Water main will be shut off today on Center Street

Today, June 21, the City of Batavia Water Department will be shutting down the water main on Center Street for water main repairs. The shutoff will be approximately from East Main Street (Route 5) to School Street.

The length of time the water will be off is unknown.

As always, when the water is restored it may be discolored. Please refrain from doing any laundry until the water runs clear. We apologize for any inconvenience and the public’s patience is greatly appreciated.

City crew to repair leaky water main on Pearl Street tomorrow

The City of Batavia Water Department is going to be repairing a water main leak in front of 142 Pearl St. on Wednesday Jan. 13. Work will begin at 8 a.m. and should be completed by 3 p.m.

The water will be turned off on Pearl Street. from 100 Pearl to the western City line.

Surrounding areas may have reduced pressure and discolored water.

City crews will make every attempt to restore water as soon as possible.

We appreciate your understanding while this repair is being made.

City Water Department to repair water main on Oak Street tomorrow

On Wednesday, Sept. 2, the City of Batavia Water Department will be making repairs to a water main in front of number 23 Oak St.

The street will be open for traffic on Oak Street but lane restrictions and different traffic patterns will be in effect.

For safety, Prospect Avenue and Mix Place will be closed at Oak. There will be no parking permitted in this area on Oak Street while work in taking place.

Water may be turned off in the area; this may produce discolored water. Please refrain from doing laundry if water is discolored.

Work will begin about 8 a.m. and should be completed by 3 o'clock in the afternoon.

City water pressure may be low in some places in wake of water main repair

The City of Batavia Water Department worked to repair a large water main break today on the National Grid right-of-way, south of the Industrial Park.

The work is completed.

While no customers should be without water, some area homes and businesses may experience lower pressure or discolored water.

At noon, they were about to turn the water back on and said it would take a while to fill and for pressure be back to normal.

Water main repairs on North Road in Town of Le Roy resume Monday

Construction of a major 36" diameter water main is occurring along North Road (CR#40) in the Town of Le Roy.

Construction will restart on Monday, Dec. 30th, and will continue for several weeks.

The road will be closed and will only be accessible by local traffic and emergency vehicles during this time. Major delays can be expected.

Complete roadway shutdowns will occur and be communicated as blasting of bedrock and road crossings occur. Alternate routes are suggested.

Water is restored on Pearl Street in the city

Water was restored on Pearl Street in the City of Batavia at approximately 1 p.m.

A water main break on Pearl Street at approximately 5 a.m. resulted in water service interruption in an area between 40 Pearl St. and the City Line.

Crews made repairs and replaced the pipe.
