It has been quite a week for Notre Dame senior Alec Covel.
On Thursday he signed to play for Division II Mansfield University, and the very next day, he pitched the Fighting Irish past Arkport 11-5 to win the Class DD Section V Championship.

Sometimes in sports a star player can get rolling and it’s hard to stop him.
That’s what happened as Alec Covel started off hot on the mound and never looked back as Notre Dame blanked Fillmore 5-0 in the Class DD quarterfinals at Dwyer Stadium.

In addition to her parents, Millie is predeceased by her loving husband Calogero “Charlie” Pilato who passed away in 1988; a sister Giovanna Tutino; brothers in law Guiseppe Coco and Frank Pilato; sisters in law Rosina DiSalvo and Josephine Coco.
Millie enjoyed cooking and baking many Italian specialties, especially “Millie’s” Pizza and Ossi di Morte cookies. She was a seamstress for Alexanders Department Store in Batavia and her passion for sewing began in Italy where she was trained. Millie was known for her love of God in her life, those that loved her knew they would always be fed and prayed for. She was member of St. Anthony’s Church, Notre Dame Prayer Group, St. Joseph’s Table, the Alter and Rosary Society, St. Nick’s Club along with St. Michael’s Society.
She is survived by her three daughters; Paula (Thomas) Pilato Mullen of Virginia Beach, Anna Pilato of Fairfax, VA and Josette Pilato of Batavia; brothers Franceso DiSalvo of Penfield and Antonino DiSalvo of Italy; brother in law Alfonso Tutino of Italy, sister in law Antonina Pilato of Fairport, brother and sister in law Dr. Philip and Frances Pilato of Camp Hill, PA; her beloved granddaughter Katherine Elizabeth Mullen of VA along with many nieces And nephews.
Family and friends are invited to call on Monday February 8, 2016 from 3:00PM-7:00PM at Gilmartin Funeral Home & Cremation Company, Inc. 329-333 West Main Street Batavia, New York 14020. A 9:30AM Mass of Christian Burial will be held Tuesday February 9, 2016 at Resurrection Parish (St. Mary’s) 18 Ellicott St. Batavia, NY 14020. She will be entombed in St. Joseph’s Mausoleum in Batavia.

A company with roots in New York, but currently based in Connecticut, is looking to build a plant at the Genesee Valley Agri-Business Park that would convert food industry waste into heat and electricity.

Heather was born September 15, 1967 in Rochester, a daughter of the late Harold Coufal and Marian Adams Wilson.
She will be remembered as a loving and compassionate person, with a “firecracker” personality at times.
She is survived by her loving mother and step-dad, Marian (Thomas N.) Wilson, with whom she resided, her children, Brian Bisig of Freedom, Rachael Mullen of Grinnel, Iowa and Morgan Jackson of Pavilion; grandchildren, James and Brooke; siblings, Wesley Coufal of Pavilion, Melissa Coufal of Buffalo, Rebecca (James) Robinson of Warsaw and Timothy (Lisa Taylor) Ruffin of Bergen; an uncle, Alan Adams of Las Vegas; special nephew caregivers, Andre, Jason, Joshua, Noah and Riley, along with many other nieces and nephews.
The family would like to express their deepest appreciation to all the caregivers that have assisted with Heather’s care over the years.
Family and friends may call on Sunday from 2 ~ 4 PM at the Falcone Family Funeral & Cremation Service Inc., 8700 Lake Rd. (Rt 19), LeRoy, where services will be held at 4 PM.
