Pedestrian struck by car at Main and Jackson

A propane truck has reportedly rolled over at 599 Route 246 in the Town of Covington.
Pavilion fire and Mercy EMS responding. Le Roy asked to standby in quarters.
Mercy Flight was initially dispatched but then canceled.
A property-damage accident is reported at Route 77 and Route 5 in Pembroke. One subject is reportedly intoxicated and an argument was reported.
Deputies are responding.
A two-vehicle accident is reported at Bank and Main streets in the city. One person has a leg injury. It is blocking traffic. City fire and Mercy medics are on scene.
A motorcycle vs. vehicle accident is reported at 4170 Batavia-Elba Townline Road. The location is between Pekin Road and Batavia Oakfield Townline Road.
Town of Batavia Fire Department and Mercy medics are responding. A first responder asks that medics come in emergency mode. There are two patients.
A two-car head-on collision is reported at 1396 Main Road in Pembroke. The location is between Boyce Road and Alleghany Road. The driver of one of the vehicles has a head laceration; three others are "shaken up" but otherwise OK.
No word on injuries in the other vehicle. The accident is blocking traffic.
Law enforcement is en route. Pembroke and Indian Falls fire departments are responding along with two ambulances, one from Mercy -- the second either Mercy or Darien. Mercy Flight is on standby.
UPDATE 3:32 p.m.: There are a total of two patients with minor injuries; one has a small head laceration; the other a leg injury.
UPDATE 3:52 p.m.: Three patients were transported. This was not a direct head-on collision. A Ford Escape was westbound on Main Road when it veered into the eastbound lane and struck a Chevy Traverse; neither vehicle sustained significant damage. The Ford had damage to the passenger side; the Chevy had passenger front-end fender damage. A third, unspecified vehicle, was sideswiped in the collision but no one was injured. Two patients in the Ford Escape were transported to a hospital. The passenger in the Chevy was also taken by ambulance to a hospital.
Genesee County Sheriff's Sgt. Thomas Sanfratello was on Route 262, heading to the barn fire on Terry Street in Byron when his unmarked SUV was struck by a van traveling on Byron Road. The impact pushed the unmarked vehicle into a utility pole.
No one was injured.
Sanfratello had his emergency lights flashing and siren blaring when he slowed at the intersection, but the van's continued through the intersection. The male driver of the van was evaluated at the scene and released. Three dogs that were traveling in the van with him were likewise uninjured.
A memorial at the utility pole that was struck -- to two Byron-Bergen School students killed in a crash at that intersection years ago -- was "obliterated."
UPDATE 3:50 p.m.: Reader Valerie Patrick informs us that the memorial was for two students -- Christopher and Victoria Claus.

A person reportedly suffered a compound fracture of a leg bone in a three-wheeler accident at 39 S. Pearl Street, Oakfield.

An accident with injuries is reported at Ellicott Street and Liberty Street, Batavia.

UPDATE 10:39 p.m.: Roadway cleared about 10 minutes ago. Rear-end accident just east of the railroad tracks that cross Ellicott Street.
A pickup truck has reportedly hit a tree in the area of 6472 Alleghany Road, Alabama, between Casey and Lewiston Road.
Unknown injuries.
Alabama Fire, Mercy EMS, and Shelby's rescue dispatched.
UPDATE 11:24 p.m.: Minor facial injury due to airbag deployment.
A 51-year-old Batavia resident involved in a rollover accident on R. Stephen Hawley Drive yesterday is in guarded condition at Strong Memorial Hospital this morning.
At strong "guarded" means the patient is in the intensive care unit.
The driver of the vehicle was Gerald E. Nicholson. The initial report said Nicholson was trapped under his pickup truck after it rolled over in a cornfield to the east of the roadway. A trooper at the scene said it appeared Nicholson's truck came over the hill, heading north, on Hawley Drive and failed to negotiate the curve and Nicholson may have overcorrected.
Nicholson was transported by Mercy Flight to Strong Memorial Hospital.
A first responder said Nicholson was conscious and alert during extrication and sources described his injuries as apparently non-life threatening while he was at the scene.
State Police have not been forthcoming with information about the accident. We don't have the make, model or year of the pickup truck or any information on the status of the investigation.
UPDATE 1:35 p.m.: A State Police sergeant said Nicholson was driving a 2007 Ford F-150. It does appear he came over the hill, lost control and overcorrected. Citations have been issued but the sergeant didn't know the exact charges. The accident is still under investigation but DWI is not suspected.

Shortly after 1 p.m. a pickup truck rollover accident was reported on Assemblyman R. Stephen Hawley Drive near Batavia Stafford Town Line Road. The driver was pinned underneath the wreakage after being ejected.
Town of Batavia Fire Department responded to the scene along with mutual aid from Stafford Fire Department. State police and Sheriff's deputies were also on scene.
The male driver was reported extricated at 1:32 p.m. and it took medics 20 minutes to stablize him in an ambulance before he could be transported via Mercy Flight to Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester.
It appears the gray pickup was northbound on Assemblyman R. Stephen Hawley Drive and when it came over the crest of a hill by the MedTech Center, the driver may have lost control of the vehicle. There are skid marks in the middle of the road in front of the MedTech Center.
The pickup skidded off the roadway, flipped over, ejecting the driver and landing in a cornfield.
State police are investigating the accident.

UPDATE 6 p.m.: The State Police have declined to provide any further information about the accident.
UPDATE 7:15 p.m. : non-life threatening injuries, according to a source.
A maroon Dodge Ram 1500 pickup truck reportedly hit a mailbox and drove into a ditch in the area of 8055 Lake Street Road, Le Roy, and then continued on Route 19 toward Monroe County.
The license plate comes back to a Monroe County address.
Law enforcement is responding and Monroe County law enforcement being notified.
A motor-vehicle accident with unknown injuries is reported at Galloway and Lewiston Roads, Batavia.
The initial report was for multiple vehicles but law enforcement on scene reports only two vehicles involved. One is off into the woods with two occupants unable to exit.
Two ambulances requested to the scene, one non-emergency response.

A two-vehicle accident is reported at Route 98 (Quaker Hill Road) and Lockport Road, Elba, with possible serious injuries.
One vehicle rolled over. Two people are entrapped.
Mercy Flight requested to the scene. Town of Batavia fire requested to the Elba rec hall to set up a landing zone.
Elba fire and three ambulances dispatched.
UPDATE(S) (By Billie) 3:13 p.m.: An ambulance from Byron is requested to the scene.
UPDATE 3:49 p.m.: One person is being transported to Strong Memorial Hospital via Mercy Flight.
UPDATE 4:02 p.m.: Preliminary details indicate a pickup truck and a sedan collided at the intersection after one of the vehicles failed to yield the right of way. Two people were in each vehicle. In addition to the person airlifted to Strong, two others were transported there by Mercy medics. All three suffered non-life-threatening injuries. The fourth person involved was a sign-off. The Byron ambulance was called in for evaluation and rehab for firefighters. No firefighters were injured.
UPDATE 4:36 p.m. (By Howard): The roads are being reopened. A trooper on scene State Police will release more information tomorrow.
At least one person was injured following a single-car rollover accident on the westbound Thruway onramp in Batavia.
Mercy Flight transported a patient to ECMC following the accident at about 1 p.m.
A state trooper on scene would not provide further information.
