The following people were arrested by the Genesee County Sheriff’s Office during the Lynyrd Skynyrd Concert at Darien Lake Performing Arts Center on Friday:

Stuart M. Thorp, 41, of Magnolia Crescent, Grimsby, Ontario, Canada, arrested for criminal trespass, 3rd, after allegedly reentering the concert venue after having been ejected and told not to return. Thorp was arraigned in Darien Court and jailed in lieu of $1,500 bail.

Andrew G. Lehmann, 30, of Prospect Street, Attica, arrested for disorderly conduct after allegedly flipping over benched outside the concert venue.  Andrew was arraigned in Darien Court and released on $150 bail.

Chad R. Carrington, 25, of Marcy Place, Bronx, arrested for false personation after allegedly providing a false name to deputies. 

Pasquale A. Damato, 43, of Kinsley Road, Elma, arrested for harassment, 2nd, after allegedly punching a female in the face.

Christine M. Kroger, 52, of Barks Road, Caledonia, arrested for trespass after allegedly reentering the concert venue after being ejected and told not to return. 

The following people were arrested by the Genesee County Sheriff’s Office during the Logic Concert at Darien Lake Performing Arts Center on Tuesday:

Devon R. Westerfield, 18, of Franklin Street, Penn Yann, arrested for unlawful possession of marijuana after allegedly being found in possession of a baggie of marijuana while in the venue parking lot. 

A 17-year-old resident of Grove Street, Buffalo, arrested for harassment, 2nd, after allegedly shoving a Live Nation employee inside the venue.

Steven L. Pufpaff, 18, of Windham Court, Grand Island, arrested for unlawful possession of marijuana after allegedly being found in possession of a bag containing marijuana while in the venue parking lot.

Krista R. Smith, 27, of Cronk Road, Wallkill, arrested for unlawful possession of marijuana after allegedly being found in possession of marijuana while entering the concert venue.

A 17-year-old resident of Ferndale Road, Williamsville, arrested for disorderly conduct after allegedly causing a disturbance in the concert parking lot after the concert ended.

Sabrina T. Ramsey, 46, of Mt. Vernon Road, Snyder, arrested for trespass after allegedly reentering the concert venue after being ejected and told not to return.

Amanda G. Wolfe, 25, of Burke Park, Buffalo, arrested for criminal possession of marijuana, 4th, after allegedly being found in possession of more than two ounces of marijuana. 

Michael P. Stutzman, 27, of Lakewood Avenue, Hamburg, arrested for DWI and driving with a BAC of .08 percent or more after allegedly being involved in an accident in the concert parking lot.

The following people were arrested by the Genesee County Sheriff’s Office during the Chris Stapleton Concert at Darien Lake Performing Arts Center on Saturday:

Nicholas A. Gallo, 27, of Ridge Road, Spencerport, was arrested for unlawful possession of marijuana after allegedly being found in possession of a baggie of marijuana while entering the concert venue.

Joseph J. Proia, 40, of West Creek Drive, Spencerport, arrested criminal trespass, 3rd, and harassment, 2nd, after allegedly reentering the concert venue after having been ejected and told not to return and grabbing a Live Nation employee by the hand and wrist while being ejected.

Dominic M. Brunette, 19, of Little Briggins Circle, Fairport, was arrested for unlawful possession of marijuana after allegedly being found in possession of marijuana while entering the concert venue.

Darien Lake Theme Park Resort — New York’s Coaster Capital — Six Flags announced today that Fright Fest^®, the biggest and scariest Halloween event in the country, is returning to Darien Lake Theme Park Resort this fall featuring Thrills by Day and Fright by Night for five weekends beginning Sept. 28.

“No one does Halloween like Six Flags and we are thrilled to reintroduce this immersive, terrifyingly thrilling event to our guests,” said Park President Chris Thorpe. “Fright Fest is definitely not recommended for children ages 12 or younger. We are turning the scare factor way up for the biggest and scariest Halloween event in the region.”

By day, families with young children can enjoy a trick-or-treat trail, along with other kid-friendly activities. By night, the park transforms from a theme park to a scream park featuring:

• Zombies roaming around every corner;
• New scare zones and haunted mazes;
• Two new haunted houses (additional fee required);
• Thrilling rides and attractions like the all-new Tantrum, Ride of Steel and Mind Eraser experienced in the dark; and
• A new laser light show, Spooktacular, performed on Friday and Saturday nights at 10:30.

Fright Fest runs from 6 –11 p.m. on Fridays; 11 a.m.–11 p.m. on Saturdays and 11 a.m.– 9 p.m. on Sundays from Sept. 28 through Oct. 28. More details about Fright Fest will be announced in the coming weeks.

Adam Michael Brennan Sabadasz, 33, of an undisclosed street, Buffalo, is charged with criminal mischief. Sabadasz allegedly damaged property at Darien Lake Theme Park at 11:20 p.m. Sunday.

Stanley D. Wilson, 58, of Lockport, is charged with DWI and crossing hazard road markings. Wilson was arrested by State Police after his vehicle was found crashed in a ditch on Lewiston Road, Alabama, at 4:41 a.m. Sunday. Wilson reportedly failed a field sobriety test.

Samantha J. Wade, 19, address not disclosed, is charged with leaving the scene of a property damage accident, unsafe tire, and unsafe lane change. Other charges are pending. Wade was reportedly involved in a property damage accident on Route 20, Alexander, where two street signs and a utility pole were struck by a four-door sedan Sunday.

Richard Dean Mckague, 28, of Main Street, Batavia, is charged with criminal contempt, 1st, aggravated family offense, attempted assault, 2nd, and acting in a manner injurious to a child. At 3:19 p.m., Saturday, Mckague allegedly violated an order of protection. He allegedly threw a beer bottle causing physical injury to a victim. He was jailed on $25,000 bail.

Anna L. Demeter, 20, of 35th Court SW, Vero Beach, Fla., arrested for criminal trespass, 3rd, after allegedly reentering the concert venue after being ejected and told not to return. Demeter was arraigned in Darien Town Court and jailed in lieu of $250 bail.

Catherine M. Mulligan, 20, of Everett Street, Kensington, Md., arrested for criminal trespass, 3rd, after allegedly reentering the concert venue after being ejected and told not to return. Mulligan was arraigned in Darien Town Court and jailed in lieu of $250 bail.

Christopher E. Berger, 20, of Farmington Road, Williamsville, arrested for criminal possession of a controlled substance, 7th, after allegedly being found in possession of cocaine.

Noah M. Wheeler, 18, of Bean Hill Road, Honeoye Falls, arrested for criminal trespass, 3rd, and trespass after allegedly reentering the concert venue after being ejected and told not to return multiple times.

Ethan S. Kaiser, 20, of Portage Circle, Fairport, arrested for criminal trespass, 3rd, after allegedly reentering the concert venue after being ejected and told not to return. 

Kelsey L. Fkermedal, 20, of Landmark Drive, Rochester, arrested for trespass after allegedly attempting to enter the concert venue after being ejected and told not to return.

Alyssa R. Dibiase, 22, of Sharon Court, Webster, arrested for DWI and driving with a BAC of .08 percent or more after allegedly operating a motor vehicle in the parking lot while intoxicated. 

Camryn R. Vogt, 19, of Pine View, Walworth, arrested for criminal trespass, 3rd, and criminal Impersonation, 2nd, after allegedly reentering the concert venue after being ejected and told not to return and then providing her sister’s name as identification. Additional charges are pending.

Mark L. Olson, 48, of Kansas Street, San Diego, was arrested for sale of hazardous inhalants after allegedly selling balloons filled with nitrous oxide. Olson was arraigned in Darien Court and jailed in lieu of $250 bail.

Joshua A. Thompson, 23, of Jackson Street, Woodbury, N.J., was arrested for sale of hazardous inhalants after allegedly selling balloons filled with nitrous oxide. Thompson was arraigned in Darien Court and jailed in lieu of $250 bail.

Michael D. Kopyscianski, 33, of Woodycrest Avenue, Bronx, was arrested for criminal possession of a controlled substance, 7th, after allegedly found to be in possession of heroin. Kopyscianski was arraigned in Darien Court and jailed in lieu of $1,000 bail.

Roger J. Furman, 54, of Shaker Hill Road, Enfield, was arrested for criminal trespass, 3rd, after allegedly reentering the concert venue after being ejected and told not to return. Roger was arraigned in Darien Town Court and jailed in lieu of $250 bail.

Alicia M Trace-Stephenson, 42, of Concession 5, West Tiny Township, Ontario, Canada, arrested for criminal trespass,3rd, after allegedly reentering the concert venue after being ejected and told not to return. Alicia was arraigned in Darien Town Court and jailed in lieu of $150 bail.

Charles A. Restivo, 46, of Otto Park Place, Lockport, arrested for trespass after allegedly attempting to reenter the concert venue after being ejected and told not to return.

Matthew T. Gillespy, 30, of Essex Street, New York City, arrested for disorderly conduct after allegedly engaging in a fight in the parking lot.

Jack E. Katzman, 20, Addison Drive, St. Catharines, Ontario, Canada, arrested for criminal mischief, 3rd, and criminal tampering, 3rd, after allegedly damaging a window to a Darien Lake camping trailer with his elbow and then entered a Darien Lake cabin and smeared blood on multiple surfaces. Jack was arraigned in Darien Town Court and jailed in lieu of $500 bail.

John K. Donnell, 19, Gulick Road, Naples, was arrested for harassment, 2nd, after allegedly pushing a Genesee County Sheriff’s Deputy. Donnell was arraigned in Darien Town Court and jailed in lieu of $100 bail.

Donovan M. McCann, 18, Cornell Avenue, Amherst, was arrested for trespass and unlawful possession of marijuana after allegedly attempting to reenter the concert venue after being ejected and told not to return and then was found to be in possession of a quantity of marijuana. McCann was arraigned in Darien Town Court and jailed in lieu of $500 bail.

Gordon H. Nelson, 21, Brookhaven Terrace, Rochester, was arrested for trespass after allegedly attempting to reenter the concert venue after being ejected and told not to return.

Alexander D. Jennings, 18, East River Road, Grand Island arrested for harassment, 2nd, after allegedly striking a Darien Lake medic inside the venue. 

Joshua J. Mase, 26, Farnsworth Avenue, Oakfield, was arrested for criminal trespass, 3rd, after allegedly entering the concert venue after being ejected and told not to return.

Lindsey E. Tomasak, 17, Transit Road, Orchard Park, was arrested for trespass after allegedly attempting to reenter the concert venue after being ejected and told not to return.

Alexis R. Skowron, 19, Hall Road, Elma, was arrested for trespass after allegedly attempting to reenter the concert venue after being ejected and told not to return.

One of the best parts of Chris Thorpe's job, which he readily admits, is getting to preview the rides before they're open to the public.

He's already been on the theme park's newest ride, Tantrum, a dozen times, and he said it really delivers for thrill seekers.

"My favorite part of the ride, as people ask me, is when I rode it for the first time with my daughters, was the look of astonishment on their faces when it was finished," Thorpe said. "The ride is just dynamic and fun."

Tantrum is nearly a $5 million addition to the park's entertainment assets and its seventh coaster overall. The ride includes a beyond-vertical drop that hasn't been available on previous rides at the park.

Tantrum, the first coaster of its kind in New York State and Ontario, Canada, takes riders on a 98-foot vertical lift at a 90-degree angle – straight up the coaster’s first hill. In a matter of seconds, upon reaching its apex, the train plummets into a 97-degree drop and pretzel inversion, reaching speeds of 52 mph as the coaster snakes through the structure over a bunny hop.

The ride is designed to keep riders guessing which way is up or down over a minute and two-seconds through multiple twists, turns and inversions.

Thorpe said Genesee County residents should definitely come out to the park this summer and give the ride a try.

"Darien Lake is going to deliver the best family experience and make memories that will last a lifetime," Thorpe said. "Come on out, give Tantrum a ride. If you’re a thrill seeker, you will see this ride will really deliver."

Paige P. Koumanis, 20, of Hunting Valley South, Clarence, arrested for obstruction, of governmental administration, 2nd, after allegedly interfering with NYS DMV Investigators while they were making an arrest. Koumanis was arraigned in Darien Court and remanded to jail in lieu, of $500 bail.

Michael P. Montgomery, 23, of East Busch Boulevard Tampa, Fla., arrested for criminal trespass, 3rd, after allegedly entering the concert venue without a ticket. Montgomery was arraigned in Darien Court and jailed in lieu of $1,000 bail.

Garrett F. Lewis, 20, of Otisco Valley Road, Marietta, arrested for criminal possession, of a forged Instrument, 2nd, and resisting arrest after allegedly possessing four fake licenses and fighting with NYS DMV Investigators while being arrested. Lewis was arraigned in Darien Court and jailed in lieu of $15,000 bail.

Cory Z. Vasquez, 17, of Murray Street, Fort Erie, Ontario, Canada, arrested for criminal trespass, 3rd, and criminal possession of a weapon, 4th, after allegedly entering the concert venue without a ticket and being found in possession of brass knuckles. Cory was arraigned in Darien Court and jailed in lieu of $750 bail. 

Sierra M. L. Laborgne, 20, of Royal Avenue, Buffalo, arrested for disorderly conduct after allegedly creating a disturbance while she was being investigated for striking two Live Nation employees. Laborgne was arraigned in Darien Court and jailed in lieu of $250 bail.

Tyler J. Holton, 21, of State Route 247, Rushville, arrested for trespass after allegedly reentering the concert venue after having been ejected and told not to return.

Joseph D. Philips, 21, of Roycroft Boulevard, Snyder, arrested for trespass after allegedly reentering the concert venue after having been ejected and told not to return.

Taylor L. Helms, 22, of Goodrich Road, Clarence, arrested for trespass after allegedly reentering the concert venue after having been ejected and told not to return.

Zachary P. Liberatore, 22, of Knob Hill Road, Orchard Park, arrested for criminal trespass, 3rd, after allegedly climbing over the exterior fence to view the concert.

Six Flags Entertainment Corporation (NYSE:SIX), the world’s largest regional theme park company, today announced it has entered into a purchase agreement with affiliates of Premier Parks LLC to acquire the lease rights to operate five parks owned by EPR Properties (NYSE:EPR). The parks have previously been operated by Premier Parks LLC of Oklahoma City.

These latest acquisitions will expand the company’s portfolio of North American parks to 25.​

“Today’s announcement represents another milestone in our strategic North American growth initiative to seek out park acquisitions that expand our addressable market,” said Six Flags Chairman, CEO, and President, Jim Reid-Anderson.

“These are all fantastic properties that complement our existing portfolio and provide tremendous added value and cross-visitation opportunities for our extensive Membership and Season Pass base.”

The parks joining the Six Flags family are:

• Wet 'n’ Wild Splashtown, Houston’s largest waterpark, with more than 48 lush acres and a wide selection of thrilling waterslides and attractions, along with two children’s areas;
• Wet 'n’ Wild Phoenix, the largest waterpark in Arizona (located in the Adobe Dam Recreation Area), featuring 35 acres of high-speed slides and two pools, and also offering a Wet 'n’ Wild Jr. section with kid-friendly versions of some of the park’s most thrilling attractions;
• Darien Lake near Buffalo, NY, a beautiful resort property located on approximately 1,000 acres that includes a theme park, waterpark, campground, hotel, and a 21,000-seat amphitheater;
• Frontier City, an iconic part of the Oklahoma City landscape, is steeped in tradition. The park features a western theme and offers an extensive lineup of exciting rides, attractions, and shows geared to every member of the family; and
• White Water Bay, near Oklahoma's Frontier City, a tropical oasis with more than 25 acres of waterslides, interactive water play areas, and pools.

Six Flags is the largest regional theme park operator in the world and upon closing of the transactions, will be the largest waterpark operator in North America.

With the addition of these five properties that entertained approximately two million guests in 2017, there will be an additional 20 million guests within a 100-mile radius of a Six Flags park, significantly expanding the company’s national footprint.

“We are thrilled to welcome these outstanding properties and employees into our family of parks and look forward to sharing the thrill of Six Flags with guests of all ages in these key markets,” added Reid-Anderson.

Closing of the transactions contemplated by the agreement is expected to occur in June and is subject to customary closing conditions.

Darien Lake showed off its newest roller coaster, Tantrum, on a hard hat tour just prior to the park’s opening day, Saturday, May 5. The nearly $5 million addition will be Darien Lake’s seventh coaster that will take riders on a signature beyond-vertical drop that hasn’t previously been offered to park guests.                                                                               

Tantrum, the first coaster of its kind in New York State and Ontario, Canada, is scheduled to open Memorial Day weekend. When complete, the coaster will embark riders on a 98-foot vertical lift at a 90-degree angle – straight up the coaster’s first hill. In a matter of seconds, upon reaching its apex, the train plummets into a 97-degree drop and pretzel inversion. Reaching speeds of 52 mph, the coaster snakes through the structure over a bunny hop, keeps riders wondering which way is up or down during an Immelmann turn, and finishes with a tilted loop.

“There is more time to ride the new Tantrum roller coaster and establish new family traditions with an extended operating season from May 5 to October 28,” said Darien Lake General Manager Chris Thorpe. “Season Pass holders visiting the park during opening weekend will even receive a bonus free friend ticket!”

Darien Lake Theme Park Resort will extend its operating season to six months for 2018, stretching from opening day on Saturday, May 5 to the conclusion of its new fall event, Jack-o-Lantern Jamboree on Sunday, Oct. 29.

The Jack-o-Lantern Jamboree will kick off Saturday, Sept. 28 for five weekends of pumpkin-themed entertainment including specialty foods, costume contests, a trick-or-treat trail, a pie-eating contest and a brand-new laser light show. In addition, park guests will have the unique opportunity to bring a carved jack-o-lantern to help Darien Lake break the Guinness World Record for most carved pumpkins in a line.

For guests 12 and under, bringing a carved pumpkin will earn them free park admission.

“With an extended operating season, not only is there even more time to ride the new Tantrum roller coaster but establish new family traditions as well,” said Darien Lake General Manager Chris Thorpe.

“Buying a family four pack of season passes to put in the Easter basket not only gets you unlimited park visits, free parking, and bonus friend tickets but a free camping visit as well.”

Back for the sixth year, runners will be color bombed with blue, green, pink, purple, and yellow cornstarch until their face, shirt, and body come out tie-dyed in this family fun 5K. Registration is now open.

The 32nd annual Christian music festival will return with performances by multiple artists and speakers, plus family-friendly activities. Mandisa, for King & Country and Danny Gokey, are just a few of the musical acts slated to perform.

Food trucks, microbrews, live music and fall activities including crafts, pumpkin painting and beer slides will lead us into the extended Halloween season.

Darien Lake Theme Park’s 2018 season will feature two unique, thrilling performers, Magical Entertainer Aaron Radatz and Hypnotist Tammy Barton, as part of the amusement park’s free in-park entertainment lineup.

Dubbed “the magical entertainer to see” by Time Magazine, Radatz started performing at the young age of 6 and quickly turned his grandmother's gift of a magic set into a full-time hobby. Today, Radatz is the newest star to hit the magic entertainment scene. He has studied with many of the masters of magic including Harry Blackstone (Jr.) and recently completed his first 6-month run headlining a casino on the Las Vegas strip. He is also a featured magician on the CW Network’s global sensation TV series “Masters of Illusion.”

Radatz is also the only magician who has been commissioned by the U.S. Pentagon for a command performance for the U.S. military. His dedication to the troops has earned him awards, including such high honors as the Commander’s Coin of Excellence and the Scroll of Appreciation of Honor and Admiration.

Barton has been performing as a professional stage hypnotist since 1993. She began her career working with her parents, both of whom are certified hypno-therapists. She quickly realized that hypnosis performed correctly could be both entertaining and educational at the same time, and could allow her to obtain any goal she set for herself.

In every show, Barton selects willing volunteers from the audience and then puts them into a state of hypnosis. She then guides them though a journey of the mind in which the volunteers act on suggestions she provides. Only the imagination of her volunteers will limit their journey.

Radatz and Barton both performed during the 2012 season and the park is thrilled to welcome them back this year.

Also returning in 2018 is Ignite the Night, Darien Lake’s nightly laser extravaganza. Music, water, fire, video and pyrotechnics all come together for this laser light spectacular in the air, on the stage and all around, which runs beginning in late May through Labor Day Weekend.

Live Nation and Darien Lake Theme Park are thrilled to announce that due to overwhelming demand, concertgoers will once again get free same day Theme Park access with each paid Amphitheater concert ticket in 2018. The wildly popular promotion started in 2017 as part of Darien Lake Amphitheater’s 25^thseason.

This year is already shaping up to be a great one for music fans and thrill seekers alike at Darien Lake. Darien Lake Theme Park will open a new coaster, Tantrum, in May. This latest capital investment is a nearly $5 million addition to the park.

Tantrum riders will embark on a 98-foot vertical lift at a 90-degree angle – straight up the coaster’s first hill. In a matter of seconds, upon reaching its apex, the train plummets into a 97-degree drop and pretzel inversion. Reaching speeds of 52 mph, the coaster snakes through the structure over a bunny hop, keeps riders wondering which way is up or down during an Immelman turn, and finishes with a tilted loop.

Tantrum will be the park’s seventh coaster. Its signature beyond-vertical drop offers a thrilling, unique experience that has not previously been offered to park guests. It’s the first of its kind in New York State and Ontario, Canada.

“This ride confirms our status as New York State’s Coaster Capital and our commitment to providing guests with cutting-edge experiences,” said Chris Thorpe, general manager.

With the announcement of this coaster, Darien Lake has reduced the price of 2018 season passes for the holidays. Currently, season passes are on sale for $59.99, the lowest price of the season.

On top of unlimited visits in 2018, pass holders receive free parking, free and discounted tickets for friends, exclusive pre-sale concert ticket access, lodging deals, and in-park discounts. Additionally, extra free tickets for friends, a 2018 souvenir mug with $1.49 refills and a limited edition Tantrum souvenir will be available to pass holders who purchase and visit before Memorial Day.

Darien Lake management reports that some patrons received minor injuries yesterday on the Silver Bullet ride.

Here's the statement released last night by Chris Thorpe, Darien Lake Theme Park manager:

At approximately 5:12 this evening, in the process of bringing the Silver Bullet to a stop, some guests received injuries, resulting in minor first aid response from the Darien Lake Medical Team. The Silver Bullet, and all of our rides, receive standard daily inspections each morning. After injuries were reported, our safety crews conducted an assessment and confirmed that the ride is operating safely within standard guidelines. Darien Lake will reopen tomorrow at 11 a.m. and the Silver Bullet will be operational.

The following people were arrested by the Genesee County Sheriff’s Office during the Matchbox 20 concert at Darien Lake Performing Arts Center on Monday:

Getchen L. Demeo, 52, of Coachmans Lane, Hamburg, is charged with trespass after allegedly opening an emergency exit and entering the Seagrams viewing deck where she had no right to be.

As summer comes to an end, Darien Lake is preparing for its third annual Harvest Festival by bringing in local performers, food trucks, crafters and more throughout the park amidst the fall foliage.

Harvest Festival will run the last three weekends in September including these dates 16, 17, 23, 24, 30 and Oct. 1, when the park will close for the season. 

Harvest Festival activities that are included with park admission:

• Local Food Trucks including Lloyd’s Taco Truck, Meat the Press and Cheesy Chick
• Stage Entertainment including international bands, local performers and dance groups

Vacations guests will have access to special harvest themed activities on Friday evenings before the Festival including: Magical Pumpkin Forest, in which guests will plant seeds at night and then “harvest” their pumpkins in the morning. There will be fall-themed crafts in the hotel, and the movie “Little Rascals” will play on the lawn at 9 p.m.
