Lucy A. Moag, 77 of Batavia, passed away November 5, 2013 at Westgate Skilled Nursing Facility in Rochester. She was born May 7, 1936 in Alexander to the late Charles (Margaret Gilhooly) Buckenmeyer. Mrs. Moag enjoyed going to the Senior Center in Batavia, crocheting and art work. She is preceded in death by her son Christopher Moag; brother Charles Buckenmeyer; sisters Elizabeth Buckenmeyer and Mary Falkowski.

Lucy is survived by her son Michael (Cindy) Moag of Batavia; daughters Colleen DeBuyser of Rochester; Lisa (Zynon) Putney of Brockport; brothers Francis Buckenmeyer of Alexander; George (Dorothy) Buckenmeyer of FL; Bernard (Jerry) Buckenmeyer of Alexander; sisters Catherine (Paul) Raines of Alexander; Dorothy Moynihan of Batavia; Margaret (James) Hoffman of Attica; 8 grandchildren, 1 great-grandchild, along with many nieces and nephews.

Richard W. Boyle, 73 of Perry, passed away November 6, 2013 at Crossroads House in Batavia. He was born in Rochester on May 12, 1940 to the late Lloyd (Jane Garland) Boyle. Mr. Boyle was a United States Army Veteran, member of the American Legion and the Perry Vets Club. He belonged to St. Isidore’s Parish in Perry. Mr. Boyle collected trains and various toys. He worked at Valeo in Rochester as a Crane Operator and was a member of the Operating Engineer Union #834 of Rochester. 

He is survived by his beloved wife Ruth (Aman) Boyle of Perry; daughters Colleen (Thomas) Zanghi of Perry; Lisa (Stuart) Townes of Perry; Julie (William) Carman of Groveland; sisters Kathleen Hart of Bradenton, FL; Nancy (David Spencer) Kramell of Pavilion; brother James (Pamela) Boyle of Briar Hill; 6 grandchildren Joel (Bobbie Joe) Townes; Matthew (Christian) Townes; William Przysinda III; Brooke Carman; Kelly & Karly Zanghi; 2 great-grandchildren Kane Townes & Eithan Barnhardt, along with many nieces, nephews, cousins and good friends.

Dr. Anne Marie Guthrie, 49, passed peacefully in her home on Oct. 29th surrounded by her family and friends after an 8 year struggle with breast cancer. Anne Marie graduated from Perry H.S. in 1982, earned her B.A. and Masters degree at University of Buffalo, delivered two education symposiums overseas while working at Florida International University in Miami and earned her Doctorate of Education from University of Memphis.  Anne Marie was recognized as a founding leader in experiential education, and traveled widely to include China, to establish experiential education as a national model. The past decade Anne Marie served as a Dean at Keuka College. Anne Marie loved to golf, duck hunt and wood work with her dad.

Anne Marie is survived by her parents A. Eugene and Marjorie Guthrie, brother Barry & Lisa Guthrie, husband David Ferry, Hodgins Uncles:  Hugh & Gwen, Clifford & Linda, Kenneth & Barbara, Wesley & MaryJoyce and her aunt Clarita & Irving Wilsey, plus a large family of relatives and friends whom she was devoted to. Anne Marie is also survived by her good friend Cindy Tarala (Dariel Draper) and her "Children" Jennifer Wilson (Bill), Stacey Beagle; Geoff and Jimmy Becker; "grand children" Devon and Tyler Wilson; Ethan and Emma Beagle, along with her great aunt Rose Hodgins.

Alicia M. Halpenny, 23 of Portageville, passed away on November 5, 2013 at Highland Hospital after a courageous battle with Cystic Fibrosis. She was born November 3, 1990 in Warsaw to John F. (Lucinda M. Piper) Halpenny of Portageville. Alicia was a Registered Nurse, working at Noyes Memorial Hospital in Dansville and also at Rise and Shine Baby Home in Jinja, Uganda. She was an avid soccer player and track runner. Alicia loved nature, hiking, camping, the beach, frozen yogurt, venison jerky and most of all her nieces. She was a member of Old Paths Chapel in Perry, volunteering in the youth group and was very active in the church in general. Alicia was very active in her mission work and serving Jesus, she literally gave her life to serve the Lord. Everybody loved Alicia, she cared for everyone and will be remembered as a selfless treasure. Alicia is preceded in death by her grandmother Arlene Halpenny and her grandfather John Piper.

Along with her parents Alicia is survived by her sisters Tara (Shawn) Gardner of Warsaw; Sara (Reggie) Green of Sarasota, FL; Marcy (Justin) Duchnick of Dansville; grandfather Clifford Halpenny of Mt. Morris; grandmother Cleo Piper of Hunt; nieces Katherine and Makayla Gardner; Faith and Hannah Mosher; Jade Green.

Batavia - Mr. Joseph P. Welch, 83, a retired employee of Eastman Kodak Co., died unexpectedly on Monday, November 4, 2013.

Mr. Welch was born March 17, 1930 in Bradford, Pennsylvania, the son of the late William L. and Natalie Trieskey Welch.

An active member of Resurrection Parish he was involved in many activities of the Church and St. Joseph’s School.  He served as President of the St. Vincent de Paul Society of the Church and was a past President of the St. Joseph Home School Association.  He was an avid genealogist.

A veteran of the Korean he served in the US Army having been discharged as a 1st Lieutenant.

He is survived by his wife, Susanne Duhan Welch, whom he married June 9, 1956; his children, Joseph P. Welch, Jr of Batavia, Julie (Douglas) Burt of Cuba, NY, Mary Ellen (Robert) Zickl of Batavia, Kathleen (Daniel) Carr of Cheektowaga, Eileen (Brad) Zilliox of Webster, Sheila (Scott) Woodrich of Oakfield and Peggy (Robert) Swapceinski of Bergen and one sister, Mary Kammerer of Rochester.  He was the loving Grandfather to Susie, Sean, Sarah, Katie, Joanna, Hannah, Meghan, Matt, Haley, Brett, Joe, Danny, Zach, Jimmy, Emily, Adam, Josh and Caitlen.

Friends may call on Thursday from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Bohm-Calarco-Smith Funeral Home, 308 E. Main St. Batavia.  His Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday at 9:30 am at Resurrection Parish - St. Joseph Church, 303 East. Main Street. Leah E. Mattoon Doneburg Kelly, 90 of Perry, passed away November 3, 2013 peacefully at her home with her family at her side. She was born in Avoca on December 18, 1922 to the late Harley (Pearl) Mattoon. Mrs. Kelly was a long standing resident of Perry, New York who loved her family and was embraced by many. To know her was to love her. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Perry. She is predeceased by her first husband Ellis H. Doneburg, who died September 3, 1970, and her second husband, Keith G. Kelly, who died April 5, 1989, her son Harley C. Doneburg, who died February 20, 2011. She is also predeceased by her brothers Elmo, Robert, Clayton, Verne, Harley, and Lee Mattoon.

She is survived by her son, Ellis A. (Marcia) Doneburg of Watagua, TX; daughter Diane (Kenneth) Thompson of Perry; grandchildren, Rhonda K. Doneburg of Ft. Worth, TX; Karlie Doneburg (Chris Colisimo) and Desiree Doneburg of Rochester; Harley (Leigha) Doneburg of Perry; Karri (Clarice) Thompson of Long Island; Michael Thompson of Geneseo, 9 great grandchildren, along with nieces and nephews.

Frank J. Voll, Jr., 66 of Akron, died peacefully Saturday morning (November 2, 2013) at his residence while under hospice care.

He was born in Buffalo, NY on January 23, 1947, a son of the late Frank J. Voll and Dorothy McIntyre Voll of Clarence, NY.

Frank was an Army Veteran of the Vietnam War.  He was formerly employed by Eastman Machine Company in Buffalo for over 22 years, starting as a mechanical engineer and later becoming Vice President of Operations.  Frank later moved on to work for Delphi where he retired in 2012.  He also was a member of the L.L. Tillman American Legion Post #900 in Akron.

Surviving is his loving wife of 44 years, Christine Wolters Voll of Akron.  Daughter, Wendy (Josh) Schadt of Middleport. Son, Raymond Voll.  Grandchildren, Andrew Seguin and Aaron Schadt, Collin and Katty Voll.  Brother James Voll of Ransomville.

There will be no prior visitation.  Family and friends may gather for a memorial service on Saturday, November 9th, 11am at High Point Church, 1163 Main Rd., Corfu, NY, where full military honors will follow the service.

Elwood R. Claud was born in Dansville, NY a son of the late Paul and Susan Moultroupe Claud. Al retired from the Rochester Carpenters Union Local #85, he also helped out his late brother Robert Claud with his construction business. He was a member of the Perry VFW, Perry Vets Club, Silver Lake Sportsman’s Club, and Dom Polski’s. He enjoyed playing cards, cutting wood, and going to tractor pulls. He is preceded in death by siblings Dorothy Hanna, Julia Brooks, Betty Vickers, Helen Burley, Paul, Edward, Bill and Robert Claud.

He is survived by his wife Jean Claud whom he married on May 11, 1963, 3 daughters: Lisa (Kenny) Safford , Jody (Michael) Clark and Carol (Travis Fuller) Claud all of Perry, 1 son: Brian Claud of Penfield, 4 sisters: Theresa Aberth of Leicester, Sue (Donald) Clark of Perry, Charlotte (Marshall) Cox of Syracuse and Kay (Joe) Koch of Leicester, a sister-in-law: Sally Claud of Leicester, 6 grandchildren: Cassandra (Zach) Rice, Ryan Clark, Mitchell Claud, Patrick Claud, Craig Safford, and Cory Dillon, along with many nieces and nephews.

Gladys was born in Perry, New York a daughter of the late Clair and Jessie Lines McBride. She was a register nurse for several years before her marriage to Robert Graham in 1945 then stayed home on the farm to tend to her family. She was a member of the Portageville Baptist Church where she was active in many church activities. A volunteer for the Wyoming County Community Hospital where she worked in their gift shop, for the American Cancer Society and worked on many blood drives for the American Red Cross. She was active in the Memorial Hall in Hunt and helpful in their revitalization project, she was on the board for the former Nunda Community home and the election board for the Town of Portage. She was a former 4-H leader for the “Baking Buttons”. Gladys enjoyed baking, cooking, quilting, swimming at the YMCA in Hornell, and spending time with her family especially with her grandchildren. She is preceded in death by a sister Helen McBride and brother Kenneth McBride.

She is survived by her husband whom she married on November 9, 1945 Robert J. Graham Jr., 3 daughters: Pemba (Dwight) Harder of Castile, Kathryn (Stephen) Lewis of Hunt, Christina (David) Vanderbosch of Prattsburgh, 1 son: Rodney (Linda) Graham of Hunt, 1 sister: Cynthia Fischer of Perry, 17 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, along with many nieces and nephews, good friends and neighbors.

PAUL JON "PJ" PORTER – Age 57, of Batavia, died Thursday morning October 31, 2013 at Buffalo General Hospital. He was born July 27, 1956, in Batavia, NY, to Laura (Yaw) of Batavia and the late Gordon M. Porter.

   Paul was a 1975 graduate of Batavia High School, he attended GCC, Buffalo State, and the Florida Institute of Technology in Melbourne, FL. He graduated from Riverside School of Aeronautics in Utica, NY in 1982 and was an avid fan of airplanes and flight. He was an employee of I SQUARED R Element Co., Inc. in Akron.

   Surviving along with his mother is a sister, Deborah L. Conroy; 3 nieces, Emily, Jessica and Rebecca all of Batavia; an aunt, Patti Netzley of Batavia and uncle, Joe (Charlotte) Yaw of San Diego, CA, along with many friends.

LEONA B. NOGROSKY – Age 99, of Batavia, died peacefully Thursday morning October 31, 2013 at the Genesee County Nursing Home. She was born November 20, 1913 in Rathmel, PA to the late Michel and Catherine (Stanisweski) Maxim also preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Nogrosky; brothers, Michael, Stanley, Joseph, John & Raymond Maxim; sisters, Mary Gustimbell and Jule Dickey.

   Mrs. Nogrosky was a longtime member of Resurrection Parish (St. Mary's Site), a Eucharistic minister and volunteer at Bingo. She worked at Massey Harris, Pocketbook Factory, E.N. Rowell Box Factory, Chapin's and retired from GTE Sylvania, where she assisted in organizing the union. Leona volunteered as a driver/companion for senior citizens who were homebound and in her free time enjoyed sewing, reading and embroidery.

   Surviving is a loving daughter, Mary Ann (late Vincent) Spiotta of Batavia and loving son, Don Norse of Florida; 3 grandchildren, Vickie Klein, Samuel (Yvonne) Monachino and Scot Monachino; 2 great-grandchildren, Erin Klein and Maggie Grace Monachino along with several nieces and nephews.

Christopher P. Wierda, 43 of Manchester, NH and formerly of Alabama, NY, died unexpectedly on Saturday (October 19, 2013) at his residence.

He was born April 9, 1970 in Buffalo, NY, a son of James and Susan Schlenker Wierda of Batavia.

Christopher was employed as a computer programmer for Wapac Labs in Manchester, NH.  He was a graduate of Oakfield-Alabama High School, where he excelled and enjoyed participating on the track team.  Christopher was a U.S. Army Veteran and served his country during Operation Desert Storm. He enjoyed photography, camping in the Adirondacks and was an avid outdoorsman who loved nature.  He was also very fond of computer technology and artistry.

Surviving besides his parents is a son, Dimitri Wierda. Step-son, Daniil Petlvannay and their mother, Oksana Wierda, all of Williamsville. Brother, Derk Wierda of Batavia. Sisters, Lindsay Wierda and Jessica (Thomas) Lewandowski, all of Batavia.  Maternal grandmother, Alice Schlenker of Tonawanda. Aunt, Mari Schlenker of Tonawanda.  Also surviving are several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.

LeRoy ~ Duffy S. Falcone, age 86, of Platt Avenue, passed away Sunday evening (Oct. 27, 2013) at United Memorial Medical Center in Batavia.

     Mr. Falcone was born February 13, 1927 in LeRoy, a son of the late James and Josephine Teresi Falcone.

     He was a retired maintenance supervisor of the LeRoy Post Office and a veteran of the U.S. Navy.  In his earlier years, he was also the manager of the Red Osier Restaurant and the LeRoy Country Club.

     He is survived by his daughters, Joanne Sallah of Jacksonville, FL and Gloria (Joseph) Avino of Batavia, sisters-in-law, Joanne Falcone of LeRoy and Ann Dillon of Fowlerville, daughter-in-law, Rebel Falcone of NC, 9 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, along with many nieces, nephews and dear friends. 

     Duffy was predeceased by his wife of 63 years, Thelma, his son, William, and his siblings, Ralph Falcone, Carrie Sandroni, Christina Zalacca, Josephine Falcone, Philip Falcone, Joseph Falcone and Salvatore Falcone.

FAITH T. CRAWFORD – Age 79, of Corfu died Saturday October 26, 2013 at United Memorial Medical Center. She was born June 21, 1934 in Buffalo, NY to the late Earl & Elizabeth (Marshall) Switzer also preceded in death by her brother, Marshall Switzer.

   Mrs. Crawford was a co-owner for many years of the True Value in Corfu.

   Surviving is her loving husband of 59 years, Clarence Crawford of Corfu; sons, Gregory (Charlotte) Crawford of Darien, Lester Crawford of Corfu and William (Pamela) Crawford of Sardinia; sisters, Dolores Shimo of Amherst and Mary Elizabeth (David) Weil of Angola; 6 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren along with several nieces and nephews.

J. Murray and to Ethan and Joshua Murnan and to Ben Zullig; also survived by many nieces, nephews, close relatives and friends.

Jane was born in Niagara Falls, NY on September 20, 1951.  She was a long time member of St. Mark’s Episcopal Church in LeRoy, NY.  She was employed by First Choice Travel in Batavia.  Jane was an avid gardener and loved flowers, music and reading.  Her home was always open to family and friends.  Her kindness, her devotion to family, her sense of humor and her love will be our treasured memories forever.

The family will be present to receive friends on Wednesday, Oct. 30^, 2013, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 pm at the H. E. Turner & Co. Funeral Home, 403 E. Main St., Batavia, NY.  Funeral services will be Friday, November 1, 2013 at 10 am at St. Mark’s Episcopal Church, 1 E.
