Batavia - Mary F. Mullen, 98, died Saturday, December 19, 2015 at the Genesee County Nursing Home.
Mrs. Mullen was born November 19, 1917 in Batavia, the daughter of the late Henry and Sophia (Tetz) Tandlmayer.
A member of Resurrection Parish (St. Joseph’s Church) for many years she, her late husband and their families provided the chairmanship of the Cadillac Raffle at the Church’s annual lawn fete. Mrs. Mullen also belonged to the Home School Associations of St. Joseph’s School and Notre Dame High School and was lifetime member of the Batavia Lioness Club.
She was the wife the late Robert W. Mullen who died in 1993 and sister of the late Herbert Tandlmayer.
Survivors include three sons; Robert (Laura) Mullen of Batavia, Richard (June) Mullen of Byron and William (Joyce) Mullen of Brockport; two daughters, Mary Anne Mullen of Batavia and Ann Marie (late Dr. S. Paul) Dhanda of East Bethany. Also surviving are 8 grandchildren, several great and great greatgrandchildren and nieces and nephews.
Friends may call on Tuesday, December 22, 2015 from 4 to 8 p.m. at the H.E. Turner & Co. Funeral Home, 403 E. Main St., Batavia. Her Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday, 9:30 a.m. at Resurrection Parish - St. Joseph Church, 303 E. Main St. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Joseph’s School, 2 Summit St. Batavia, NY 14020, Notre Dame High School, 73 Union St., Batavia, NY 14020 or the Sisters of Mercy, 625 Abbott Rd. In 2019, The Msgr. Kirby Knights of Columbus Council 325 graciously offered to start a yearly scholarship fund to celebrate and recognize some of St. Joseph Regional School's students. The recipients are nominated by the school staff and the awards are presented at the End of the Year Awards Ceremony.

Batavia - Norlene A. Fazio, 79, of Batavia was an active person who was dedicated to her family, passed away on Tuesday, June 2, 2015 at United Memorial Medical Center.
Mrs. Fazio was born March 27, 1936 in Elba, a daughter of the late Benjamin and Ogreta Frens Boyce.
Her husband, William F. Fazio, Jr., passed away on August 26, 2012.
She is survived by her children, Crystal (Stephen Mullen) Hawley of Batavia, Michael (Kim Saxton) Fazio of Bergen and Bonnie (Lynn) Shuknecht of Elba; five grandsons, Daniel (Linda) Rimmer of Pittsford, Tim (Anne) Rimmer of Rochester, Alexander (Kate) Shuknecht of Elba, Eric (Kayla) Shuknecht of Elba and Adam Shuknecht of DeWitt, Michigan; and four great-grandchildren, Reagan and Carter Rimmer and Avery and Jacob Shuknecht.

There just isn't enough room in the Genesee Valley Ag Park on the east side of the Town of Batavia for a project as large as the Fairlife plant announced today in Monroe County.
The 745,000-square-foot facility will be built by Coca-Cola and create an estimated 250 jobs in the Town of Webster. The company is expected to invest $650 million in the project.
A long-discussed plan to build a biogas plant in the Genesee Valley Agri-business Park in the Town of Batavia is again moving forward with the recommended approval on Thursday of a height variance for a storage tank on the property.
CH4 Biogas of Covington, operating the business name Genesee Biogas for the project, first proposed the plant in 2014.
Sara Gilbert, of Pinewood Engineering, asked the board to Genesee County Planning Board on Thursday to recommend approval for the company to build a digester storage tank taller than allowed by zoning code. The biogas plant seeks approval for an 83.5-foot tall digester tank.
