Batavia - Gerald  E. Good, 79  of Batavia,  passed away on Sunday, March 28, 2021 at his home under the care of HomeCare & Hospice surrounded by his loving family and friends.

He was born September 27, 1941 in Batavia, a son of the late Raymond Good and Beatrice Sprague Good.

Jerry worked for many years in the local farming community. He began at MY-T Acres in Oakfield where he worked for seven years. Following his time there he owned and operated a dairy farm in Alexander while working for the New York State Department of Corrections in Attica for 14 years. Following his retirement from Attica Prison he drove tractor trailer for Path Truck Lines in Oakfield where received numerous awards for being a safe driver. He also drove tractor trailer for Del Mar Farms, Inc. in Pembroke and milked cows part time for Baker Brook Dairy in Attica.  A 1959 graduate of Alexander Central School, Jerry was a member of the Alexander United Methodist Church and was a lifetime social member of the Alexander Fire Department. Jerry was very mechanically inclined and enjoyed working on cars. He loved to farm and had a great adoration of animals. His greatest love was his family especially being with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Jerry is the husband of Charlene M. Fohl Good. They were married on April 1, 1967. He is also survived by his children; Darlene (Kevin) Raines of Alexander, Gerald (Diane) Good, Jr. of Batavia, Gary (Donna Geitner) Good of Batavia, Jason (Brenda Zeches) Good of Wyoming, Jeffrey (Deana Hollman) Good of Dunkirk, Sandra Good of Gates, Heather (Michael) Klein of Pavilion and Brenda (Sue Hurlbut) Good of Batavia; sixteen grandchildren; sixteen great-grandchildren; his brothers; Richard (Alice) Good of Hurst, Texas and Larry (Susan) Good of Alexander along with several nieces and nephews.

He is predeceased by his first wife, Marie Marconi Good who passed away on November 9, 1966; his son, John B. Good; grandsons, Jacob, Dustin and Matthew Good and his sisters; Judy Good, Janet Radley and Anita Wight.

Gladys L. Hilchey, 97 of Batavia, passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 28, 2021 at United Memorial Medical Center in Batavia. She was born May 24, 1923 in Pavilion to the late Howard (Minnie Sanders) Youngs. She is preceded in death by her beloved husband Weldon N. Hilchey, sisters Beatrice Chapel and Doris Niebch.

Mrs. Hilchey worked for many years as a beautician. She was a long-time and active member of the First United Methodist Church in Batavia. Mrs. Hilchey enjoyed traveling, fishing trips every summer to Canada, trips to the Casino, doing yardwork and tending to her garden.

Mrs. Hilchey is survived by her children, Michael (Peggy) Hilchey of Batavia, Bonnie (Carl) Hilchey of Franklinville, 5 grandchildren, Geoff (Tara), Eric, Trace, Brett, Kristine (Richard); 10 great-grandchildren, Liah, Ethan, Ella, Tennessee, Hazel, Charlie, Taylor, Kennedie, Veronika and Isabel, along with many nieces and nephews.  

There will be no prior calling hours, services will be held privately for the family. She will be laid to rest in Grand View Cemetery, Batavia.

Maureen Kensinger Hilbert, 83, of Colorado Springs, formerly of Darien Center, passed away Sunday, March 21, 2021.

Maureen was born November 25, 1937, in Buffalo, a daughter of the late Melvin and Augusta Wild Kensinger.  She held various jobs over the years and retired as a medical secretary.  Her greatest joy in life was being a mother and grandmother.

Maureen is preceded in death by her parents; husband, John H. Hilbert; and her brothers, Melvin Kensinger Jr and Kenneth Kensinger.

She is survived by her daughter, Darlene and son-in-law Dan Paterson of Colorado Springs, CO.; two beloved grandsons, Danny and Luke; her sisters-in-law, Kathi Hilbert, Ruth Kensinger, Mary Klino, and Barbara (Donald) Ehrenreich; and several nieces and nephews.

A Memorial Mass and celebration of life will be held at a future date. Local arrangements were made by C. B. Beach & Son Mortuary, Inc., 4 East Main Street, Corfu, NY.

Bonnie Dvoroznak, 76 of West Main Rd., Batavia, passed away Wednesday, March 24, 2021 at Rochester General Hospital.

    

 Bonnie was born June 5, 1944. She was the daughter of the late Evelyn (Frantz) Taggert and the late Lloyd Davis.

     Bonnie was a lifelong resident of Genesee County and a graduate of Pembroke High School. She also earned an Associate’s degree from GCC.

     She worked for many years for the NYS Thruway and many years as a Developmental Aide for the DDSO.

     Bonnie enjoyed spending time with her family, going fishing and out to dinner with her husband, Russ. She also enjoyed reading, cooking and gardening. She was a Master Gardener at the Cooperative Extension.

     Bonnie was a very active member of St. James Episcopal Church, where she was a Eucharist Minister. She worked on the ECW board as a member and president, the Vestry and several other committees.

     Bonnie is survived by her loving husband, Russell Dvoroznak; her 3 daughters; Christine (Brian) Sage of Oakfield, Terri (Jim) Lawson of Batavia and Traci (Pat) Wester of Batavia; her grandchildren, Brian (Karla) Sage Jr., Danielle (Jason) Kirkum, Nickolas Wood, Austin Wester, Zachery Wester and Hailee Wester; her great-grandchildren, Landon, Harper and Emmett Kirkum and Warren Sage, along with several nieces and nephews.

     A Memorial Service will be held April 17 at 10:00 AM at St. James Episcopal Church, 405 East Main Street, Batavia, where there will be a Eucharist Service. She will be laid to rest in the columbarium at St. James Church. Following the service, there will be at luncheon held at the SCHA, located at 8770 Hopkins Road, Batavia.

Carol Ann Acquard, 87, of Corfu, passed away peacefully at her home, Monday, March 22, 2021.

Carol was born on July 23, 1933, a daughter of the late Oscar and Wanda Roll. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Jerome Acquard, her son Thomas Acquard, her grandsons Christopher Acquard and Anthony Moore and her sister Audrey Reiner.

Carol loved The Lord and had many different collections, that when people gave her something, she was so happy to be thought of and remembered. She delighted in being a housewife and mother.

Carol is survived by her daughters, Bonnalee Acquard, Lucinda Acquard, Kathleen Zaccaria and Shelley Acquard Moore; her son John Acquard; her sisters Betty Frey and Elaine Grant; her brother Dan Roll; 10 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren and 5 great great grandchildren.

There will be a double celebration of Carol and Jerome’s life on Saturday, May 29, 2021 at 2 p.m. outside at the family homestead. All family and friends are welcome to come and help celebrate. Arrangements were made by C. B. Beach & Son Mortuary, Inc., 4 East Main Street, Corfu, NY.

James E. Bohn age 67 of Mooresville, NC, died Friday, March 19, 2021. He was a long-time Genesee County Resident and for several years managed ABC Glass in Batavia, before moving to Mooresville, NC, in 1999.

Mr. Bohn was born February 2, 1954, in Tonawanda, the son of the late Elmo and Mary (Cogswell) Bohn. An avid gardener, Jim enjoyed tending his extensive vegetable garden, and was a member of Ducks Unlimited.

Surviving is his wife, Elizabeth (Hasler) Bohn; a son, Scott Henskee; a daughter, Shelby (Norman) Mattie; four brothers, Ronald Bohn, Kevin (Ann) Bohn, Roger (Sandra) Bohn, and John (Colleen) Bohn; two sisters, Barbara Rogers and Virginia Bohn; and a brother-in-law, Joseph Gallo. He is also survived by four grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Besides his parents, Mr. Bohn was predeceased by a sister Kathleen Gallo, a brother Michael Bohn, a brother-in-law Richard Rogers, a sister-in-law Shirley Bohn and his mother-in-law Rose Hasler.

Private services will be held at the convenience of the family.

Eleanor  L. Cortright, "Nellie", of Basom, passed away on her 91st birthday, Monday, March 22, 2021 at United Memorial Medical Center in Batavia.

Eleanor was born March 22, 1930 in Williamsville, a daughter of the late Michael and Charlotte (Werner) Sullivan.

Nellie loved spending time with her family and also camping at Bennington Camp Grounds.  She enjoyed going to the casino and garage sales, playing bingo, reading and watching TV, especially her favorite game shows.

Surviving are her children, Anna (David) Weatherbee of Alabama, John (Kim) Cortright of Batavia, Frank Cortright of Basom and Donna (Duane) Riexinger of Darien Center; brother, John Cortright, Jr. of Batavia; a sister, Bonnie Cortright of Batavia; grandchildren, Sarah and Chuck, Ginger Weatherbee, Derek (Brandy Quillen) Weatherbee, Jesse Cortright, Luke Cortright, Tara (Sam) Reynolds, Michael Walsh, Brianna ("Ox") Oxencis and Matthew (Tess) Walsh, 15 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by her husband, William W. Cortright, "Bill"; sons, Bill Cortright, Jr., Tom Cortright and Bob Cortright and her brothers and sisters.

A Celebration of Life will be held in the later spring time and she will be laid to rest with her late husband in Alabama Cemetery.

  Christopher D. Plath, 58 of Batavia, passed away on Friday, March 19, 2021 at Unity Hospital in Rochester. He was born on May 22, 1962 in Batavia to the late David (Nancy Decker) Plath.

Chris was a proud United States Air Force Veteran. He was an avid golfer and loved spending time with his family.

Chris is survived by his beloved wife Joann (Wojnowski) Plath, sons Christopher (Melissa), David (Shannon) and Daniel Plath all of Batavia, brother Jeff Plath of NC, sister Stacy (Chris) Mullen of Batavia, grandchildren Ryan, Julia, Isaiah, Aubree, Sophia Plath along with several nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of his Life will be held on Saturday, March 27, 2021 from 5 to 8 PM at Cornerstone Church, 8020 Bank Street Road, Batavia, NY 14020.

Mrs. Ellen Jakobine Brown Hall, age 75, of Douglasville, Ga., passed away Thursday, March 18, 2021.

She was born January 18, 1946 in Batavia, NY, the daughter of the late Mr. Christian Jensen Brown and the late Mrs. Albertine Elizabeth Worden Brown. 

Mrs. Hall worked as a Registered Nurse at The VA Hospital for many years.

She loved to travel, gardening, boating, reading and all kinds of birds. She loved being outdoors!

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her brother, Eric Brown.

Mrs. Hall is survived by her husband of 54 years, Mr. Tommy Lee Hall of Douglasville, Ga.; sister, Catharine Graybeal, of Douglasville, Ga.; several nieces and nephews also survive.

According to Mrs. Hall’s wishes, she will be cremated. No services are scheduled at this time.

Jeffrey was born March 16, 1958 in Warsaw, New York to the late Harold Bruce and Vivian McCracken. He leaves behind two children; daughter, Michelle (Chad) Oberther and a son, Joshua Bruce; their mother Mary (David Lane) Resch Bruce; a significant other, Maureen Corey; brothers, Harold Russell (Josie) Bruce, the late Richard Bruce, Terrence Bruce and Andrew (Rhonda) Bruce; sisters, Linda (Bill) Leathersich, Helen Gibson, Suzanne (James) McCullough and Robin (William Stollhans) Good; grandchildren, Alexander (LJ) Rotoli, Skye (Dylan) Rotoli, Jenna Rotoli, Levi Oberther, Brayden Turturro and Earl Oberther along with cousins, nieces, nephews and countless friends.

Jeff left an indelible mark on all who knew him including the many he worked with at Chili Plastics, Norden Inc. and Ontario Plastics. He enjoyed long rides on his motorcycle (especially if it was to go see a good rock concert), vacations to Virginia Beach, spending time with his family and friends and showing love to his furry friend Rosie.

Family and friends would describe him as a hardworking, caring, generous and loving man who had an infectious laugh and knew how to have a good time. He also enjoyed jam bands like Government Mule and The Grateful Dead, collecting eagle figurines and lots of classic rock concert recordings.

He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

Friends and family can pay their respects on Wednesday, March 24, 2021 at H.E. Turner & Co. Funeral Home, 403 East Main Street, Batavia, New York 14020 between the hours of 4 pm and 7 pm. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, March 25, 2021 at 10 am at the funeral home followed by internment at Batavia Cemetery. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, indoor funeral services will be limited in capacity to immediate family and close friends (approximately 60 people).   Brian F. Stacy, born on April 19, 1948, passed away at the age of 72 on March 18, 2021 from a battle with cancer. He was predeceased by his father; Ralph Stacy; mother Marion (Wilcox) Stacy; brother David Stacy and sister Lorelei (Stacy) Steinberg.

Brian is survived by his wife of 36 years; Gail A. (Barnes) Stacy; step daughter Deborah L. Green. He is also survived by his nephews Matthew (Anne) Steinberg and Ryan Steinberg.

He graduated from Pembroke High School in 1966. Brian served in the US Army from 1968-1971. He worked with his father at his garage in East Pembroke for many years, and was an Auto Mechanic working in the auto industry for most of his life, starting at his dads shop. Brian was a volunteer fireman in the East Pembroke Fire Department in the 1960’s and belonged to the Sportsman’s Coonhunters Association of Genesee County for many years and he loved NASCAR racing.

There will be no prior calling hours. A 10:30AM Graveside Service will be held on Saturday April 17, 2021 at Hillside Cemetery on Angling Rd. in Corfu where Brian will be laid to rest.

Batavia - Mary Hart Kelly, 91 of Batavia, passed away on Wednesday, (March 10, 2021) at LeRoy Village Green Residential Health Care Facility in LeRoy.

Ms. Kelly was born August 29, 1929 in Tionesta, Forest County, Pennsylvania, a daughter of the late Bernard Matthew Kelly and Katherine (Hart) Kelly.

In 1933 her family moved back to B.M. Kelly’s hometown, Ellicottville, New York.  Mary attended Ellicottville High School, graduating in 1947.  She attended Villa Maria College (now part of Gannon University) graduating with a BS in Education in 1951. She taught Home Economics in Ripley,  Ellicottville, and Batavia, New York, where she retired in 1984. She spent most summers traveling the world, while taking advanced courses in Spanish, History and English Literature.  

She was an avid skier, into her early 80’s, having learned while in high school, on Greer Hill in Ellicottville.  Her home in the Batavia area was in Seven Springs Country Club. She was instrumental in starting the family camp on Brennan Road, Ellicottville.  For many years she spent her winters on the QEII and the new Queen Mary, on trips to New Zealand, Australia, Indonesia, India, Dubai, and South Africa.

While at home she enjoyed life with her beloved Labradors, family and friends. Mary was an avid quilter, and soft toy maker.  Many people still cherish her sewn goods.

She attended church at St. Joseph’s in Batavia and Holy Name of Mary parish in Ellicottville.

She is survived by her younger brother Joseph B. Kelly, nieces and nephews; Mark (Catherine) Kelly, Joan (Doug) Pike, Beth (John) Cotton, Brian (Terry) Kelly, Sara Kelly, Kathy Blackford, Sean (Karen) Kelly, and Aileen (Mark) Smith plus 12 great nieces and nephews and 4 grand nieces and nephews.

Mary is Preceded in death by her older brother Bernard M Kelly, Jr.

Mary's Visitation and Mass of Christian Burial will be held in June at Holy Name of Mary in Ellicottville with date and time to be announced. Burial will be in Holy Cross Cemetery in Ellicottville.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Holy Name of Mary Church in Ellicottville.

Corinne L. Stedman- Lynch, age 62, of Perry passed away on Wednesday March 17th at home surrounded by loved ones. She was born in Warsaw, NY on September 2, 1958 a daughter to the late Lloyd D. and Cora M. (Flint) Stedman.

Corinne was a 1976 graduate of York Central School and attended the Nursing Program through Genesee Community College. She worked for Health and Wellness from 1986-1988, Finger Lakes DDSO where she was a developmental assistant from 1988-2001 and was a Coordinator for Def-Tac Systems in Abbottstown, PA. from 2005-2011. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ and Latter Day Saints in Geneseo. She enjoyed painting, baking, doing arts and crafts and especially enjoyed taking care of her family.

She is survived by 3 daughters: Bridget L. (Mark) Givens of Perry, Tammy S. Davis of Perry and Melissa (Kris) Kelly of TN, Son: Gavin R. Lynch of Perry, 2 sister: Deborah Hinson of TN, Sandra Siegel of FL., brother: Roger Stedman of FL. 10 grandchildren, along with many nieces and nephews.

Family and friends may call from 4-6pm on Thursday March 25th at the Church of Jesus Christ and Later Day Saints 42 E South St. Geneseo, NY 14454 where services will follow at 6pm. Corinne will be laid to rest in Leicester Cemetery on Friday March 26, 2021 at 10:00 AM.

Aloysius Kilanski, 68, of Perry, passed away on Saturday, March 13, 2021 at Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester. He was born August 16, 1952 in Warsaw to the late Zigmund (Zofie Weicorek) Kilanski. He is preceded in death by sister Karola Trevino and brother John Kilanski.  

Mr. Kilanski worked for years at Creative Foods in Perry. He was an avid outdoorsman that enjoyed fishing, guns and race cars. Music was a huge part of his life; he loved guitars, setting up for bands and doing the sound for shows. He loved his family above all else, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

He is survived by his loving daughters, Diane Kilanski of Victor, Sheryl Kilanski of Batavia, Leah (Paul) Parker of Hot Springs, Arkansas, son-in-law John Frank of Batavia, 5 grandchildren, Joseph Consiglio, Amber Turner, Jarrod (Shawnna Steiner) Grimmelt, Justin Grimmelt, Jason Mark Redfield Jr., 6 great-grandchildren, Elise, Michael, Hayden, Sonny, Merik and Jackson, along with several nieces and nephews.
