu of flowers, he would rather have you remember him by donating directly to the Bergen Presbyterian Evangelical Church, P.O. Batavia ~ Liza was born May 12, 1961 and passed away after a long illness on June 2, 2020.

     She was the daughter of the late William and Mabel Lefkowitz and sister of the late Stephen Lefkowitz.

     Liza lived and worked in New Jersey for many years and was a longtime secretary for Mennen Products.  When she moved to Batavia, she enjoyed bowling  in the leagues at Mancuso's Lanes.

     She is survived by her brother, Roger (Anita) Weiss of Batavia; two nieces, Jessica and Jennifer Weiss of Batavia, along with several great-nieces and great-nephews.

     Services will be private for family to be held at a later date.

Mrs. Dixson was born October 27, 1942, in Batavia, a daughter of the late Walter and Dorothy (Quackenbush) Pursel.

Florine was a member of the former St. Michael's Episcopal Church and a former member of the Oakfield Fire Department Ladies' Auxiliary.  She enjoyed going to the casino, playing bingo, and animals.  Holidays were very important to Florine.  She insisted that the family get together and enjoy each others company and her cooking.  Mrs. Dixson was an avid fan of the Golden Girls.

Survivors include her husband, Robert Dixson; sons Scott Williams and Randy (Gloria) Williams both of LeRoy; a daughter Pamela (Ron) Williams of Corfu; grandchildren, J.T., Sarah, and Riley Williams, Nichole (Brandon) Macioszek, Clinton "Billy" Nickens, Daniel (Makenzie) Burr, Erika (Alex) Lippold, and Jessica (fiance Andrew) Shaut; great-grandchildren, Andraes, Carmelo, and Alissa; sisters, Betty (late Chuck) Juliano of FL, Patricia (David) Williams of South Alabama, and Sandy (Frank) Deleo of MD.  Also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Florine is preceded in death by a great-granddaughter, Lillian Burr.

Private funeral services will be held for the family.  Florine will be laid to rest in Cary Cemetery in Oakfield. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Florine's memory may be made to Camp Good Days, 6430 Transit Rd., Suite 200 Depew, NY 14043.

Pavilion ~ David W. Wright, age 59, of W. Park Street, passed away at home early Tuesday morning (June 16, 2020) in the loving presence of his family.

     David enjoyed spending time with his family and was considered the “family photographer and videographer”.  He was a life member of the Pavilion Fire Dept., where he was a past financial secretary.  He was also a member of the Pavilion United Methodist Church, a board member for the Pavilion Cemetery Association and a long-time volunteer for placing flags on the graves of veterans in the cemetery.  In David’s own words, he was “ a long suffering Buffalo Bills and Buffalo Sabres fan” as well.

      He is survived by his brother, Douglas (Kathy) Wright of Pavilion; his sisters, Ginger Sackel (Marjorie Wilkison) of Flatrock, NC and Phyllis (Dr. Mark) Hagen of Westfield; his aunt, Mary Ellen (late Donald) Wright of LeRoy; his loving nieces and special care providers, Michele Schultz and Mary Beth McMartin, along with many other nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins, dear friends and his loving and devoted canine companion, Annabelle.

     Family and friends may call on Friday, June 19 from 4 ~ 8 P.M. at the Falcone Family Funeral & Cremation Service Inc., 8700 Lake Road (Rt. 19), LeRoy. (Funeral home occupancy will be limited to 25% during the course of visitation and face masks will be required.)   His graveside service will be held on Saturday, June 20 at 10:00 A.M. in the Machpelah Cemetery, LeRoy.

Gary served as Director of Probation for over 30 years until his retirement in 2006. While serving in Vietnam as a Helicopter Pilot with D Troop 3/5 Air Cavalry from 1968 to 1972, Chief Warrant Officer Clark earned the Distinguished Flying Cross Oak Leaf Cluster, Bronze Star, Soldiers Medal for Heroism, Air Medal V Device and Air Medal 39 Award, for Heroic and Meritorious Achievement in aerial flight. CW4 Clark joined the New York State National Guard after returning home from Vietnam until his retirement in 1998 where he was awarded his Master Aviator Wings.

While a member of the community Gary also served as Past President of the Kiwanis Club of Batavia, Iroquois Trail Council of Boy Scouts of America and Council of Probation Administrators for Western New York. Gary was a lifetime member of the Stafford Fire Department.

Gary is survived by his loving wife Denise Clark, his sons, Michael (Melissa) Clark, Stephen (Rachael) Clark, stepchildren David (Kate) Long, Daniel (Darla) Long, Shannon (Sean) O’Brien; Grandchildren who he loved so much, Emily Clark and Olivia O’Brien; dear friends Michael Ricketts and David Siranni. His brother Robert predeceased him.

Friends are invited to an 11:00 AM Graveside Service on Wednesday, June 17, 2020 at Maple Lawn Cemetery, Elba. All Social Distancing protocol will be practiced at the cemetery.

“Theo” or “Jr” as he was affectionately called, was raised in Monticello, FL by his grandmother, the late Mary Lee Denmark until his high school years when he moved to Bartow, FL to be with his mom and step father who raised him to adulthood. Theo joined his beloved Melissa in holy matrimony on April 3, 1999 and shortly thereafter relocated to New York. One of his greatest accomplishments was going back to school and earning his GED from Genesee Valley BOCES in June 2006. Theo was a Team Supervisor for Yancey’s Fancy Cheese for several years until his health declined and was forced to retire. He loved watching NASCAR, he enjoyed fishing, cooking and spending time with family and friends.

Theo is survived by his loving siblings, Pamela (Lorenzo) Farmer of Winter Haven, FL, Colina (Jerry) Williams-McAfee of Auburndale, FL, Debra (Andrew) Harris of Syracuse, NY, Zina (Terry) Whitaker of Albany, GA, Michelle (Kevin) Kaigler of Tallahassee, FL, Lisa Williams of Atlanta, GA, Ricky (Carmelita) Howard of Syracuse, NY, Kelvin (Linda) Williams of Winter Haven, FL; loving companion and her family, Catherine Thomas, her daughters and grandchildren; loyal friend, Crystal Polk, Ballard Maye, Ulysses Maye along with a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, great nieces, nephews and cousins.

Mr. Dompkowski returned to Western New York and was employed in management with JC Penney and Joanne Fabrics and later worked in insurance sales. He ended his work career as a mathematics teacher at Hopevale School. He took great pride in assisting troubled young women at Hopevale. Though he greatly enjoyed living in Hamburg where he raised his family, he became a resident at the VA facility in Batavia, where he lived from 2009 until his death.

“Grandpa Chet” was very devoted to his grandchildren. His family fondly remembered how some of his happiest days were taking his grandsons Nick and Blake Smith to the barber shop when they lived in Hamburg as young boys. His family laughed heartily at the stories of his golfing with his brothers-in-law Joe Procakiewicz and Ken Kovach at the “lush, plush” Eden Valley Country Club. It was heartwarming to hear how he was well liked by the patients and staff at the Batavia VA Living Center, and how much they will miss him. The staff spoke of how he took an interest in the lives of others, how friendly he was, and how he gave encouragement to everyone. He happily shared his favorite foods of pizza, chicken wings and cheesecake with the patients and staff at the facility, and his family will treat the staff and residents to them in his honor. 

He is predeceased by his sister, Dolores Blattenberger, and survived by his sister, Eileen Jurek, four children, Joseph Dompkowski (Juliana) of Farmingdale, NY, James Oaksun of Ft. Lauderdale, FL, Jean Marcucci of Woodbury, NJ, and Mary Archer (Mark), of Marlton, NJ, and eight grandchildren, Nicholas and Blake Smith, Gabrielle Marcucci, Sarah Dompkowski, Veronica and Iris Archer, and Thomas and Andrew Dompkowski. Dad was especially proud of his great grandchildren Ian and Ava.

Due to the ongoing COVID-19 Epidemic, Mr. Dompkowski’s funeral mass and interment with military honors will he held at a future date and memorials in his memory can be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.

Bergen ~ Barbara A. DeFazio, age 70, of Kaymar Drive, passed away at home unexpectedly on Monday afternoon (June 8, 2020)

     Barbara will be remembered as a very loving wife, mother, daughter, grandmother, sister, aunt and dear friend to many.  She was not only devoted to her family, but had a strong devotion to her faith.  She was a longtime custodian and sacristan at St. Brigid Church in Bergen, as well as a longtime lector and Eucharistic Minister and also lead the rosary before each mass. She was a member of the St. Brigid Folk Group, where she played guitar for 28 years from 1976 - 2004. Barbara was also a retiree of the Byron-Bergen Central School District, where she was a longtime elementary school library aide.

     She is survived by her loving husband of 46 years, Salvatore C. DeFazio; son, Brian (Kristi) S. DeFazio; granddaughter, Lily Ann DeFazio; grandson, Benjamin Brian DeFazio; mother, Louise Gross; father-in-law, John C. DeFazio; brothers, John (Susan) Gross, Paul (Debra) Gross and James (Ann) Gross, along with many nieces and nephews.

     She was predeceased by her father, Joseph C. Gross, mother-in-law, Rose DeFazio and granddaughters, Melanie Lynn DeFazio and Kaelynn Brianna DeFazio.

Vernon G. Rupert - Alexander. The memorial service that was scheduled for Vernon G. Rupert on July 5, 2020, has been postponed until July 2021. This is due to the continued restrictions of the COVID 19 virus and concerns of the family.

Richard L. Stempkowski, 80 of Perry, passed away Tuesday, June 9, 2020 at Noyes Memorial Hospital in Dansville. He was born on April 24, 1940 in Lancaster to the late Leo (Dorothy Kryszewski) Stempkowski. He is preceded in death by his wife Joan (Skapik) Stempkowski, daughters Donna Flick and Bonnie Celano.

Richard owned and operated S&S Trucking in Buffalo. He enjoyed motorcycles, was an avid fisherman and bowler. Mr. Stempkowski was a longtime member of St. John Kanty Church in Buffalo. He was amazing with children and loved spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Richard is survived by his sister Terri Goad of OH; 5 grandchildren, April (Jason) Weatherbee of Attica; Jara (Ford) Johnson of GA; Scott (Miranda) Flick of Niagara Falls, NY; Chris (Nicole) Haas of Bennington; Corey Summerville of Alden; 10 great-grandchildren, along with several nieces and nephews.

Batavia - Thomas H. Pendleton, 72, of Batavia, passed away Sunday, June 7, 2020, at Orchard Manor Residential Health Care Facility.

Mr. Pendleton was born February 21, 1948, in North Tonawanda, a son of Thomas L. Pendleton of North Tonawanda and the late Arta Mae Pink Pendleton.

 A truck driver for Stroehmann Bakeries in Rochester, he proudly served his country during the Vietnam War with the United States Air Force.

Surviving along with his father are his wife, Suzanne Earl Pendleton, whom he married November 16, 1990; three children; Jeanna Pendleton Brown, of Louisiana, Jeffrey Pendleton, of Louisiana, and Timothy Pendleton, of Batavia; his brother, Henry (Cindy) Pendleton, of North Tonawanda; his sister, Marjorie (David) Switala, of Lakewood; along with several grandchildren and nieces and nephews.

There will be no prior visitation.  Private services will be held at the convenience of the family. He will be laid to rest in the Western New York National Cemetery, Pembroke. York / Caledonia ~ Pamela M. SinClair, age 63, passed away Saturday afternoon (June 6,2020) in Pennsylvania as a result of injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident.

     Pam will be remembered as a loving daughter, mother, grandmother, sister, companion and dear friend.  She was a very caring and giving member of her community, having been a member of the First Presbyterian Church and the bell choir, the Caledonia Fire Dept., Kelley's Heroes and the Genesee County H.O.G.  After college, Pam began working for Kodak, where she advanced over the years into administration, eventually retiring after 40 years, when that part of Kodak became the Harris Corp.

     She is survived by her companion, Harold Morris; her mother, Marie Manley (Bill Goodburlet); daughter, Vicky SinClair, granddaughter, Estelle Marie Golden; sister, Becky (Mark) Schroeder; brother, Robert (Kristin) Sinclair Jr., along with many loving nieces and nephews.

     She was predeceased by her father, Robert SinClair in 2010.

     Family and friends may call on Friday, June 12 from 3 ~ 7 PM at the Falcone Family Funeral & Cremation Service Inc., 8700 Lake St. Rd., (Rt. 19), LeRoy, where memories will be shared at 7:00 PM.  (Funeral home occupancy will be limited to 25% capacity during the course of visitation and memory sharing and face masks will be required.)  Interment in the East Bethany Cemetery will be private.
