Kerwin Eric Ransom, 58, of Genesee Street, Pembroke, is charged with endangering the welfare of a child and harassment 2nd. Ransom is accused of pushing a pre-teen child. He was arraigned in Town of Pembroke Court, issued an order of protection, and released.

Tina Marie Baase, 59, of Hamlin, is charged with DWI, driving with a BAC of .18 or greater, and moving from lane unsafely. Baase was stopped at 9:34 p.m., March 26, on Route 98 in Batavia, by Deputy Jeremiah Gechell. Baase allegedly failed a field sobriety test. She was issued an appearance ticket.

Jessica Jean Easton, 38, of Easton Road, Esperance, is charged with DWI and driving with a BAC of.18 or greater. Easton was stopped at 8:50 p.m., March 26, on Gillate Road, Alexander, by Deputy Morgan Ewart. Easton was released on an appearance ticket.

Sierra Nicole Biegasiewicz, 31, of Ross Street, Batavia, is charged with petit larceny. Biegasiewicz is accused of shoplifting at Walmart. She was released on an appearance ticket.

Batavia PD is responding to Tully's for a report of an intoxicated male causing a ruckus. 

He was reportedly throwing tables and chairs around in the restaurant.

When police arrived, he was reportedly in a vehicle about to leave.  An officer is with him now.

Nancy L. Lawrence, 69, of Batavia, is charged with soliciting alms on a public street or public place. Lawrence is accused of soliciting alms in the parking lot of a business on Ellicott Street at 12:30 p.m., March 18.  She was issued an appearance ticket.

Kiha McNear

Kiha S. McNear, 24, of Batavia, is charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance 3rd. McNear was arrested following an investigation that began with a traffic stop by a Batavia patrol officer at 4:18 a.m., March 17. McNear was allegedly found in possession of an illegal substance. McNear was arraigned in City Court and ordered held without bail.

Adam E. Bortle, 38, of Wayland, was arrested on a warrant. He was arraigned and released.

NaQuan J. Shepard, 22, of Batavia, is charged with harassment 2nd. Shepard was allegedly involved in a disturbance in an apartment complex on North Spruce Street, Batavia, at 11:22 p.m., March 23.  Shepard is accused of throwing a cardboard box at another person. Shepard was issued an appearance ticket.

Curtis Williams, 55, of Batavia, is charged with grand larceny 4th. Williams is accused of stealing more than $1,000 from his employer on Ellicott Avenue over a period of time. He was issued an appearance ticket.

Erik R. Motquin, 29, of Batavia, is charged with petit larceny. Motquin is accused of trying to leave a store on West Main Street, Batavia, with $316.03 in merchandise without paying for it. He was issued an appearance ticket.

Joshua Leneir, 35, of West State Street, Albion, is charged with criminal contempt 2nd. Leneir is accused of violating a complete stay-away order at 3:36 p.m., March 17, at a location on Lent Avenue, Le Roy. He was ordered to appear in Town of Le Roy Court on April 5.

Garrett Berntsen, 25, of Stewart Street, Rochester, was arrested on a warrant in Rochester and brought before the Town of Le Roy Court to answer to charges of criminal possession of a firearm and criminal possession of the stolen property. He was released under supervision. 

Kasondra Lynn Hubbard, 36, of Myrtle Street, Le Roy, is charged with endangering the welfare of a child. Hubbard is accused of endangering the welfare of a child during a disturbance at a residence on Myrtle Street, Le Roy, at 8:11 p.m., March 24. Hubbard was ordered to appear in Town of Le Roy Court on April 21.

Earl Benson, 33, of Lyan Road, Byron, is charged with DWI, unlicensed operation, aggravated unlicensed operation, no distinctive plate, consumption of alcohol in a motor vehicle, and refusal to submit to a breath test. Benson was stopped at 9:23 p.m., March 25, on Bank Street, Le Roy, by Officer John Ceneviva. He was issued traffic tickets.

Francesca G. Pieter, 21, of Batavia, is charged with petit larceny. Peter is accused of stealing something at 4:23 p.m., March 27, at a location in the Town of Batavia. An 18-year-old from Batavia whose name was not released was also arrested. Both suspects were issued appearance tickets. The State Police did not release additional information.

Melvin A. Huntley is indicted on four counts of sexual abuse in the first degree, a Class D violent felony, two counts of rape in the first degree, a Class Class B violent felony, four counts of rape in the third degree, a Class E felony, one count of endangering the welfare of a child, a Class A misdemeanor, three counts of predatory sexual assault against a child,a Class A-II felony, four counts of course of sexual conduct against a child in the second degree, a Class D felony, three counts of sexual abuse in the first degree, a Class D violent felony, a count of rape in the second degree, a Class E felony, and three counts of sexual abuse in the first degree, a Class D violent felony. Huntley is accused of sexual contact by force twice in the summer of 2015. He is accused of sexual contact with another person by force in the winter of 2016. He is accused of sexual contact with another person by force in the summer of 2017.  He is accused of sexual intercourse with another person by force in the summer of 2017.  He is accused of sexual intercourse with another person by force in the summer of 2016.  He is accused of sexual intercourse twice, while being 21 or older, with a person less than 17 years old in the winter of 2016.  He is accused of acting in a way injurious to a child in the winter of 2016. He is accused of engaging in sexual intercourse with another person less than 13 years old by force in or about the year 2001. He is accused of being 18 years or older and committing rape in the first degree by engaging in sexual intercourse with a person less than 13 years old in or about the year 2012 through 2021. He is accused of engaging in two or more acts of sexual conduct, including at least one act of sexual intercourse, oral sexual contact, or anal sexual conduct, with a child less than 13 years old in the summer of 2013 through July of 2021. He is accused of sexual contact with another person less than 11 years old in the summer of 2013 and in September 2015.  He is accused of engaging in sexual intercourse, being 18 years old or older, with a person less than 15 years old, in June 2021. He is accused of sexual intercourse, being 18 or older, with a person less than 17 years old in June 2021. He is accused of subjecting a person less than 11 years old to sexual contact in June 2019 and in the summer of 2019 and in December 2020. He is accused of engaging in sexual intercourse with a person incapable of consent in June 2021.

Brennan M. Dean is indicted on a count of assault in the second degree, a Class D violent felony. Dean is accused of assaulting a Genesee County Jail corrections officer, contrary to penal law while being convicted of a crime and being incarcerated at a correction facility. 

Arthur J. Brown is indicted on a count of grand larceny in the fourth degree, a Class E felony. Brown is accused of stealing a debit card on Aug. 11 in the Town of Le Roy.

Wade J. Murray is indicted on counts of unlawful imprisonment in the first degree, a Class E felony, strangulation in the second degree, a Class D violent felony, assault in the second degree, a Class D violent felony, and attempted assault in the second degree, a Class E felony.  Murray is accused of restraining a person in a manner that could cause serious injury on July 12 in the Town of Oakfield. He is accused of applying pressure to another person's neck with the intent to impede breathing or circulation of blood. He is accused of causing serious injury to another person with a dangerous instrument, a boot. He is accused of intending to cause serious physical injury to another person.

Carlos Diaz, 21, of South Main Street, Batavia, is charged with DWI, driving with a BAC of .08 or greater, and speeding.  Diaz was stopped at 2:10 a.m., March 25, on Route 33, Bergen by Sgt. Mathew Clor.  He was allegedly driving 101 mph in a 55 mph zone.  He was released on traffic tickets.

Arnold Keith Shaffer, 55, of Orange Grove Drive, Batavia, is charged with petit larceny. Shaffer is accused of stealing several items from Walmart at 4:36 p.m., March 23.  He was issued an appearance ticket.

Michael Alan Jones, 24, of Welford Road, Charlotte, N.C., is charged with criminal possession of an assault weapon 3rd, criminal possession of a weapon 3rd (ammunition feeding device), unsafe turn, number plate violation, driving an unregistered vehicle on a highway. During a traffic stop at 4:36 p.m., March 19, on School Road, Le Roy, by Deputy Kenneth Quackenbush, Jones was allegedly found in possession of an AR-15 rifle. He was arraigned in Town of Le Roy Court. He is scheduled to appear again on April 21.  Deputy Nicholas Charmoun assisted in the investigation.

Krystle Denise Sanders, 37, of East Avenue, Batavia, is charged with petit larceny.  Sanders is accused of shoplifting from Walmart at 10:43 a.m., March 18.  She was released on an appearance ticket.

Katherine Frances Foels, 36, of Elm Street, Attica, is charged with petit larceny. Foels is accused of shoplifting from a store on Veterans Memorial Drive in Batavia. The name and address of the store were withheld from the press release. Foels was released on an appearance ticket.

Adam Eugene Bortle, 38, of Lackawanna Street, Wayland, is charged with promoting prison contraband and three counts of criminal possession of a controlled substance. Bortle was transported to the Genesee County Jail after being arrested on a warrant. He reportedly denied possessing any narcotics or other contraband.  He was allegedly found in possession of controlled substances during a search.  He was held until arraignment at a later date.

Ryan Thomas O'Connor, 37, of Center Street, East Aurora, is charged with DWI, driving left of pavement markings, and moving from lane unsafely.  O'Connor was stopped on Route 77 in Pembroke at 10:59 p.m., March 19, by Deputy Trevor Sherwood. He was issued an appearance ticket.

Anthony Daniel Micucci, 27, of Darien Alexander Townline Road, Alexander, is charged with escape 2nd.  Micucci was reportedly arrested on a warrant and while entering Town of Pembroke Court at 3:45 p.m, March 12, Micucci allegedly escaped from custody by running from law enforcement. He was taken into custody by Deputy Kevin McCarthy after a foot pursuit. He is also charged with three counts of criminal contempt 1st for allegedly violating an order of protection by calling the protected party in a complete stay-away order.  He was issued an appearance ticket.

David Michael Martin, 61, of West 6th Avenue, San Manuel, Arizona, is charged with bail jumping second.  Martin was arrested in Arizona and extradited to New York after allegedly failing to appear in Genesee County Court on a grand larceny 3rd charge.  He was arraigned in County Court and ordered held on $5,000 bail.

Sean G. Johnston, no age or residence provided, is charged with assault 3rd. Johnston was charged following an investigation by Le Roy PD into a disturbance at an apartment building in the Village of Le Roy.  No date or time for the disturbance provided. Johnson was issued an appearance ticket.

Cyle Hindle, no age or residence provided, is charged with felony DWI, aggravated unlicensed operation 1st, and driving with unsafe tires. Hindle was stopped by Le Roy PD at a time and date and location not specified in the release. He was issued an appearance ticket.

Brian M. Raphael, 33, of Batavia, is c charged with petit larceny. Raphael is accused of taking a package delivered by Amazon from the porch of a residence on Summit Street on March 11 at 12:01 p.m. Raphael was allegedly found with the package by Batavia PD after the resident was notified by Amazon that the package had been delivered.  He was issued an appearance ticket.

Brooke M. Davis, 29, of Medina, was arrested on a warrant. Davis is accused of failing to appear for a court appearance in the Town of Batavia. Davis was arraigned in Town of Batavia Court and released on her own recognizance.

Leroy M. Stafford, 41, of Basom, is charged with felony DWI, aggravated unlicensed operation 1st, and driving without an interlock device. Stafford was stopped by State Police at 8:54 p.m., March 20, in the City of Niagara Falls. He was released on an appearance ticket.

Steven A. Wasielewski, 38, of Pembroke, is charged with criminal obstruction of breathing. Wasielewski was arrested by State Police in connection with an incident reported at 12:21 p.m., March 20, in the Town of Pembroke. He was released on an appearance ticket. No further information released.

With notifications made to family members, the Sheriff's Office has released the names of two men stabbed to death on March 11 in a bunkhouse on a dairy farm in Alexander.

Their names are

Elibander Morales, 30.  He is also known as Elibander Morales Velazquez, Elibander Ivan Cruz, and Ivan Cruz.  

Marceleno Gomez Hernandez, 29. He is also known as Marcelino Gomez Hernandez.

Both were pronounced dead at the scene by a Genesee County Coroner.

Both were born in Mexico and had been employed and living in the U.S. for an unspecified period of time.

Taken into custody and charged with murder were  Raul Cruz, 18, of Warsaw, and Prince N.K. Wilson, 23, of Albion.

The men are accused of stabbing and killing two men at a dairy farm at 10216 Alexander Road, Alexander.

The investigation is ongoing.

Anthony Daniel Micucci, 27, of Darien Alexander Townline Road, Alexander, is charged with five counts of criminal contempt 1st, criminal contempt 2nd, stalking 3rd, and stalking 4th. Micucci was arrested on a warrant for allegedly violating a complete stay-away order of protection. Micucci was also arrested by State Police on charges of stalking 3rd and two counts of criminal contempt 2nd.  He was jailed without bail.

Matthew Scott Williams, 34, of Hundredmark Road, Elba, is charged with harassment 2nd and endangering the welfare of a child. Williams is accused of head butting a person while in the presence of a child during a disturbance reported at 9:15 a.m., March 10, at a residence on Hundredmark Road, Elba

Michael Joseph Elmore, 31, of Washington Avenue, Batavia, is charged with obstructing governmental administration. Elmore allegedly refused to obey lawful orders by deputies during an investigation at Days Inn in Batavia at 4:45 a.m., March 13.

Michael Andrew Kos, Jr., 43, of Hampton Brook Drive, Hamburg, is charged with DWI and driving with a BAC of .08 or greater.  At 8:25 p.m., March 10, Deputy Nicholas Charmoun and Sgt. Andrew Hale were dispatched to the Kwik Fill on West Main Street Road, Le Roy, for a report of a suspicious condition behind the building. At that location, they located Kos and upon investigation determined he was allegedly too intoxicated to operate a motor vehicle. He was transported to the Genesee County Jail for processing and issued an appearance ticket.

Lauralee Pacer, 36, of Batavia, was arrested on a warrant for failure to appear.  Pacer had previously been issued an appearance ticket. 

Shante R. Williams, 38, of Batavia, is charged with bail jumping 3rd. Williams was arraigned in City Court and released under supervision.

James D. Hooten, 33, of Batavia, and Brittanee J. Hooten, 33, of Batavia, are charged with petit larceny and conspiracy 6th. James and Brittanee are accused of shoplifting from the Kiwk Fill at 99 Jackson Street, Batavia. They were issued appearance tickets.

Shawn M. Twardowski, 39, of Le Roy, was arrested on multiple warrants for failure to appear for trespass and petit larceny.  Twardowski was arraigned in City Court and released under supervision.

Lyndsay T. Young, 38, of Batavia, is charged with harassment 2nd. Young is accused of striking another person in the face causing a scratch under the person's eye at 2:34 p.m., March 4, at a location on State Street, Batavia. Young was issued an appearance ticket.

Jolene Y. Stevens, 33, of Batavia, was arrested on a warrant for failure to appear. Stevens was arraigned in city court and released on her own recognizance. 

Rufus G. Johnson, 28, of North-Chili, is charged with petit larceny. Johnson is accused of stealing merchandise from a business in Batavia. He was allegedly located with the merchandise and arrested. He was issued an appearance ticket.

Matthew S. Williams, 34, of Elba, is charged with unauthorized use of a motor vehicle and criminal contempt 2nd. Williams was arrested by State Police in connection with an incident reported at 1:03 p.m., March 11, in Elba.  His release status is unknown.  No further information released.

Prince Wilson Raul Cruz

Two men from outside Genesee County are in custody and charged with murder in the second degree in the double homicide in Alexander on Friday night.

The suspects are Raul Cruz, 18, of Warsaw, and Prince N.K. Wilson, 23, of Albion.

The men are accused of stabbing and killing two men in a bunkhouse at a dairy farm at 10216 Alexander Road, Alexander.

The names of the victims have not been released pending notification of next-of-kin.

Both Cruz and Wilson are being held without bail.

Wilson was located in Batavia a short time after the incident and taken into custody.

Cruz was the subject of a manhunt in Warsaw on Saturday and located in the afternoon in the Warsaw area.

The incident began at 9:59 p.m., Friday, when dispatchers received a report of a disturbance in the bunkhouse at the dairy farm.  A short time later, after deputies responded, smoke was seen coming from the bunkhouse and Alexander Fire was dispatched. The fire was quickly extinguished.  The Sheriff's Office release states the fire was set but doesn't clarify whether it was set for heat/cooking or another reason.

The Sheriff's Office reports that the two victims were found dead inside the dwelling upon arrival of patrols. 

Investigators believe this was an isolated incident and there was no threat to public safety. 

This is an ongoing investigation. Assisting are State Police, Warsaw PD, the Wyoming County Sheriff's Office, Albion PD, the Orleans County Sheriff's Office, and DEC. Assisting at the scene were Emergency Management and Alexander Fire.

Sheriff's investigators are in the early stages of a homicide investigation at 10216 Alexander Road, Alexander, according to Chief Deputy Joseph Graff.

Late tonight, deputies responded to the Blumer Dairy Farm for a report of a disturbance. At about 10:20 p.m., Alexander Fire was dispatched for smoke coming from an employee bunkhouse and dispatchers informed responding units that the fire could be related to the disturbance. They were also informed that a person may have been stabbed at that location.

Graff declined to discuss the incident further while at the scene and said there will be a press release at some point with more information.

The bunkhouse is at the back of the farm property.

UPDATE: This is a double homicide, according to a statement from the Sheriff's Office.  The statement says this was an isolated incident and there is no threat to public safety. There was no further information released.

Kevin Wolff

A senior corrections officer at the Genesee County Jail has been arrested and terminated after being accused of stealing more than $50,000 from the Sheriff's Employee Association.

Kevin D. Wolff, 51, of Stafford, is charged with grand larceny 2nd, a Class C felony.

Wolff worked for the Sheriff's Office for more than 20 years.

The association membership consists of corrections officers, emergency dispatchers, dog control officers, and jail cooks.

Wolff was arraigned in City Court today and released on his own recognizance.

The investigation into the alleged theft is being conducted by the Sheriff's criminal investigation division and is ongoing.

Daniel James Loster, 38, of Lake Street, Le Roy, is charged with obstructing governmental administration, resisting arrest, criminal possession of a weapon 3rd, and menacing 3rd. Le Roy patrol officers received a complaint at 6:55 a.m. on March 4 of a man waving a knife at traffic on Lake Street in the Village of Le Roy.  He was arrested and jailed without bail.

Daniel James Loster, 38, of Lake Street, Le Roy, is charged with attempted petit larceny. Loster was arrested after Le Roy patrol officers responded to a call on Lake Street at 11:09 p.m., Feb. 26, of an attempted petit larceny. Loster was allegedly attempting to enter a vehicle in the driveway of a residence after being told multiple times the vehicle was not his. He was issued an appearance ticket.

Samantha Marie Neal, 31, of West Main Street, Le Roy, is charged with harassment 2nd. Neal is accused of striking another person with a collapsible dog training device during an incident reported at 3:06 p.m., Feb. 28, on West Main Street, Le Roy. She was issued an appearance ticket.

Sean Griffith Johnson, 53, of Lake Street, Le Roy, is charged with assault 3rd degree. Johnson was arrested by Le Roy PD following a report of a disturbance at an apartment building on Lake Street, Le Roy, at 8:07 p.m., March 7. Johnson was issued an appearance ticket.

Alexander L. Baldwin, 33, of East Main Street, Batavia, is charged with petit larceny. Jayson Lee Chamberlain, 37, no address provided, is charged with criminal contempt 2nd. Chamberlain is accused of violating an order of protection by placing a phone call to the protected party at 2:34 p.m., March 2. He was arraigned in Town of Oakfield Court and released on his own recognizance. 

Angelica Marie Stanley, 33, no permanent address, is charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance.  Stanley was allegedly found in possession of crack cocaine and adderal that wasn't prescribed to her at 11:10 p.m., March 8, on Liberty Street, Batavia, and arrested by Deputy Andrew Mullen with assistance from Deputy James Stack and K-9 "Rayzor."

Andrew Anh Sczepanski, 24, of South Lake Road, Bergen, is charged with DWI, driving with a BAC of .08 or greater, driving to left of pavement markings, and moving from lane unsafely. Sczepanski was stopped at 11:44 p.m., March 8, on Route 33 in Batavia, by Sgt. Mathew Clor.

Michael E. Main, 38, no address provided, Oakfield, is charged with offering a false instrument for filing.  Main is accused of signing a supporting deposition in an ongoing investigation knowing the information was false at 10:30 a.m., Dec. 23, on Maple Avenue in Oakfield.

A suspected shoplifter has run from Walmart and was first reported heading toward the old Kmart, ditching his loot along the way.

He's described as a white male with a blue cap and a light green jacket.

An off-duty officer spotted him running behind Pawn King.

UPDATE 12:52 p.m.: A deputy is out with the suspect in the Batavia Downs parking lot.  There has apparently been merchandise found under a pickup truck in a nearby parking lot.

UPDATE 12:55 p.m.: The suspect is in custody. Additional merchandise has been recovered in the Country Max parking lot.

Cameron J. Sokolowski, 29, of Batavia, is charged with theft of services. Sokolowski is accused of refusing to pay cab fare at 10:03 a.m., Feb. 20.  It's alleged that Sokolowski accepted a ride from a taxi driver and when he reached his destination, went inside and refused to come back out and pay the driver. He was issued an appearance ticket.

Benito A. Gay, 33, of Batavia, is charged with petit larceny. Gay is accused of stealing beer from the cooler at the Kwik Fill on Jackson Street, Batavia, at 8 p.m., Feb. 20. He allegedly took three beers and exited the store without paying for the beer. He was arrested and issued an appearance ticket.

Kenneth T. Marrocco, 29, of Batavia, is charged with burglary 2nd and criminal contempt 1st. Marrocco allegedly violated a stay-away order of protection by being inside the residence of the protected party at 1:54 p.m., Feb. 25, on Montclair Avenue. He was arraigned in City Court and ordered held on $5,000 bail, $10,000 bond, or $20,000 partially secured bond.

Angie C. Maniace, 40, of Batavia, is charged with harassment 2nd and criminal contempt 1st. Maniace is accused of violating an order of protection and striking the protected party at 7:35 p.m., March 2 at a location on Chandler Avenue, Batavia. She was issued an appearance ticket.

Laura R. Mroz, 32, of Batavia, is charged with harassment 2nd and criminal contempt 1st. Morz is accused of violating an order of protection during a disturbance reported at 7:53 p.m., March 2. on Chandler Avenue, Batavia. She was issued an appearance ticket.

Julius L. Sanford, 29, of Buffalo, is charged with criminal possession of a forged instrument 2nd, failure to stop for a stop sign, unregistered motor vehicle, and uninsured motor vehicle. Sanford was stopped by a Batavia patrol officer on East Main Street, Batavia, at 1:14 a.m., Feb. 13. He was arraigned in City Court and released on his own recognizance. 

Derrick M. Williams, 32, of Batavia, is charged with criminal mischief 4th. Williams was arrested on a warrant stemming from an incident reported at 4:18 a.m., Sept. 25. He was arraigned in City Court and released.

Michelle D. Ulickey, 45, of Batavia, is charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance 7th. Ulickey was allegedly found in possession of cocaine during a traffic stop by a Batavia patrol officer for allegedly driving with no headlights at 3:15 a.m., March 2, on East Main Street, Batavia. She was released on an appearance ticket.

Tonya M. Weber, 38, of Batavia, was arrested on a bench warrant. Weber is charged with petit larceny in connection with an incident reported on Ellicott Street, Batavia, at 6:01 p.m., Dec. 7. Weber was arraigned in City Court and released under supervision.

Antwoine Kush, 19, of Rhulman Road, Lockport, is charged with criminal contempt 2nd. Kush allegedly violated a complete stay-away order of protection by contacting the protected party at 2 p.m., Jan. 8. Kush was issued an appearance ticket.

David Michael Milillo, 63, of Rochester, is charged with menacing 2nd. Miller is accused of displaying a pistol during a business transaction at 12:30 p.m., Sept. 2, at a location on Byron Holley Road, Byron, causing the victim to fear physical injury or death. Milillo was arrested following an investigation by Investigator Joseph Loftus and was issued an appearance ticket.

Nicholas Adam Pietrzykowski, 45, of East Road, Middlebury, is charged with DWAI/Drugs and criminal possession of a controlled substance 7th. Pietrzykowski was stopped at 7:25 p.m., July 25, on East Main Street, Batavia, by Deputy Nicholas Chamoun. He was arrested on March 3 following an investigation and issued an appearance ticket.

(name redacted upon request), 47, of Alexander, is charged with criminal contempt 2nd. xxxx allegedly violated a stay-away order on eight different locations. He was arraigned in Town of Batavia Court and released on his own recognizance. 

Deanna Rae Lynn Couchman, 27, of Chili Avenue, Rochester, is charged with felony DWI, felony driving with a BAC of .18 or greater, aggravated unlicensed operation, failure to keep right, and failure to signal. Couchman was stopped at 3:12 a.m., March 5, on Route 33 in Bergen by Sgt. Mathew Clor. She was issued appearance tickets.

Andrew Luis Coffey, 33, of South Goodman Avenue, Rochester, is charged with criminal possession of stolen property.  Coffey was allegedly found in possession of property previously reported stolen from Kohl's Department Store at 2:32 p.m., March 1. Coffey was issued an appearance ticket.

Jonah Ty Luplow, 19, of Pearl Street Road, Batavia, is charged with DWI, driving with a BAC of .08 or greater, and failure to use designated lane. Luplow was stopped at 1:44 a.m., March 6, on Bank Street Road, Batavia, by Deputy Joshua Brabon. He was issued appearance tickets.

Amanda Beth Hopkins, 42, of Bethany, is charged with DWI, aggravated DWI, endangering the welfare of a child, and moving from lane unsafely. Hopkins was reportedly involved in accident at 5:15 p.m., Jan. 21, on Ellicott Street Road, Pavilion.  Her BAC was allegedly greater than .08. Their was allegedly a child in the vehicle. She was arrested on March 5 by Deputy Nicholas Chamoun.  Hopkins was issued an appearance ticket.

Sandra L. Berrios, 62, of Batavia, is charged with DWI and driving with a BAC of .08 or greater. Berrios was stopped by State Police at 10:58 p.m., March 5, in the Town of Batavia. She was issued an appearance ticket. No other information released.

(Name redacted upon request), 20, of Byron, is charged with petit larceny. xxxx was arrested by State Police in the Town of Batavia for an incident reported at 1:30 p.m., March 2. He was released on an appearance ticket. No other information released.

Gerald L. Arnett, 49, of Rochester, is charged with felony DWI, felony aggravated DWI, and driving without an interlock device. Arnett was stopped by State Police at 3:54 p.m., Feb. 28, in the Town of Byron. There was allegedly a child in the vehicle. He was released on an appearance ticket. No other information released.

Antwan Odom Christopher McClinic

Two Batavia men have been arrested in Wyoming County on burglary charges, accused of stealing firearms and other property.

Antwan L. Odom, 21, and Christopher V. McClinic face four counts of burglary 2nd, a Class C violent felony.

Odom was arraigned and jailed in Wyoming County on $100,000 bail. McClinic was released under supervision.

The investigation began on Feb. 17 after a reported burglary in the Town of Covington. 

Based on tips, search warrants were executed in Batavia and firearms, other property, and related evidence were recovered.

Wyoming County Sheriff Gregory J. Rudolf said witnesses reported seeing a suspicious vehicle on the day of the burglaries and that Batavia PD also received anonymous that and that citizen assistance was vital to the investigation.

He issued the following statement:

“I want to thank the community and those individuals for their assistance in this investigation.  It proves public safety is truly a public venture.  The professionals of the Genesee County Sheriff’s Office and the Batavia Police Department likewise provided essential support as this investigation trekked out of Wyoming County.  Our own Criminal Investigations Division has labored continuously since February 17^th running down leads, applying for search warrants, gathering evidence, conducting interviews and assembling an extensive case file to bring this case to this point and that work has been commendable.  Those Investigators will continue to work this case as information develops and through its prosecution by the Wyoming County District Attorney’s Office.  Anyone with information is still asked to call the Wyoming County Sheriff’s Office at:  585-786-8989 or our Confidential Tip Line at:  585-786-8965.”

The Village of Elba's welcome sign proudly proclaims, "Onion Capital of the World."

Somebody apparently thinks that would make a fine item to own for themselves.

Recently, somebody cut down and stole the sign.

Until about 2013, the sign is well known for its phrase, "POP: Just Right."  That was changed because it didn't seem welcoming to some people.

Dawn Puleo, 55 of Batavia pled guilty to a single count of petit larceny in Genesee County Court on February 24, 2022.  Sentencing has been scheduled for April.

Puleo was originally charged with 4 counts of Offering a False Instrument for Filing and one count of Grand Larceny 3^rd after an investigation by Genesee County Department of Social Services Investigator Robert Riggi found that Puleo failed to report that she was receiving child support payments on her applications.  She received $4555.00 in SNAP benefits she was not entitled to. 

Full restitution has been made to the Genesee County Department of Social Services, and Puleo will be disqualified from the SNAP program for a 12-month period.

Garlyn Maurice Gause, 42, of Brookhaven Terrace, Rochester, is charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance 7th, aggravated unlicensed operation, insufficient turn signal, and consumption of alcohol in a motor vehicle. Gause was stopped at 2:11 a.m., Feb. 12, on East Main Street, Batavia, by Deputy Nicholas Charmoun. During the stop, K-9 "Rayzor" (handler Deputy James Stack) alerted on the possible presence of narcotics inside the vehicle. It's alleged that Gause was in possession of narcotics. He was released on an appearance ticket.

Jerry Tyrone Saddler, 45, of State Street, Batavia, is charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance 4th, tampering with physical evidence, criminal possession of a controlled substance, and obstructing governmental administration 2nd. Saddler was arrested in connection with a traffic stop at 2:12 a.m., Feb. 12, by Deputy Nicholas Charmoun, on East Main Street, Batavia. Saddler was a passenger in the vehicle. During the stop, K-9 "Rayzor" (handler Deputy James Stack) alerted on the possible presence of narcotics inside the vehicle. Saddler was allegedly attempted to conceal his possession of narcotics while being booked into the Genesee County Jail. He was arraigned in City Court and ordered held without bail.

Victoria L. Jacques, 52, of Batavia, is charged with endangering the welfare of a child and assault 3rd. Jacques was arrested in connection with an incident on Elm Street reported at 8:35 p.m., Feb. 20. Jacques was arraigned in City Court and released under supervision.

Jeremiah D. Williams, 30, of Batavia, is charged with two counts of criminal possession of a weapon 3rd. Williams is accused of possession of a fully automatic handgun on Aug. 17 at a location on Oak Street, Batavia, and of possessing a weapon with a prior felony conviction. He was jailed without bail.

Loretta L. Baer, 50, of Batavia, is charged with harassment 2nd. Baer is accused of charging a person and placing her hands around that person's neck while at UMMC at 3:36 a.m., Feb. 18. Baer was issued an appearance ticket.

Jeremiah T. Jones, 48, of Batavia, is charged with tampering with a witness 4th. Jones is accused of threatening a person who was testifying in a court proceeding. The alleged threat was reported at 1:40 p.m., Feb. 6.  Jones was released on his own recognizance.

Janell M. Sauer, 46, of Batavia, was arrested on a bench warrant. Sauer is accused of petit larceny on Jan. 16. Sauer was arraigned in City Court and released under supervision.

Melody J. McMaster, 51, of Batavia, is charged with criminal tampering 3rd. McMaster is accused of removing fire extinguishers from their designated locations at a business on State Street, Batavia, at 7:19 a.m., Feb. 17. McMaster was arraigned in City Court and released on her own recognizance.

Lyndsay T. Young, 38, of Batavia, is charged with conspiracy 6th. Young was arrested by State Police in connection with an incident reported at 6:11 p.m., Nov. 10, in the Town of Batavia. She was released on an appearance ticket. No further details released.

Marlon Hibbert

Following a traffic stop on Thursday, Deputy Kenneth Quackenbush had reason to believe "criminal activity was afoot" and requested backup, which came from the K-9 unit, Deputy James Stack and "Rayzor."

The team reportedly found in the vehicle, stopped at Route 33 and West Bergen Road in Bergen, a quantity of crack cocaine and a firearm.

Arrested at the scene was Marlon O. Hibbert, 35, of Rochester.  His passengers were released without charges.

Hibbert is charged with:

• Criminal possession of a narcotic drug, a Class B felony;
• Criminal possession of a narcotic drug with intent to sell, a Class B felony;
• Criminal possession of a weapon 2nd, a Class C felony;
• Aggravated unlicensed operation 3rd;
• Unlicensed operator;
• Failure to yield the right of way at a stop sign.

Hibbert was arraigned in Town of Bergen Court and ordered held on bail of $5,000 or $10,000 bond.

Assisting in the investigation were Sgt. Andrew Hale, Deputy Nate Chamound, members of the Local Drug Task Force, and the District Attorney's Office.

Frank Baumgardner, 40, of Laurel Oak Way, Batavia, is charged with issuing a bad check. Baumgardner is accused of issuing a bad check at about noon, Jan. 5, at a location on Myrtle Street, Le Roy. The case was investigated by Le Roy Officer Stephen Cappotelli.

Johnny Gene Jenison, 51, of Clinton Street, Cowlesville, is charged with forcible touching. Jenison was wanted on a warrant issued out of Town of Batavia Court in relation to an incident reported on 10:09 p.m., July 22, at Fairbridge Inn & Suites, 4371 Federal Drive, Batavia. He was also charged with failure to report change of address.  Jenison was arraigned in Town of Batavia Court and released under supervision.

Klarissa Carol Price, 43, of Halstead Road, Batavia, is charged with trespass. Price was arrested on a warrant out of Town of Batavia Court in relation to an incident reported at 4 p.m., Sept. 28, at a location on West Main Street, Batavia. Price was released on her own recognizance. 

Chris John Bannister, 57, of Route 98, Attica, is charged with DWI, speeding, and criminal possession of a controlled substance 7th. Bannister was stopped at 1:57 a.m., Feb. 22, on Clinton Street Road, Stafford, by Sgt. Mathew Clor. Release status unknown.

Patricia A. Gibson, 32, of Pearl Street, Batavia, is charged with petit larceny. Gibson is accused of shoplifting from Walmart at 2:17 p.m., Feb. 22. She was issued an appearance ticket.
