Edwin L. Stancliff, 32, of Alleghany Road, Pembroke, and Adrienne F. Yocina, 31, of Alleghany Road, Pembroke, are charged with unlawful growing of cannabis and criminal possession of marijuana, 5th. Both charges are misdemeanors. Stancliff and Yocina were allegedly found growing cannabis on their property and possessing marijuana in excess of 25 grams during an investigation of an incident at 8:20 p.m., Aug. 13, 2010.

Tammy Marie Chojnacki, 40, of Pike Road, Batavia, is charged with felony DWI and felony driving with a BAC of .08 or greater. Chojnacki was arrested by Deputy Matt Fleming at her residence following an investigation at 9:24 p.m., Saturday, into a reported domestic incident in her car.

Jesse Stephen Stocking, 24, of Genesee Street, Corfu, is charged with DWI, driving with a BAC of .08 or greater and speeding. Stocking was stopped on Route 33 in Pembroke at 4:46 p.m., Saturday, by Deputy Matt Fleming.

Robert Jeffery Curry, 22, of Dillon Road, Pavilion, is charged with unlawful dealing with a child. Following a complaint to the Tip Line at 1:02 a.m., Saturday, Curry was arrested for allegedly hosting an underage drinking party at his residence.

Christopher Willard Logsdon, 24, of Big Tree Road, Pavilion, is charged with unlawful dealing with a child. Following a complaint to the Tip Line at 12:23 a.m., Saturday, Curry was arrested for allegedly hosting an underage drinking party at his residence.

Cody Allen Eaton, 22, of Main Street, Attica, is charged with DWI, driving with a BAC of .18 or greater and speeding. Eaton was stopped at 1:54 a.m., Saturday, on Pearl Street Road, Batavia, by Deputy Howard Carlson.

John Charles McGrath, 43, of South Main Street, Batavia, is charged with criminal mischief, 4th, resisting arrest and harassment, 2nd.

Lori Ann Brightenfield, 52, of Main Road, Stafford, is charged with aggravated harassment, 2nd. Brightenfield is accused of using a telephone for no legitimate purpose to contact another person she was allegedly told previously not to contact.

Joseph Carl Jeffords, 21, of Swan Street, Batavia, is charged with criminal mischief. Jeffords is accused of driving across the lawn at College Village and while driving across the lawn, intentionally speeding up, leaving ruts. The alleged incident was caught on tape.

Wilson Figueroa, 28, of Conkey Avenue, Rochester, is charged with criminal contempt, 2nd. Figueroa's car was stopped for alleged traffic violations on Route 33, Stafford, and was found to allegedly have as a passenger protected by an active stay away order.

Stephen D. Reamer, 53, of 76 Gilbert St., Le Roy, is charged with felony aggravated DWI. Reamer was stopped Friday morning in Le Roy by Le Roy Police.

More than 30 people got their heads shaved at Pembroke High School on Friday to help raise money to support the Roswell Cancer Institute in Buffalo.

The event raised more than $10,000, according to faculty member Melisa Dettbarn.

"Cancer affects our community profoundly," Dettbarn said. "A lot of kids have been affected. A lot of faculty has been affected."

Tyler Lang, a student involved with the Kiwanis Key Club, worked as one of the student organizers and he said he found the event very emotional and very rewarding.

"It's just a blessing to be doing this for Roswell," he said.

One of his classmates was recently diagnosed with cancer.

"We're supporting him and we're supporting everyone else at Roswell," Tyler said.

Two years ago, another "Bald for Bucks" event raised more than $7,000 for Roswell.

Pembroke HS has been involved in a few fundraisers for Roswell and other charities in recent years, including "Shoot for a Cure" in January and "Shades for AIDS" last year.

Dettbarn said these events just reflect the nature of Pembroke.

"We’re really a close community," Dettbarn said. "It’s unreal. We’re really tight knit.  Everybody pitches in. Even if we don’t all always get along, everybody is right there the minute you need them."

Pembroke eked out a narrow victory over Notre Dame in the semifinals of the Mock Trial Tournament Wednesday.

The four remaining teams faced off in Warsaw.

While Pembroke won on points against Notre Dame (101 to 99), splitting the match 1-1, Attica beat Warsaw handily, 124 to 88, taking both sides (prosecution and defense) of the match.

Pembroke and Attica will square off at 5:30 p.m., Monday, in the Genesee County Courthouse with Judge Robert C. Noonan on the bench.

Which ever team wins Monday, it will be the first time in the history of the local tournament that a team other than Batavia won. Batavia went 1-3 in early competition and was knocked out before the quarterfinals.

It's Kicks Butt Day and members of the Pembroke Intermediate School SADD Club (Students Against Destructive Decisions) protested at their school against the marketing tactics of Big Tobacco wherein cigarette companies deliberately target teens as potential customers.

A grass fire is burning out of control and approaching a structure at 8959 S. Lake Road in Pembroke. Pembroke and Indian Falls fire departments are responding. The location is between Scribner and Cohocton roads.

UPDATE 3:23 p.m.: The fire is now under control.

UPDATE 3:36 p.m.: The fire is out. All fire units are back in service.

Mason Dumbleton, 20, of Pavilion, is charged with DWI, driving with a BAC of .08 or greater, unsafe speed, unsafe lane change and unlawful possession of marijuana. Dumbleton was reportedly involved in a motor-vehicle accident on Route 20A in the Town of Perry at 10:30 p.m., Saturday. Dumbleton's vehicle reportedly left the south side of the road, struck a driveway culvert and a utility pole causing it to go airborne. The car landed on its roof. Dumbleton reportedly suffered minor injuries and was treated at the scene.

Daniel Norman Brown, 39, of Lake Street, Le Roy, is charged with criminal contempt, 2nd. Brown is accused of placing a phone call to a person he is barred from contacting. Brown was also arrested the day before, on Sunday, and charged with harassment, 2nd. Brown was accused of grabbing a woman and pushing her down.

Enoch Ronald Cole, 61, of Lake Street Road, Le Roy, is charged with harassment, 2nd. Cole allegedly punched another person in the back.

Kevin James Hodge, 28, of Valley View Drive, Batavia, is charged with petit larceny. Hodge is accused of stealing $66.21 in merchandise from Kmart.

Kathryn Ann Tordy, 45, of Sheriden Drive, Williamsville, is charged with DWI, driving with a BAC of .08 or greater, improper left turn and failure to keep right. Tordy was stopped at 12:34 a.m. Saturday on Remsen Road, Pembroke, by Deputy Kevin McCarthy.

Daniel Jay Balduf, 20, of Angling Road, Pembroke, is charged with DWI, driving with a BAC of .08 or greater and insufficient tail lamps. Balduf was stopped at 3:35 a.m. Saturday on Angling Road by Deputy Kevin McCarthy.

Danielle Marie Stevens, 35, of Ford Road, Elba, is charged with criminal trespass, 2nd. Stevens allegedly entered and remained unlawfully in a hotel room.

Jill Ann Fulater, 59, of Shepard Road, Batavia, is charged with DWI, driving left of pavement markings and improper right turn. Fulater as stopped by Deputy Kevin McCarthy at 4:20 a.m. Sunday on Route 63, Batavia, following a complaint of an erratic driver.

Timothy Ryan McJury, 24, of Madison Street, Batavia, was arrested on a bench warrant for petit larceny. McJury was arraigned in Town of Batavia Court. McJury was arrested on a city court warrant for parking violations. McJury was jailed on $1,000 bail.

A 17-year-old resident of Warboys Road, Byron, is charged with unlawful possession of marijuana, speeding (75 mph in a 55 mph zone) and driving on a junior license (state Class DJ) after 9 p.m. and driving on a DJ license with two or more passengers under age 21. The youth was stopped at 1:13 a.m. Sunday on Buffalo Road, Bergen, by Deputy Timothy Weis.

A car fire is reported on the westbound Thruway at mile marker 400. Pembroke and Indian Falls fire departments are responding.

UPDATE 7:07 p.m.: A responder on scene reports "nothing showing."

UPDATE 7:09 p.m.: It appears to be a blown engine, not a fire. All units back in service.

A one-car accident is reported on the Thruway at the 48A westbound on ramp. An occupant is complaining of unknown injuries. Pembroke and Indian Falls fire departments and Mercy EMS are responding.

UPDATE 7:10 p.m.: A responder on scene says the car has heavy damage and is now in the woods after rolling over numerous times. Responders will have to go eastbound and take the Route 77 overpass to get to the location.

UPDATE 7:16 p.m.: There is one occupant, who was out of the vehicle -- walking, conscious and alert -- when medics arrived. He will be boarded and collared as per protocol and taken to a local hospital. State Troopers are also on scene.

UPDATE 7:29 p.m.: Pembroke and Indians Falls are back in service.

Heavy smoke is spewing from the chimney of a church in Pembroke that has been converted into a house, according to a Pembroke firefighter on scene. The location is 690 Main Road on the corner of Lake Road. It looks like it's confined to the chimney. Corfu and Darien are also responding.

UPDATE 5:29 p.m.: The address is determined to be 8576 North Lake Road. Indian Falls is responding, too. All incoming units are to stage at Pembroke Engine 85, which is in a driveway across the street.

UPDATE 5:32 p.m.: They are trying to contact the homeowner regarding entry to the house but "have not heard back."

UPDATE 5:34 p.m.: An unlocked door has been located on the north side of the structure. Interior firefighters are going to enter "to see what we can see." A firefighter warns that dogs can be heard barking inside. Akron is on scene. They are putting up ladder(s) on the roof.

UPDATE 5:37 p.m.: Two dogs are seen locked in the basement along with a cat. There's no smoke. The furnace is on. The cat is running around. They'll need to gain front entry to get to the basement. They have not been able to contact the occupants. Animal control is not available, according to dispatch. A code enforcement officer is called. There are multiple renovations under way. They are putting up a light tower and taking statements from people at the scene.

UPDATE 5:43 p.m.: They are going to contact the owner of the building, who lives in Indian Falls. The interior crew has reached the stove in the center of the building and they have knocked the fire down, now checking for extentions. Firefighters have to be careful inside as there are places where flooring is missing and there are open beams.

UPDATE 5:45 p.m.: They are shutting off the gas to the stove, which was "jerry-rigged," according to a firefighter. National Fuel has been contacted.

UPDATE 5:52 p.m.: One of the occupants has been located at the Union Hotel and firefighters are speaking with him. They are getting into the basement. They are all set with manpower and will begin releasing some of the responders.

UPDATE 5:55 p.m.: The Town of Pembroke's building inspector is going to be contacted. "It's definately needed," says the firefighter making the request. The female occupant is heading to the scene.

UPDATE 6:03 p.m.: "You can disregard contacting the building inspector. We're on the phone with zoning now." Once the occupant arrives, she can "take care of the dogs so we can get in there."

UPDATE 6:10 p.m.: A zoning officer is on scene.

UPDATE 6:14 p.m.: Corfu units are leaving the scene, in service. A National Fuel rep is on site.

UPDATE 6:30 p.m.: Darien is back in quarters. The zoning officer has been provided the appropriate paperwork from the fire chief and there will be no further use of the chimney allowed at the residence until proper repairs are made and there is a re-inspection.

A driver says she served to avoid a deer leading to an accident that sent herself and two passengers to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Shaunta M. Jackson, 23, of Batavia, was driving north on Slusser Road in Pembroke at 4:54 p.m., Saturday, when she lost control of her car.

After swerving to avoid the deer, she said her 2000 Ford SUV left the east shoulder of the road. She over-corrected, the vehicle went off the west shoulder and she turned the wheel to avoid hitting a tree, at which point the vehicle overturned.

Also injured were Nikayla C. Jackson, 19, and Kyle J. Jackson, 18. 

All three people were transported by Mercy EMS to an area hospital.

The accident was investigated by Deputy Joseph Graff.

Shane Scott, 17, of Forestville, Pa., William Gorton, 17, of 92 Lake St., Le Roy and a 15-year-old boy are accused of participating in a burglary. Shane and William are charged with burglary, 3rd, and attempted burglary, 2nd. They are accused of entering an apartment building Thursday on Bacon Street, Le Roy, and attempting to steal property from the apartment. The 15-year-old will be referred to Family Court. They were arraigned and released under supervision of the probation department. William was also charged with burglary, 2nd, in connection with an alleged break-in Feb. 19 on Myrtle Street. Additional arrests in the case are pending.

Katie L. Orlando, 19, of 24 Craigie St., Le Roy, is charged with coercion, 1st. Orlando is accused of going into the apartment of a person and threatening that person. Orlando allegedly later called that person on the phone and issued a threat. The alleged threats came after the victim reportedly called 9-1-1 the night before and were allegedly intended to intimidate the victim from calling 9-1-1 in the future. Orlando was jailed on $2,500 bail.

Steven Carnell McKnight, 18, of 14th Street, Buffalo, is charged with burglary, 2nd, and criminal mischief, 2nd. McKnight allegedly forced his way into a residence on Gabbey Road in Pembroke on Feb. 14 in order to steal property from the residence.

Willie F. Irvin II, 29, 12 Elm St., Batavia, is charged with criminal mischief, 4th, and reckless endangerment of property, and Randy Johnson, 24, of 110 Walnut St., Batavia, is charged with reckless endangerment of property. Irvin and Johnson are accused of fighting in a bar in Batavia and in the process damaging a video game and glass display case.

Casey Willowbear, 52, of Sanford Street, Rochester, is charged with unlawful possession of marijuana. Willowbear was stopped for allegedly speeding at 9:12 p.m., Wednesday, on West Main Street Road by Deputy Matthew Fleming. She was allegedly found in possession of a glass pipe containing burnt marijuana inside her vehicle.

A 17-year-old of Judge Road, Alabama, is charged with petit larceny. An employee at Wilson Farms, 25 Main St., Oakfield, observed the youth allegedly trying to leave the store with merchandise concealed under her shirt.

Paul J. Doctor, 34, of 20 Maple St., lower apt., Batavia, is charged with burglary, 2nd, burglary, 3rd, and petit larceny. Doctor is accused of entering an unoccupied residence and garage on Jackson Street and removing appliances and other property without permission of the owner. Doctor allegedly removed the property between Jan. 13 and Jan. 17.

Kevin Bruce Martin, 28, of Clinton Street, Cowlesville, is charged with two counts of criminal possession of hypodermic needles. Martin's vehicle was stopped on Lewiston Road at 6:30 p.m., Jan. 22, by Deputy Brian Thompson for allegedly having a suspended registration due to no insurance.

Jeramy Michael Farnsworth, 30, of Tracy Avenue, Batavia, is charged with failure to pay child support. Farnsworth was arrested by Batavia PD on a warrant out of Genesee County Family Court and turned over to the Sheriff's Office. Following arraignment in Town of Batavia Court he was jailed on $1,000 bail.

Ronald William Ball, 46, of Pratt Road, Pembroke, is charged with two counts of criminal mischief, 4th. Ball allegedly damaged the a/c controls of another person's car during a verbal argument. Ball then allegedly went to the residence of the person and damaged the house door and door frame.

Carolyn M. Hooten, 29, and Vanessa R. Wright, 24, both of of 12 Myrtle St., Le Roy, are charged with petit larceny. Hooten and Wright are accused of shoplifting at Dollar General at 3:41 p.m., Feb. 23.

Carolyn M. Hooten, 29, of 12 Myrtle St., Le Roy, is charged with DWI, unlicensed operation, operating with inadequate tail lamps and without stop lamps and failure to use turn signal. Hooten was stopped at 1:49 a.m., Saturday, on Ellicott Street by Officer Kevin DeFelice.

Mark Russell O'Gee, 57, of South Street Road, Le Roy, is charged with harassment, 2nd. O'Gee is accused of grabbing another person's arm and shoving her during an argument.

Elizabeth Ann Wortman, 24, of Church Street, Le Roy, is charged with criminal contempt, 2nd. Wortman is accused of violating an order of protection.

Ronald M. Clark, 45, of Lake Street Road, Le Roy, is charged with petit larceny. Clark was spotted by police running east on West Main Street at around 8 p.m., Feb. 21, when police received a report of a person who stole canned fish and candy from Save-A-Lot. Clark is accused of stealing two cans of sardines and a Baby Ruth candy bar.

A three-car accident with minor injuries is reported at 8091 Alleghany Road (Route 77) in Pembroke. It is blocking traffic. The location is between Indians Falls and Akron roads. Law enforcement on scene says the roads are icy and vehicles should use caution on approach.

Pembroke and Indian Falls fire departments and Mercy EMS are responding.

The driver of the vehicle which allegedly caused the accident left the scene. It's a red pickup with out-of-state plates, hauling a small U-Haul trailer.

UPDATE 4:57 p.m.: Law enforcement has stopped the red truck.

UPDATE 5:05 p.m.: Mercy medics are cancelled. There are five "sign-offs" -- people who don't want or need medical treatment.

UPDATE 5:15 p.m.: Pembroke and Indian Falls units are back in service.

Joseph S. Rosen, 28, of 4727 Half Center Road, Walworth, is charged with felony DWI, aggravated DWI and criminal mischief, 4th. At 11:07 p.m. Monday, Batavia PD was dispatched to Chapin Industries on Ellicott Street for a report of a car driving on the front lawn of the complex. The driver was allegedly yelling toward the building, trying to get the attention of a worker inside. Officer Darryl Streeter responded and arrested Rosen. Rosen's breath sample allegedly registered .18 BAC. He was held without bail pending arraignment in city court.

Cynthia M. Ritter, 50, of Cohocton Road, Corfu, is charged with DWI and driving with a BAC of .08 or greater. Ritter was arrested by Deputy Matthew Fleming following an investigation into an accident at 7:05 p.m., Monday, on Marble Road, Pembroke. (Initial report)

Samoni Tai Hazle, 36, of Laredo Drive, Chili, is charged with unlawful possession of marijuana. Hazle was taken into custody while staying at a hotel in Batavia after deputies were called in response to other guests complaining of the odor of marijuana coming from his room.

David Eugene Stupp, 41, of Bennett Heights, Batavia, is charged with harassment, 2nd. Stupp is accused of hitting an estranged girlfriend.

Margaret B. Duffy, 53, of 3233 Pratt Road, Batavia, is charged with DWI, aggravated unlicensed operation, 2nd, operating in violation of a conditional license and consuming alcohol in a motor vehicle. Duffy was arrested by Officer Matthew Lutey following a report at 10:50 p.m., Friday, of a woman passed out behind the wheel of a vehicle with the motor running in a parking lot of a business on Main Street.

A car-into-pole accident is reported at 8295 Marble Road, north of Gabbey Road, in Pembroke. The driver is being pulled from the vehicle. There is heavy damage to it. Wires are down. Pembroke and Indian Falls fire departments and Mercy EMS are responding. There is a power outage now in the vicinity.

UPDATE 7:14 p.m.: There are also telephone wires down and a transformer is involved. Traffic will be blocked at Marble and Akron roads. The driver is out of the vehicle and walking around.

UPDATE 7:24 p.m.: National Grid has been notified. The driver is a male female.

UPDATE 7:45 p.m.: The roadway at Marble and Akron roads is reopened. Pembroke and Indian Falls are back in service.

UPDATE 8:22 p.m.: National Grid is on scene.

A beautiful clear morning -- hard to believe it was 21 degrees at 9 a.m. when I headed out for a bit of a drive to see what sort of pictures I might be able to take.

A two-car accident is reported in front of Kutter's Cheese Store, 857 Main Road, in Corfu. The westbound lane is blocked. There is a lot of debris and heavy damage, according to a Sheriff's deputy on scene. Injuries are believed to be minor. Pembroke and Indian Falls fire departments and Mercy medics are responding.

UPDATE 10:59 a.m.: Darien ambulance is also requested. There are two victims. One is out and walking around. The other is a 75-year-old female, who is still inside a vehicle.

UPDATE 11:44 a.m.: Darien ambulance transported one patient to UMMC.

A two-car collision with injuries is reported at South Lake Road and Cohocton Road. There is possible entrapment in one vehicle. Mercy Flight #5 is put on standby. Pembroke and Indian Falls fire departments along with Mercy EMS are dispatched. Akron fire is responding to the scene since their extrication tools may be needed.

UPDATE 1:31 p.m.: A responder at the scene says everyone is out of the vehicles. Akron's response and Mercy Flight are cancelled.

UPDATE 1:34 p.m.: Pembroke command requests a second ambulance (which will be provided by Darien). One car rolled over into a ditch. There are two people injured.

UPDATE 1:59 p.m.: One patient is being transported to UMMC and another is being taken to Millard Fillmore Suburban Hospital in Williamsville.

UPDATE 2:20 p.m.: The Pembroke and Indian Falls assignment is back in service.
