East Bethany - Sidney C. “Sid” Mulcahy, 88, of East Bethany, passed away Monday, (November 10, 2014) at United Memorial Medical Center, in Batavia following a brief illness.
Mr. Mulcahy was born April 24, 1926 in Stafford, a son of the late Arthur and Berniece (Greening) Mulcahy.
Sid was our father, grandfather, great grandfather, and husband to our mother. He was a total inspiration to us all, and we called him “Hon”. Hon did it all: die cast machinist, farmer, mailman, bus driver, and worked at “Brownies” in East Bethany, as a hauler for septic tanks and vaults. As kids, we loved to take turns riding with him, especially for the hamburgers!
He loved to drive around the neighborhood in his pickup, along with a dog or two, just to see what was going on. Our father did everything his own way and we still respect him.
We love you, we love you now, we love you more tomorrow, and we will love you forever. You are now in Heaven with mom. We love you.
He is the husband of the late Onnalee (Milroy) Mulcahy, who passed away Dec. 26, 2007.
Sid is survived by his children, Marsha (Bob) Schafer of Granville, OH, Linda (Tom) Drumsta of Alexander, Arthur (Pilar Sanchez) Mulcahy of Perry, and James (James Melito) Mulcahy of Gates; grandchildren, Arthur (Joelan) Mulcahy of West Henrietta, and Shelli (Shawn) Shepherd of Granville, OH; Great-grandchildren, Madison and Alexa Mulcahy, and Chase Shepherd. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
He is preceded in death by his sisters, Gloria (late Spencer) Fox and Jeanne Price.
Friends may call on Friday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at H.E. Turner & Co. Funeral Home, 403 East Main Street, Batavia, where Sid’s Funeral Service will immediately follow calling at 1.
