EAST BETHANY - Marie A. Shea, 79, of East Bethany, passed away Tuesday, October 29, 2019, at The Grand Rehabilitation and Nursing At Batavia.

 Marie was born March 15, 1940, in Batavia, a daughter of the late Carl and Leona Miller.

She was a worked as an assembler at GTE Sylvania and then a machine operator for Chapin International in Batavia.  She was a member of West Bethany Baptist Church, was the former Court Clerk for the Bethany Town Court and loved animals and riding horses.  She was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister-in-law and aunt.

She was the wife of William E. Shea, whom she married October 1, 1959.

Survivors include her daughter Deborah (Don) Shufelt of Elba; her son Steven Shea of Batavia; 4 grandchildren, Nicole (Patrick) Whelley, Amber Shea, Craig Shufelt and Emily Shea; 2 great-grandchildren, Fergus Whelley and Oliver Whelley; several nieces and nephews.

   GREGORY G. WAGNER, 55, of Attica passed away peacefully in his home on October 24, 2019 after a lengthy battle with cancer. He was born March 20, 1964 to the late Robert and Florence (Kolberg) Wagner of Attica, NY.

Greg enjoyed boating throughout The 1000 Islands and Finger Lakes, snowmobiling in the Adirondacks, was an avid racecar fan, a music lover and a master of the art of ‘air-guitar’. He loved to travel and spend time with his family and closest friends. Greg could light up any room with his smile and witty sense of humor. He was a kind, loving soul who always cared for those around him.

He is survived by his wife of 22 years, Mary Beth (Brooks) Wagner; daughter Megan Wagner of Attica, NY; brothers Bryan (Lois) Wagner of Bracey, VA and Jeffrey (Geraldine) of Angola, NY; niece Lisa Barber of Savannah, GA.

Dorothy M. Williams, 85, of Attica, passed away on October 29, 2019. She was born in Buffalo, NY on October 21, 1934 to the late Clarence and the late Hattie (Schultz) Aures. Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband, Henry Williams; her sister, Joan, brother, Roy, daughter, Sharon and grandson, Michael. 

Dorothy loved old country music and she enjoyed doing puzzles and playing Yahtzee. She was a very crafty lady. Her children and grandchildren will always cherish the many blankets that she crocheted for all those that she loved. Dorothy liked Roses and had a love for candy.

Dorothy is survived by her children, Kenneth (Tracy) Williams, David (Peggi) Williams, Joanne Lukasik, and Sandi Williams; sister, Jean Scherrer, 17 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

AUSTIN M. HEINEMAN ~ Age 25, of Corfu, died peacefully with his family by his side on Monday October 28, 2019 at Hospice Buffalo following his long battle with cancer. Austin was born April 3, 1994 in Buffalo, NY to Jason Heineman of Corfu and Jamie (McGiveron) Wasielewski of Basom. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandmother, Pamela Heineman.

Austin was an avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, dirt biking and hanging with his friends. He also enjoyed playing his Xbox especially Call of Duty and watching movies.

Austin is survived by his loving family that includes his siblings, aunts, uncles, grandparents, cousins and many friends.

IGNATIUS EDWARD DiSALVO ~ Age 76, of Batavia, died Saturday October 26, 2019 at Unity Hospital in Rochester after being stricken at home. He was born in Batavia, NY on January 15, 1943, a son of the late Joseph S. and Frances (Talone) DiSalvo also preceded in death by his sister, Annette Cory.

Ed enjoyed a good cup of coffee especially with his buddies, he was a gentle, kindhearted man who was a friend to all.

He is survived by his loving boys, Scott DiSalvo, Joseph (Amy) DiSalvo, Shaun DiSalvo all of Batavia; cherished grandchildren, David (Brittany) DiSalvo, Katelyn DiSalvo, Ariana, Hannah & Haley; 2 great-grandchildren, David and Justin; former spouse, Mary (Aquino) DiSalvo of Batavia; brother, John (Barb) DiSalvo of Warsaw; sister, Brenda (Jim) Pierce of Batavia; brother-in-law, Anthony Cory of Corfu along with several nieces, nephews and cousins.

BERNICE EVELYN SWIFT ~ Age 86, of Batavia, died Saturday October 26, 2019 at United Memorial Medical Center. Bernice was born September 11, 1933 in Dodgeville, Wisconsin to the late George and Ruth (Wilcox) Snyder also preceded in death by her husbands, Albert Swift and William Chesson along with brothers, Leo, Bud Snyder and Otho Bonner; grandson, Kevin Porter and great-grandson, Kyle Lee Maddison Michaels.

Bernice attended the Batavia Assembly of God and enjoyed spending time with her friends at 400 Towers and the Salvation Army.

Surviving are her beloved children, James (Ann Haus) Porter of LeRoy, Kenneth (Donna) Porter of OH, Ellen (David) Wood of E. Bethany, Debbie (Mark Obanion) Claw of OH, Sharon (Lynn) Porter-Wood of KY and Linda (Vincent) Mauer Sr. of KY; 16 cherished grandchildren, 37 great-grandchildren, several great-great grandchildren, former husband, Roy Porter along with several nieces and nephews.

  Elaine M. Lee, 82, of Perry, passed away on Sunday October 27, 2019 at the Wyoming County Nursing Facility in Warsaw. She was born on June 22, 1937 in Wellsville to the late Amos and Lula (Dimmick) Cornelius. In addition to her parents, Elaine is predeceased by her husband; Raymond Lee; son Daniel Kingdon; siblings Russell Cornelius, Darryl Cornelius and Cecil Gabrielson.

Elaine enjoyed watching Soap Operas, cooking and baking. She always looked forward to all of the Holidays, especially Christmas. She loved camping and fishing at Elma Pond and spending time with her family.

She is survived by her children; Sharon Lee of Perry, James Lee of Perry and Ronald (Sheila) Kingdon of MN.; sister Kathy Powers of MN.; 11 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, along with many nieces and nephews.

Byron – David G. Chupp passed away peacefully at The Villages of Orleans on Saturday, October 26, 2019, with his loving family by his side.

He was born on January 12, 1946 in Batavia, to the late William & Helen (Alexander) Chupp. 

He leaves behind, his beloved wife of 53 years, Patricia M. (Stone) Chupp whom he married on November 20, 1965; his loving children, Paula (Donald) Hohn of Bergen, Roxanne (Joseph) Noeth and Brian Chupp, both of Byron.  He also leaves behind his adored grandchildren, Zachary; Kristin (Ricky Messmer) and Joshua Hohn, all of Bergen and Abigail Noeth and Colin Noeth, both of Byron; his sister, Ruth (Justyn VanRyne) Chupp of Rochester; a brother-in-law, Robert Stone of Byron; a niece Chris Fore and a nephew, Scott Stone.

Along with his parents, he is predeceased by his parents-in-law, Robert and Mary (Menzie) Stone.

David worked at Eastman Kodak Co. for 34 years, was a US Army Veteran and a Life Member of the Sackett Merrill White American Legion Post.  He was also a Life Member of the Byron Fire Department, having served for 48 years.  He held the office of President and Bingo Chairman with the fire department and served on the Byron Park Committee for many years.

David was a very kind man, always willing to help anyone who needed it.  He loved watching his grandchildren’s sports events and never missed a game.  He loved fishing and he and his family spent many happy years on the water.

Friends may attend a “Celebration of Life” in his honor from 1 to 4 on Sunday, November 3, 2019 at the Byron Fire Hall, Route 262, Byron, NY.  Memorials may be made to the family for distribution to various charities.  Private burial will be in Byron Cemetery, Byron, NY.  Arrangements were entrusted to H.E. TERRY A. (BISHOP) TEDROW ~ Age 57, of Penfield, died peacefully Wednesday October 23, 2019 at Highland Hospital. Terry was born May 23, 1962 in Hornell, NY to the late Harland and Marjorie (White) Bishop also preceded in death by brother, Harland Bishop.

Terry was a graduate of Batavia High School, she had a penchant for laughter and a good time, she enjoyed cooking especially for friends and loved ones.

She is survived by her loving family to include her children, grandchildren, siblings, former husbands, nieces, nephews and many friends.

CATHERINE “KATIE” FELDMAN ~ Age 81, Batavia’s quick witted, sassy waitress died suddenly Friday morning October 18, 2019 at her home. She was born in Yates, NY on October 7, 1938, a daughter of the late Millard “Curly” and Ellen (Harris) Thompson also preceded in death by a son Michael Feldman and daughter, Kimberly Nemechek.

Catherine affectionately known to all as “Katie” (Granny) was a fixture in the city of Batavia from the former Hub Restaurant, Katie’s Place, Sport of Kings and Tim Horton’s. She spent her life serving others in the community along with raising her 5 children on her own. A caring, selfless woman who believed in an honest day’s work and helping anyone in need. She loved to sit in the sun visiting with friends on the patio, feeding the birds and squirrels, stock car races and country jamborees with her sister, Loretta. Katie likes her scratch-off tickets, word search puzzles and the occasional visit to the track for the slots. Katie was loved and will be deeply missed by her family. Katie was a warrior.

She is survived by her beloved children, Jamo (Steph) Feldman of Batavia, Raymond (Lori) Feldman of Stafford, Kandy (Rob) Zajaczkowski and their son, Cody of LeRoy and DeAnna (Ruben) Torres and their boys, Derrek & Wyatt of LeRoy along with several other grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins.

South Byron - Mrs. Alice O. Stokes, 99, of South Byron, passed away Tuesday, October 22, 2019, at her home 9 days before her 100^th birthday.

Mrs. Stokes was born October 31, 1919, in East Bethany, daughter of the late Daniel and Edna Spencer Rich.

A member of the First Baptist Church of Elba, she loved reading and crocheting. She was known as Allie to the many children she babysat for over the years. A special thanks from the family to Antoinette Jeerings for her wonderful and loving care of Alice.

She was predeceased by her husband, George W. Stokes, who passed away on October 24, 1970.

Survivors include her children; Douglas (late Janet) Stokes of California, Bruce (late Janie) Stokes of Pennsylvania, Sandra (Craig) Gillard of Batavia and Kathy (Daniel) Cummings of South Byron; ten grandchildren, late Kevin (Anita) Ulmer, Susan (Joseph) Napolitano, Nathaniel (Yvonne) Stokes, Heather (Peter) Wurst, Justin Gillard, Travis Gillard, Ben Gillard, Melannie (Shawn) Maher, Laura Cummings and Andrew (Allison) Cummings, 14 great-grandchildren, three great-great-grandchildren; her sisters, Shirley Mowers of Bergen and Doris Boshart of Alden and several nieces and nephews.

She is the sister of the late Bertha Stokes, Lillian Say, Charles Rich, Ida Raymond, Harold Rich, Celia Chilson, Theodore Rich, Paul Rich, Marian Rich and Raymond Rich.

Pavilion ~ Esther Fry Goras Macomber, age 91, of Walker Road, formerly of Batavia, passed away at home on Wednesday evening (October 23, 2019).

     She was born March 23, 1928 in Bradford Township, PA, a daughter of the late William and Mildred Turner Fry.

     Esther will be remembered as a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, who was a hard worker and enjoyed reading, shopping and doing word searches.

     She is survived by her children, Evelyn Goras, Andrew (Dorothy) Goras, Susan Davis, Mildred Schiller, Robert (Anita) Goras, Shirley (Vance) Wyder, Ralph Macomber, Joyce Macomber, Eileen Macomber, Heidi Macomber, Amanda Macomber and Loren (Ashley) Macomber; daughter-in-law, Marjorie Goras; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren, along with many nieces and nephews.

     She was predeceased by her husbands, Adam Goras and Ralph Macomber; son, Adam John Goras and her brothers, Art Fry, Duane Fry and Harold Fry.

     Services and interment in the Alabama Cemetery will be private.

Rita A. Streeter, age 92, formerly of Bergen and Greene NY passed away on Wednesday October 23, 2019 at the Livingston County Center for Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Mt. Morris where she had been residing. She was born in Batavia, NY on Dec. 6, 1926, a daughter to the late Lafayette and Theresa (Horsch) Wilder.

Rita was a graduate of Oakfield High School and received she Bachelor’s degree at Brockport College. She was a social worker for Genesee Valley Nursing Home and a substitute teacher for Byron-Bergen Central School district. She was a member of the Red Hat Society and a volunteer for the American Red Cross in Greene, NY. She was a talented watercolor and oil painter, she had a great love for animals, and enjoyed reading and going on walks.

She is survived by 2 daughters: Susan (Daniel) Ragle of Blairsville, GA., Beth Paquin of LeLand, NC, 3 sons: James Douglas (Mary Lou) Streeter of Queenscreek, AZ., Daniel (Susan Swanson) Streeter of Perry, Timothy (Karin) Streeter of Tempe, Az, 11 grandchildren, along with many great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Along with her parents she is preceded in death by her husband: James F. Streeter who passed away in 2016, son: Duane Streeter who passed in 1976, son-in-law: Andrew Paquin, siblings: Layfayette, William and Wayman Wilder and Phyllis Debbage.

  Betty Marzolf, 73, of Darien Center passed away peacefully at her home on Tuesday October 22, 2019 surrounded by her family. She was born on July 9, 1946 to the late Lloyd and Ernestine (Baetzhold) McJury.

Betty was a member of the Darien Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary. She enjoyed doing ceramics, cross-stitching and gardening. She had a love for animals and loved going to her grandchildren’s football and baseball games.

She is survived by her loving husband who she married on May 6, 1967; Neil Marzolf; children Neil (Laura) Marzolf, Doug (Jennifer) Marzolf, Craig Marzolf and Todd (Ellen) Marzolf; Brother Ken (Sarah) McJury; grandchildren Jason, Hunter, Grace, Adrien, Carson, Scott and Nick Marzolf, along with many nieces and nephews.

BERGEN - Stephen H. Holley, 59, of Bergen, passed away Tuesday, October 22, 2019, at Strong Memorial Hospital following a lengthy illness.

 Mr. Holley was born January 1, 1960, in Ocean City, California, a son of Howard Holley of Arizona and the late Pamela (Palermo) Holley.

He was a Mail Handler for United States Postal Service in Rochester and was a horseman at Batavia Downs for a number of years.  He enjoyed watching Yankees baseball along with Cowboys football.  Most of all though, he held a deep love for his grandchildren.

He is the husband of Paula (Stoecklein) Holley of Bergen.  The two were married September 22, 1990. 

Surviving along with his wife are his children, Christopher (Amanda) Holley of Pavilion , Stacy (Rob) Alcott of Pavilion, and Mark (Laura Mullen) Holley of Bergen; grandchildren, Logan and MacKenzie Holley, and Jesse Alcott; a brother, Kevin Holley of Rochester; a sister, Donna Dellacruz of Brighton.
