JON B. MARTINO

JON B. MARTINO ~ Age 55, of Oakfield, beloved husband, father, son and brother died peacefully Wednesday December 11, 2019 at Crossroads House. He was born in Batavia, NY on May 27, 1964 to Benjamin and June (Yoder) Martino of Oakfield.

Jon worked for the University of Rochester and was a member of Resurrection Parish. He enjoyed fishing with his father, Friday morning golf with his best bud, hiking with his family and simply hanging with his boys. He was an avid Buffalo Bills and Buffalo Sabres fan and was the ultimate handy man, he could asses the problem, take it apart, put it back together and it worked! Jon was a simple man, he was his own man who walked his own path in life doing it honestly and always, always putting his family first.

Surviving along with his parents is his beloved wife of 30 years, Linda (Warren) Martino of Oakfield; loving sons, Dylan and DJ Martino both at home; sisters, Suzanne (Tim) Cansdale of Rushford, NY and Rebecca Cohen of Batavia; brothers & sisters-in-law, Don (Jo) Warren of WV, Chris (Kim) Warren of TN, Kim (Terry) Burns of Spencerport and Todd (Ronald) Warren of Batavia along with aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

Jon’s family will be present from 5-8p.m. on Friday December 13, 2019 at the MICHAEL S. TOMASZEWSKI FUNERAL & CREMATION CHAPEL, LLC 4120 West Main Street Road Batavia, New York 14020, please assemble 11:00a.m. at Resurrection Parish (St. Mary’s Site) on Saturday December 14 to Celebrate Jon’s Mass of Christian Burial. ROBERT J. BRICE

ROBERT J. BRICE ~ Age 62, lifelong Batavia resident, died Wednesday December 4, 2019 following a long illness at Premier Genesee Center for Nursing & Rehabilitation. Robert was born December 28, 1956 in Batavia, NY to the late Willard “John” and Mildred (Blaker) Brice also preceded in death by a sister, Patricia Ann Ribbeck.

Robert enjoyed all genres of music and had a great love of family.

Surviving is his son, Kenneth, 2 grandchildren, sisters, Linda Berrios and Connie Denton; brother Norm (Donna) Brice along with several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Services for Robert will be held privately for the family and he will be laid to rest in Mumford Rural Cemetery. Memorials in his memory are suggested to his family.

Ronald H. Christbaum

  Ronald H. Christbaum, 79 of Batavia, passed away peacefully on December 11, 2019 at LeRoy Village Green Nursing Home. He was born in Buffalo on April 18, 1940.  He is preceded in death by his wife Linda K. (Westcott) Christbaum, his parents and a sister.    

Mr. Christbaum, was principle of Genesee Valley BOCES and Erie 1 BOCES in West Seneca before his retirement. He loved math and teaching it to his students, especially the ones that struggled with it because he did too. Ron taught his daughter Alexis and students practical life skills every chance he had. He enjoyed living in the country, being outside building things and doing masonry work. His favorite thing in the world was collecting and rebuilding cars. Ron was a very supportive father, never missing concerts, programs or events.    

Mr. Christbaum is survived by his beloved daughter Alexis Christbaum of Batavia.   

There will be no prior calling hours and services will be held privately.

Doug Dayton

     Doug Dayton, 73, of Alexander, rose to Glory on November 26, 2019.  He was born on January 2, 1946 in Warsaw, NY to A. Warren and Flora Burton Dayton.  He grew up in Alexander spending all his childhood summers with his family at Camp-in-the-Woods on Bear Lake in Chautauqua County.  After college, where he formed lifelong friendships, Doug married Martha on December 28, 1971.  He pursued his passion for building homes both in his business and as a volunteer.  Doug and Martha have two sons who grew up learning how to build a home, as well as houses, and to pursue their own callings.  He blessed family and friends with his homemade bread. Doug put down his hammer a few days before he went to Roswell for a successful stem cell transplant.  Resulting complications were too much to overcome.  After living out his faith in his family, business, church and community, he left a worn out body behind for the perfect one given by his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

Doug is survived by his loving wife, Martha; their two sons, Jon of Alexander and Warren (Allison) of Roanoke, VA; their six grandchildren, Ollie, Jack, Henry, Elliott, Rebecca and Rosemary; his sister, Sally (late Dave) Havens of Dublin, Ohio and their family; his brother, Charlie (Laurie) of Nevada City, CA and their family.   

Friends may call at the Alexander United Methodist Church on Friday, January 31, 2020 from 3 - 7 pm.  Doug’s Celebration of Life service will be held at the Alexander Central School auditorium on Saturday, February 1, 2020 at 2:00.  Memorials may be made to this church or a charity of choice.  Any donations to the family will fund a set of tools for an ACS graduate going into building trades.  Your stories from Doug’s life may be sent to P.O. Doug will be sorely missed by all who knew and loved him yet we rejoice with all who are welcoming him to heaven.  

Nichole L. Ruck

It is with a deep and profound sadness that Nichole Lee Ruck, age 35, of Batavia, passed away on December 7, 2019.  She was born on August 12, 1984 to Michael Ruck of Elba and Cheri (Maples) Ruck of Attica.   

Nichole was working on pursuing her Associates degree to become a substance abuse counselor.  She loved helping others and loved to spend time with her family, friends,  and cats Ezzie, GoGo, & Ki-yee.  She enjoyed swimming and art and crafts. 

In addition to her parents, she will be lovingly remembered by sisters Stephanie Ruck and Staci Bartz & brother-in-law Jamie Bartz; nephew Cody Bartz; her niece Rylie Ace and nephew Aiden Ace, grandparents Gerry (Jackie) Cote, Rose and Don Ruck;  Aunt Julie Maples, Uncle Bob Maples and cousin Tara Maples & daughter Winter, Aunts and Uncles Terry & Kevin Novak and Donna & Shane Seyler, as well as cousins Ashley, Zack, Jenna, Keith, and Alison; and her longtime boyfriend Johnny Michalak.  She is preceded in death by her loving baby sister and best friend Hollie Ruck and grandparents Leo & Barb Maples.  Family and friends are invited to call on Sunday December 15th, 2019 from 12:00 – 2:00 PM at Marley Funeral Home, LLC. 135 Main Street Attica, New York 14011.

Luella Josey

BATAVIA - Luella Josey, 82, of Batavia, passed away Sunday, (December 8, 2019), at The Grand Rehabilitation And Nursing, in Batavia.

Mrs. Josey was born November 22, 1937, in Parkersburg, West Virginia, a daughter of the late George and Myrtle Hamilton.

She is the wife of the late Zack Josey.

Luella is survived by her children, David (Sandy) Milam of Parkersburg, WV, Mark Milam of Batavia, and Barbara Josey of Pembroke; a step-daughter, Judy Josey of Baltimore, MD; son-in-law, Ed Stevenson of Bergen; sister-in-law, Diane Jenkins of Belpre, OH.  Several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren also survive.

She is preceded in death a son, Ronald Milam; daughter, Laurie Stevenson; and a brother, Gary Jenkins.

There will be no visitation.  A memorial service will be held at the convenience of the family.  In lieu of flowers, contributions in Luella's memory may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.

Felicia L. (DeFazio) Boies

Felicia L. (DeFazio) Boies, age 89, passed away Sunday morning (December 8, 2019) at the Premier Genesee Center for Nursing & Rehabilitation.

She was born April 1, 1930 in Batavia, the daughter of the late Salvatore and Josephine (Morreale) DeFazio. Felicia received a business degree from Rochester Business Institute (RBI). She worked as a secretary for many years at Montgomery Ward, Dairylea and Tyler Truck Lines and retired in 1991. After her retirement she enjoyed working part time in the cafeteria for the Batavia School District.

She is survived by her brother John DeFazio of Rochester, sisters Rose (Thomas) Butera of Florida, Mary Dee Ognibene of Batavia, many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Felicia was predeceased by her husband Paul (Jim) Boies on September 1, 1998, two brothers, Leonard and Alphonso DeFazio, two sisters, Concetta Penepent and Jo Marie DeGoris; two brothers-in-law, Lawrence Ognibene and Philip Penepent; sister-in-law Rose DeFazio.

At her request there will be no calling hours. A Rite of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday (Dec. 14th) at 9:30am at Resurrection Parish, St. Joseph Worship Site, 303 East Main St., Batavia, NY. Interment will be private in St. Joseph Cemetery.

Ellen "Betty" Snyder

LeRoy - Ellen "Betty" Snyder, 88, of LeRoy, went to be with Jesus on Saturday, December 7, 2019, at Strong Memorial Hospital.

Betty was born December 28, 1930, in Rochester, a daughter of the late Oliver and Alice (Burns) Cooper. 

Betty loved the Lord, her family and grandchildren.  A member of Grace Baptist Church in Batavia, Betty will leave a legacy of love and will be remembered as a caregiver, a "hugger" and always making her cookies for family and friends.  She was a nurse at the former St. Jerome's Hospital in Batavia and the Livingston County Nursing Facility in Geneseo.  Betty often donated blood. 

Survivors include her husband, Connie J. Snyder of LeRoy; her children, Franklyn P. (Karen) Snyder of Akron, Stephen O. (Krissi) Snyder of Pennsylvania, Dennis C. (Jayne) Snyder of Batavia, Bonnie L. (Kenneth) Young of Jensen Beach, FL and Thomas C. Snyder of Jensen Beach, FL.; 10 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews

Betty is predeceased by her brothers and sisters.

Calling hours are Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Bohm-Calarco-Smith Funeral Home, 308 East Main Street, Batavia and also on Friday from 10 to 11 a.m. at Grace Baptist Church, 238 Vine Street, Batavia.  Betty's funeral will be Friday at 11:00 a.m. at Grace Baptist Church, 238 Vine Street, Batavia.  Burial will be in Machpelah Cemetery, LeRoy.

Mrs. Mary Ann Reigle

Davenport, Florida - Mary Ann Reigle, age 72, longtime resident of Batavia, passed away unexpectedly at her home on Thursday, December 5, 2019.

Mary Ann was born April 30, 1947, in Batavia, a daughter of the late John Torcello and  Mary Lou Constantino Torcello.

A member of St. Joseph's Church and St. Joseph's Sodality, Mary Ann was a member of St. Faustina Church while she lived in Florida. She recently retired from Walt Disney World where she spent the past 15 years in Cinderella's Castle.

She is predeceased by her husband, Lawlor F. "Mike" Reigle and her brother, John F. Torcello.

She is survived by her children; Deanna (Rohn) Carlson of Melbourne Beach, Florida, Mike Reigle of Buffalo, Christopher (Betsey) Reigle of Hilton, Kevin (Amy) Reigle of Batavia and John (Ashlee) Reigle of Batavia;  14 grandchildren, Arron and Justin Carlson; Gage and Kaylee Reigle; Alison and Laura Reigle; Alexandra, Devyn, Dakota, Kamrey and Brock Reigle; and Bryce, Mackenzie and Jordan Reigle; her great-grandson Jaydence Dayka; two sisters; Linda (late Woody) Say of Rochester and Joan (Ricky) Hale of East Bethany; two sisters-in-law; Michelle Torcello of Batavia and Mary Lou (late Richard) Grimes of Batavia along with several nieces and nephews.

Charles J. Antinore

Charles J. Antinore, 78 of Batavia, passed away on December 6, 2019 at United Memorial Medical Center in Batavia. He was born in LeRoy, on July 12, 1941 to the late Charles T. (Mary Magavero) Antinore. He is preceded in death by a brother Vincent Antinore and brother-in-law Vito D’Agostino,  

Mr. Antinore graduated from LeRoy High School in 1959, lettering in football, basketball and baseball. He was a United States Army Veteran and a patriotic man. Charles retired from Armor Building Supply in Batavia. He was an avid golfer, fisherman and loved taking his grandsons fishing. Charles loved playing sports and watching sports, especially his grandsons, rarely missing one of their baseball or hockey games. Mr. Antinore was a longtime member of Resurrection Parish and was a man of great faith. Family was everything to him and he will be dearly missed.  

Mr. Antinore is survived by his beloved wife Sharon (Corcimiglia) Antinore of Batavia; daughter Cindy (Michael Cecere) Antinore of Livonia; son Thomas (Kathy) Antinore of Batavia; sister Rosa D’Agostino of LeRoy, sister-in-law Dorothy Antinore of Ballston Spa, brother-in-law Carmen (Debra) Corcimiglia of Cumberland, ME; grandsons Tyler (Crystal) and Ryan Antinore, great-grandson Colton Antinore, along with many nieces and nephews.

RUSSELL A. SEVERANCE ~ Age 68, of Batavia, died peacefully December 3, 2019 at Crossroads House. He was born in N. Tonawanda on August 6, 1951 to the late Gerald and Mary (Devlin) Severance also preceded in death by a sister, Jean Severance.

Russ served his country honorably with the US Navy and was retired from Harrison-Radiator in Lockport. His time and love was for family, especially his grandchildren.

Surviving is his wife of 15 years, Barbara (Kingdon) Severance of Batavia; his loving daughters, BethAnne (Joseph) Nicholas of LeRoy and their children, Emily & SophieAnne; Mary Margaret Gugino and her children, Cameron, Tyler, Ryleigh & Aniston; sister, Dale (Edward) Moll of Wheatfield; dear friend, Laura Dutton-Pontillo of Byron along with several nieces and nephews.

The Severance family will be present from 3-8p.m. on Monday December 9 at the MICHAEL S. KEITH C. O'BRIEN

KEITH C. O’BRIEN ~ Age 76, of Batavia, died Friday November 29, 2019 at The Grand Rehabilitation & Nursing Batavia. Keith was born February 10, 1943 in Buffalo, NY to the late Charles and Jane (Greenman) O’Brien.

Keith passed away suddenly on Friday, leaving everyone in shock. Rarely has anyone lived life as richly and deeply as Keith, so our sudden loss left many people who loved and respected him stunned. Any stranger who met Keith soon became a friend of his. He was very compassionate and the “go to” person for advice.  Keith was a dedicated father and grandfather. We will miss him terribly. Keith was a former employee of the Sears & Roebuck Co. and Independent Health and had a passion for cars.

Surviving is his adoring wife, Sandy (Elmore) O’Brien of Batavia; his loving children, Kevin (Marci) O’Brien of Tonawanda and their children, Erin & Lyndsay; Kerry (Ann) O’Brien of Tonawanda and their children, Peyton & Aiden; Debra (Roger) Toal of SC and their children, Nathan (Salena), Mitch (Becca) & Josh; Steve (Chris) Cifelli of WA, and their son, Dylan (RaeAnne); cherished great-grandchildren, Ryleigh Belle and Magnolia Grace; dear friends, George (Cindy) Cole and Paul (Robin) Emerson.

Elizabeth J. "Betty" Constantino

Batavia - Elizabeth J. "Betty" Constantino, age 81, of Batavia, passed away on Thursday, December 5, 2019, at Premier Genesee Center for Nursing and Rehabilitation.

Betty was born March 6, 1938, in Batavia, a daughter of the late Cosmo and Carrie Pulvino Constantino.

A member of St. Joseph's Church, Betty loved playing Bingo, getting her hair done and spending time with her nieces, nephews and extended family.

Survivors include her brother, Cosmo (Lucy) Constantino of Batavia and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

She is predeceased by her siblings, Vincent, Anthony, Joseph, Salvatore and Charles Constantino, Rose Smith, Elaine Mogavero and Mary Lou Torcello.

Friends may call from 2 - 4 p.m. on Sunday at the H.E. Turner & Co. Funeral Home, 403 East Main Street, Batavia where services will be held at 1 p.m. on Monday. Lillian C. Antinore

LeRoy ~ Lillian C. Antinore, age 85, passed away Thursday evening (December 5, 2019) at the LeRoy Village Green Nursing Home surrounded by her loving family.

    

She was born March 18, 1934 in Cortland, NY, a daughter of the late John and Agnes Storey Cherchio.

     Lillian will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister, who was devoted to her family and her faith.  She was a member of the Third Order of Our Lady of Mercy Parish and was known for her "prayer list" for the people of her community.  She made and delivered St. Joseph's bread for over 50 years and was retired from the Boy Scouts of America, where she was the Office Manager for many years.

     She is survived by her children; Laurie Carlson of Rochester, Nancy (Joseph) Szymanski of LeRoy, Joanne (Joseph) Dermady of Irondequoit, Anthony Antinore of Rochester and Carol (Susan Schinaman) Antinore of Rochester; grandchildren, Kimberly Antinore, Angela (Cole) Farner, Luke Carlson (Jess Moody) and Katherine Dermady; great-grandchildren, Jack and Mason Farner; sisters, Gloria Havington of Cortland and Carol Bailey of Ocala, FL; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Karen and Milton Ebersold of LeRoy, along with many nieces and nephews.

     She was predeceased by her husband of 59 years, Joseph A. Antinore and brothers-in-law, Charles Havington and Red Bailey.

     The family would like to thank the staff of the LeRoy Village Green Nursing Home for their care and compassion during their mom's residency.

     Family and friends may call on Monday, Dec. 9 from 3 ~ 7 PM at the Falcone Family Funeral & Cremation Service, 8700 Lake Road (Rt. 19), LeRoy.  Her Rite of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday at 11 AM at Our Lady of Mercy Parish, St. Peter's Church, 44 Lake St., LeRoy. Interment in St. Francis Cemetery will be private.

Mary Ann O'Shea

LeRoy ~ Mary Ann O'Shea, age 76, passed away on Wednesday, December 4, 2019 after a long battle with cancer.  She was born to the late James Cifelli and Viola Pfalzer on August 19, 1943.

    

 Mary Ann attended Notre Dame High School in Batavia.  After graduation, she married the love of her life, Richard Wendall O'Shea, on October 13, 1962.  Mary Ann was a loving, dedicated mother to four children and seven grandchildren.  She was very proud of her family and made sure she attended every sporting event and performance.  She was the rock of her family.

     Mary Ann was very active in the LeRoy community.  She was a cub scout leader, bingo captain, PTA member, Eucharistic Minister and Catholic Church volunteer.  She enjoyed spending time with family and friends, traveling and playing bridge.

     Mary Ann was known for her strength and unwillingness to give up.  She will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

     Mary Ann is survived by her husband of 57 years, Richard W. O'Shea, sons, Brian C. O'Shea and Robert P. (Tracey) O'Shea; daughters, Karen E. (William) O'Shea-Bartley and Kathleen A. O'Shea; grandchildren, Thomas and Taylor O'Shea, Sean Bartley, Keriann Bartley-Zahorviko, Jack Bartley, Luke Bartley and Avery Graziosi; siblings, James Cifelli and Thomas (Karen) Cifelli, along with many nieces, nephews and dear friends.

     Family and friends may call on Sunday, Dec. 8 from 2 ~ 5 P.M. at the Falcone Family Funeral & Cremation Service Inc., 8700 Lake Road (Rt. 19), LeRoy.  Her Rite of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, Dec. 9 at 11:00 A.M. at Our Lady of Mercy Parish, St. Peter's Church, 44 Lake St., LeRoy.  Interment private.
