Jenna was working at Oak Orchard Health in Albion and was just given a promotion. She recently completed her duel Bachelors Degree from SUNY Brockport. Jenna loved to read, write, and being bilingual loved the Spanish language. She was an avid Detroit Red Wings Fan and loved animals. Her faith was her passion, she was a member of Baptist Church of Perry, she was extremely active in the church especially as a church youth group leader and spent countless hours studying the Bible. Jenna enjoyed the time she spent with her younger cousins and simply loved to be with her family.

Along with her parents she is survived by her brother Jonathan Borek of Perry; maternal grandparents Jeffrey (Dorothy) Marcy of Gainesville; aunts and uncles Jeffrey (Tracy) Marcy of Castile; Lisa (James) Downey of Portageville; Antoinette Dillard of Grapevine, TX; Steven Borek, William Borek, Jr., Judith (Seward) Munger all of Perry; David (Nancy) Beardsley of Castile; Donald (Carol) Beardsley of West Valley, along with many, many cousins.

She was a graduate of Batavia High School and the Bryant and Stratton Business Institute of Buffalo, New York.  She worked as a book keeper for Massey Harris in Batavia and later for the Democrat and Chronicle office in Batavia.  She was a member of the Batavia First United Methodist Church.  During World War II she was a volunteer nurse’s aide at Genesee Memorial Hospital.  After retirement she volunteered at the Holland Land Office. She loved history, travel, reading and playing Bridge.  She is remembered for her love of family, her sharp intellect and keen sense of humor.

Kathryn is survived by daughter Margaret Minneman of Allentown, PA; grandchildren Michael and Sarah Minneman of Allentown, PA along with many nieces and nephews.

Batavia - Douglas R. Strang, (71), died March 4, 2015, after a brief illness. Born in Batavia, NY, he was the son of the late Robert and Mary Kenyon Strang.  He was married to Judith Ann Markek Strang. He was a graduate of Corfu-East Pembroke High School, class of 1961 and a lifelong resident of the Western Genesee County area.

Doug was employed by E. Sprague, Batavia, Inc., Electrical Contractors, from 1964 until his death, with over 50 years of service. He owned and operated one of the area’s largest electrical construction firms.  During his tenure with the firm at one time they did the largest electrical project in the area at that time working with and for virtually every major industry.   He graduated from high school with National Merit and New York State Regents scholarships and went on to attend The College of Emporia, in Emporia Kansas. Doug was a past master of Akron Lodge #527 F&AM, Akron, NY., active serving twenty two years as the Chaplain.  In addition, Doug was a 32nd degree A.A.S.R. Valley of Buffalo, a member of Ismailia Temple A.A.O.N.M.S., serving as drill instructor and Captain of the Motor Corps, the Shrine precision motorcycle drill team. A member of Buffalo Court #22 Royal Order of Jesters and a charter member of the Jesters on wheels motorcycle unit. Doug's other Masonic affiliations were Western Star Chapter #35 R.A.M., Batavia Commandery #34, K.T., and the BiCentennialMaster Association of Erie County.  Doug was a member the Loyal order of the Moose Lodge #1132, in LeRoy.  In addition, Doug was also a member of Batavia Lodge #950 B.P.O.E., the Jamestown Shrine Club and the Kachina Club. He served on the board of the Raymond Lawrence Fund  (a Masonic benevolent fund) and was life member of the American Motorcyclist Association.  Doug was a boy scout, cub scout Packmaster, Little League Coach and member of the Pioneer Men’s Club predecessors of the present Pembroke Youth Athletics Club. He was a longtime member and active in the International Association of Electrical Inspectors, the National Electrical Contractors Association and the former adequate wiring bureau of western New York.

He endowed the original Rachael Kenyon Memorial Fund (a scholarship fund for students) at Pembroke Central School District and the very first CD Rom drive to the school while serving on a technology committee at the school.  Doug was a member of the Pembroke Central School District Board of Education, for over ten years, serving as Vice President and then President. During this period he was also one of the individuals who helped establish the Genesee Valley School Boards Association after the merger of Batavia and Mount Morris BOCES districts. He also served as a state legislative network representative of the New York State School Boards Association to the New York State Legislature.  While still active on the school board he was elected to serve as councilman on the Batavia Town Board. 

Doug is survived by his immediate family sons, Scott D. Strang (Joanna) of Batavia and Douglas R. Strang, Jr. (Melissa) of Corfu, and his daughter Kimberly M. Strang-Ferreira (Joe) of Batavia.  Two brothers, Donald (Linda) and Robert (Sandra) of Attica, two sisters Susan (George) Anderson of Tucson and Deborah (Glenn) Russ of Corfu. Several cousins, nieces and nephews, and many close personal friendships that have sustained him across his lifetime. He loved his grandkids more than anything in the world.

Relatives and friends may call on Saturday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Sunday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. at the C.B. Beach and Son Mortuary, Inc., 4 East Main Street, Corfu.  Funeral services will be held Monday at 1 p.m. at the Corfu United Presbyterian Church, 63 Allegheny Street, Corfu. Marks formal education took place in Chicago Schools. He enlisted in the United States Army, and his training as an Infantry Rifleman took place at Ft. Benning, GA. Mark served 2 tours of Duty in Germany and was appointed to attend the French Army Commando School. He interviewed and photographed with the Army Stars and Stripes Europe Addition. Mark previously worked for Tropicana Oil in Chicago, Archway Cookie Company and Livingston County Nursing. He was a member of the Perry Vets Club and the American Legion 350 McKelton Post in Perry. Mark was an accomplished pianist and loved music especially heavy metal. He was an avid Cubs, Bears and Raiders fan. Chicago will always be his home. “Up The Irons.”

Mark is survived by his son Jay Vogel of Chicago; daughters Ashley (Fiancé Derek Baker) Vogel of Perry, Erin (Fabian) Rodriguez of Chicago and brother John (Brenda) Vogel along with 4 grandchildren.

Nancy worked as a Registered Nurse for Genesee Memorial Hospital prior to retirement.  She was a Deacon at East Bethany Presbyterian Church and sang in the choir. Nancy loved gardening and bowling.

She is survived by her loving children Mary A. (Christopher) Savino of Wappingers Falls, NY, Karen M. DeFelice of Pavilion; brother Larry (Pat) MacConnell of LeRoy; grandchildren Amanda S. MacConnell, Brian A. DeFelice, Bradley A. DeFelice along with several nieces and nephews.

Oakfield - Orma Marie Worthington, 87, a longtime resident of Oakfield and resident of the School House Manor in Oakfield for twenty years and the owner and operator of the former Oakfield Cash Market, passed away on Saturday, February 28, 2015 at Genesee County Nursing Home, in Batavia.

Orma was born on August 5, 1927 in Lisbon, a daughter of the late Fredrick and Florine (Mills) Montroy.

In January 1948, she married Newell Worthington and was a longtime Oakfield Resident. 

She owned and operated the Oakfield Cash Market from 1947 through 1953 and from 1962 to 1975.  In the late 1950's she owned the Royal Restaurant and The Country Grill.  She was the manager of the Oakfield Mobile Home Park through the 1980’s and into the 90’s.  Orma was proud of her nurse's training and was an extremely hard worker with a focus on raising her sons. 

She was the loving mother to James (Carrie), Jeffrey (Kristin), and John (Sandy) and the proud grandmother of Jennifer, Becky, Jeffrey, Holly, Jamie, Randy and Kasey as well as 7 great-grandchildren. 

She was preceded in death by her sisters, Belva Meyer and Shirley Ram.   

Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Burdett and Sanford Funeral Home, 11 Maple Ave., Oakfield.  Orma’s Mass of Christian burial will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Padre Pio Parish, St. Cecelia’s Worship Site, 56 Maple Ave., Oakfield, NY.   In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Muriel H. Batavia ~ Edward Panek , age 56, passed away early Saturday morning (Feb. 28, 2015) at Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester.

     He enjoyed motorcycles and family gatherings.  He also resided in Daytona for several years, where he loved to watch nascar racing and go fishing every chance he had.    

     Mr. Panek is survived by his son, Daniel Panek (Sarah Bell) of LeRoy; brothers, Duane (Carol) Lamendola of Chili, Robert Panek of Daytona Beach and Ronald (Gerri) Panek of Wyoming; sisters, Denise (Robert) Renouf of Hornell, Sheree Panek of Pavilion and Mary (David) Coates of LeRoy; along with several nieces, nephews and cousins.  In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brother and sister-in-law, David and Heather Panek. 

     Family and friends are invited to a Celebration of Ed's Life on Saturday, March 7 from 1 ~ 5 PM at the LeRoy American Legion, 53 W. Main Street. Interment in St. Francis Cemetery will be at the convenience of the family.

Butch was a graduate of Alexander Central High School. Upon graduation he entered the service. Butch was a Corporal Combat Engineer of the United States Army, WWII.  He earned 5 Battle Stars, fought at Omaha Beach during the Normandy Invasion, Battle of the Bulge, Battle for the Ludendorff Bridge at Remagen. He was a member of the 299^th Engineers (Combat) Battalion. He was recently honored with a living tribute by the Patriot Guard Riders. His expertise in masonry and pride in his work was evident in the beautiful homes he built in the area. After his retirement he pursued a second career in 1980 as a Building Inspector for New York State Office of General Services which he retired from in 2001. He loved to read and was a huge fan of the Buffalo Bills. His greatest joy however was spending quality time with his grandchildren.  Butch was a member of SS Joachim and Anne Parish and a life member of the Bricklayer and Allied Craft-Workers Local 45.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 66 years Helen “Honey” (Shreder) Spring; daughter Mary Kay (Dr. Gerardo) Palacios of Tampa, FL; son Jim Spring of Buffalo; sisters Betty Bauer of Batavia, Barbara Spring of Batavia; 3 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren along with many nieces and nephews.

She was born in Buffalo, NY on August 22, 1931, daughter of the late Clarence P. and Catherine Schimmer Wangler.

Joan was a former Sister of St. Joseph and a cook for the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Church in Williamsville.  She was a member of St. Teresa’s Church in Akron.  Joan also enjoyed cooking and baking and will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

She was predeceased by her husband, Clarence Stark.

Survivors include three brothers, Paul (Karen) Wangler of West Falls, NY, Thomas (Gayle) Wangler of Newton, MA and David (Marilyn) Wangler of Edmonton, Alberta.  Two sisters, Ann (late William) Sayers of Akron and Mary (late Jack) Young of Pembroke.  Several nieces and nephews also survive.

Mrs. Tourville worked for PW Minor. She enjoyed scrapbooking and put together numerous photo albums for her family. Mickey was an avid Buffalo Bills Fan, enjoyed doing crafts, playing the lotto and playing bingo. She loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren during the Christmas Season.

Pavilion ~ William L. Lamb, age 45, passed away peacefully on Thursday, February 26, 2015 at Strong Memorial Hospital, surrounded by his loving family.

     Will had exceptional math skills and enjoyed working with his hands to putter and build things.  He also had the incredible gift to make everyone laugh.  He was quick to joke, poke fun when the chance arose and reminisce about the good times from the past.  His positive attitude was infectious.  His glass was always half full, never empty.  Spending time with family and friends was Will's greatest joy.  We will miss him dearly. Gone from this earth, but never from our hearts.

     "The Golden Gates stood open, God saw you needed rest, His garden must be beautiful, He only takes the best."

     Will is survived by his loving wife of 14 years, Mardell Parmenter Lamb; children, Tiffany Rose of Spencerport and William II at home; his mother, Rosemary Penepent of Stafford; step-children, Vincent Longhany and Liana Longhany; step-sisters and brother, Christine Cannon of Corfu, Cheryl Carey of Batavia and Nicholas Carey of FL; mother-in-law, Mary L. Cordes; brothers-in-law, Tom Parmenter and Tim (Denise) Parmenter; best friend, Mark Dickes of Pavilion; his crazy cat, "Silly Girl", along with many nieces and nephews.

     In addition to his father, he was predeceased by his step-father, Gerald Carey.

Ron was the loving devoted husband of 19 years to Elizabeth (Zalewski) Brown and loving devoted father to Katelyn “Punkin” and Nicholas “Buddy” Brown. He loved his family with all his heart and soul. Everything that he did showed his love and devotion to his family. Ron was always there to lend a helping hand to family and friends. Ron worked for Eastern Tank Services in Amherst New York until he became disabled in 2011.  The Brown Family would like to thank the Visiting Nurse Association for providing wonderful care and support during this difficult time.  Ron will be missed by all who knew him.

     Gertrude was born on April 19, 1924 in Amsterdam, N.Y. to the late John and Marjorie Kimmins Hoshko.

     Following her graduation from Amsterdam High School, she attended the Rochester Park Avenue School of Nursing where she received her degree as a Registered Nurse.  She was employed at Lakeside Memorial Hospital, Brockport, N.Y. for 30 years prior to her retirement.  She was a member of the Twig Association of Lakeside Memorial Hospital, the Gillam Grant Community Center, Park Avenue Hospital Alumni Association  and the Covered Bridge Society of Western New York.  Gertrude enjoyed camping, bowling, crocheting and completing jigsaw puzzles.

     She was predeceased by her husband, Wallace in 1983, son, Kevin in 2014, sisters, Ruth and Marjorie, brother, Arthur and two infant children.

     She is survived by her children, Eugene (Mary Dixon) of California, Ronald (Marsha) of Batavia, Donna Ladd of Waterford, NY, Joanne Ladd and Brian Ladd (Susan Wilson) at home, Timothy (Susan) of Oklahoma, Dennis (Rochele) of Holley; predeceased son, Kevin's fiance, Ann Gardner; brother-in-law, Walter Wehnau; 12 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.

Woody recently celebrated his 80^th birthday on January 23, 2015. He was a graduate of the class of 1954 of Perry Central School. He was married to Coralyn (McClurg) Wood for 58 years. Woody was a member of the Laborers Union in Rochester, New York and worked as a Construction Foreman for many years. He was a life time member of the Perry Center Fire Department and former manager of the Perry Raceway. Woody was also a member of the Army Reserves where he was a Drill Sergeant. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, hiking and spending time with his family.

He is survived by his wife Coralyn (McClurg) Wood; daughter Karen Robb; son Kevin (Lanette) Wood; sisters Evelyn Shaughnessy, Laura (Jim) Richards and sister-in-law Helene (Richard) Wood; grandchildren LeighAnn (Mitch) Res, Chelsea Robb, Brighton Wood, Kendrick Wood, Camden Wood Sarah Wood; and great-grandchildren Elijah and Sarah Rex.
