Gino L. Fava

Gino L. Fava, 90 Oakfield, passed away on January 20, 2014 at United Memorial Medical Center in Batavia. He was born on May 11, 1923 in South Alabama, NY to the late Guiglielmo “William” (Antonietta Minello) Fava. He is preceded in death by his brother Edwin Fava.

He is survived by his loving wife of 68 years Anna (Costantini) Fava of Oakfield; three children, Susan (Philip) Hubbert of Phoenix, AZ and Batavia; William (Cathy) Fava of Batavia; Debra (Robert) Cecere of Victor. Grandchildren are Majors Patrick (Brandy) Malone, son Alex of MD; Matthew (Kathryn) Fava, son William of VA; Ryan (Hannah) Fava, children Wyatt and Olivia of Ballston Lake; Philip (Kristine) Fava, daughter Elliana of Batavia; Patrick (Melody) Fava of Batavia; Drs. Dina (Mark) Dosch, children Mary Rose, Michael, and Joseph Dosch of Pittsburg, PA; Pamela Cecere of Sewickley, PA; step grandchildren Lucie Hubbert Cripe, daughters Madeline, Colby and Grace; and Sarah Hubbert (Rob) Bryan, sons Taylor and Cameron; sister Olga Fava Dean. In addition, there are many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends in the states, Canada, and Italy.

There will be no prior calling hours. A 10:00 AM Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday January 25, 2014 at St. Padre Pio Parish 56 Maple Ave. Oakfield, NY 14125. He will be laid to rest in St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Batavia.

John T. Holota

John T. Holota, 67, of Batavia, passed away Friday (January 17, 2014) at his residence.

He was born in Weiden, Germany on July 24, 1946, a son of Maria Kensy Holota of Batavia and the late Adam Holota, Sr.

John served from 1966-1968 with the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War and was a general laborer for various companies in the area. John was a member of the Polish Falcons Nest #493 and enjoyed hunting and fishing with his little buddy Riley.

Surviving besides his mother, is his son, Dr. Paul Holota of Virginia Beach, VA. Fiancée, Lonnie Bump of Batavia. Brother, Adam Holota of Batavia. Nephews, Matthew Holota of Batavia and David Holota of Fairbanks, Alaska.  Extended family, Jodi and Scott Williams and was a loving Papa to Riley Williams. 

Family and friends may gather to share memories, condolences and thoughts on Wednesday from 4-7pm at the J. LEONARD MCANDREW FUNERAL HOME, LLC, 2 Bogue Ave., Batavia.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated  9:30am on Thursday at Ascension Parish (Sacred Heart Church).

Interment with full military honors will be in St. Joseph Cemetery.

Jack Lee Hurlburt

Jack was born in Warsaw, New York on September 23, 1945 a son of the late Leonard and Leona (Clark) Hurlburt. Jack graduated from Perry High School. He was a truck driver for the former Agway Petroleum in Perry and worked for the former Ames Department Store in Warsaw. He was a very active member of the Perry Fire Department, and Western New York Fireman’s Association. He is preceded in death by two brothers Ralph (Lois) and Ted Hurlburt.

He is survived by his wife: Sue Ann (Smith) Hurlburt whom he married in 1967, a son: Todd Hurlburt of Perry, a brother: Clark (Shirley) Hurlburt of Gainesville, a sister: Joyce Martin of Perry, a sister-in-law: Charlotte Hurlburt of Perry, along with many nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services will be announced at a later date. He will be laid to rest in Glenwood Cemetery, Perry.

Stanley C. Odymala

Stacky was born in Perry, New York on March 28, 1929 a son of the late Walter and Anna (Krawczak) Odymala. Stacky served with the US Navy during the Korean Conflict. He was a graduate of Perry Central School and received his associate’s degree at RIT in Rochester. He retired from the Rochester Carpenters Union Local (85) 276 in Rochester. He was a member of the St. Isidore’s Catholic Parish (St. Joseph’s Church) in Perry. He was a member of Dom Polski’s, the Perry VFW, Perry Vets Club and the Silver Lake Sportsman’s Club.

He is survived by his wife Dolores Aaron Odymala whom he married on October 9, 1982, a step-daughter: Kelly (Richard) Cicero of Leicester, 4 step-sons: Douglas McClurg of Avon, Charles (Senia) McClurg of Clarksville, Tenn., Gregory (Anita Scott) McClurg of Perry and David (Lori) McClurg of Perry, along with 10 grandchildren.

Rosemary W. Kingsley (Wolf)

Brockport ~ Rosemary W. Kingsley, age 76, of The Landing, formerly of Chili, passed away Wednesday afternoon (Jan. 15, 2014) at Unity Hospital with her loving family at her side.

     Mrs. Kingsley was born Sept. 25, 1937 in Rochester, N.Y., a daughter of the late Raymond and Elsie (Webster) Wolf.

     She was a very active and dedicated member of many organizations which included the Grace Baptist Church of Brockport, Germana Rebekah Lodge #83, Pax Theta Rho #24, Ladies Patriarch Militant, and the Chili Fire Dept. Ladies Auxiliary.  She was also a retiree of Eastman Kodak.

     She is survived by her daughters, Dawn (Dale) Ehrhart of LeRoy and Laurali (Thomas) Waldmiller of Orlando, FL; grandchildren, Derek Tesch, Caitlin & Amie Waldmiller and Karl Ehrhart; her siblings, Shirley Gatti of Rochester, Gloria O'Mara of Albion, William (Susie) Wolf of Montgomery, AL, Cindy (Frank) Cape of North Port, FL, Carol (Tom) Durfee of Myakka City, FL, and Raymond C. Wolf of Clermont, FL, along with many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.  In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Robert L. Kingsley and a sister, Ellen Wolf.

     Friends may call on the family on Saturday, January 25, 2014 from 2 ~ 4 P.M. at the Grace Baptist Church of Brockport, 5220 Lake Road South (Rt. 19), Brockport, where services will be held at 4:00 P.M.  Interment will be in Machpelah Cemetery, LeRoy at the convenience of the family.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Grace Baptist Church.

George F. Henry

George F. Henry, 77 of Batavia, passed away on January 14, 2014 peacefully at his home. He was born on December 6, 1936 to the late Wilson (Eleanor Nagel) Henry. George worked at the State School for the Blind for many years.  He was a long standing member at the Calvary Baptist church in Batavia.  George enjoyed fishing, reading and playing Euchre. He is preceded in death by his wife Charlene (Kirk) Henry; two sisters, Patricia and Susan.   

Survivors include his children David (Dora) Henry of Stafford; Daughters Ruth Spedding of Lockport; Catherine (John) Newton of Kendall; sister Sharon Thompson of Watkins Glen.

Friends are invited to call on Friday January 17, 2014 from 4-7 PM at the Calvary Baptist Church located at 3515 Galloway Rd, Batavia, NY 14020. Funeral Services will be held 11:00AM Saturday January 18, 2014 at the Calvary Baptist Church. He will be laid to rest in the Calvary Baptist Cemetery.

MICHAEL G. SULLIVAN Age 77, former Batavia resident, died peacefully Tuesday morning December 24, 2013 at the Wayne Center in Wayne, PA. He was born March 25, 1936 in Batavia to the late Michael L. and Sara (Kane) Sullivan, also preceded in death by his first wife, Rosalie (Carlino) and his son, Kevin C. Sullivan.

   Family and friends are invited to attend a Celebration of Life Service 11:00 a.m. Saturday January 18, 2014 at the MICHAEL S. DALE D. RUMBLE SR.

DALE D. RUMBLE SR. Age 80, of Batavia, died peacefully Saturday morning January 11, 2014 at the Batavia VA Medical Center. He was born July 15, 1933 in Oakfield to the late Alfred and Amy (Howard) Rumble, also preceded in death by his brothers, Howard, Donald, Wayne, Robert & Kenneth.

   Mr. Rumble is a United States Army Veteran, retired from Chapin Manufacturing and was a member of City Church. He was an avid Buffalo Bills fan, clock collector, played 4,4,4 in the lotto, loved his cat, Sammie and watching his soap opera, The Young & the Restless. His family will remember how he was a friend to all and touched everyone he met.

   Mr. Rumble is survived by his wife of 55 years, Joan M. (Perkins) Rumble of Batavia; sons, Dale D. (Gloria) Rumble Jr. and Randy (Diana) Rumble both of Batavia; daughters, Teresa Rumble of Batavia, Barb Snyder of Oakfield and Michelle Wheatley of Batavia; sister, Glenda Klase of Oakfield; 15 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren  along with many nieces and nephews.

   Family and friends may visit from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday January 15, 2014 at the MICHAEL S. Cheryl Ann "Sherry" McCarthy Prevost Uberty

LeRoy ~ Cheryl Ann (Sherry) McCarthy Prevost Uberty, age 53, of Linwood Road, died at home on Friday (January 10, 2014).

     She was born July 4, 1960 in Rochester, NY.

      Mrs. Uberty is survived by her husband, Michael Uberty, her children, Melissa (David) Pschierer and Adam (Adrian) Prevost, her stepson, James Cropo (Meghan), her grandchildren, JennaRose, Alana, Jane, Eva, Eli, Jack and Abigail, her brother, Donald (April) McCarthy, along with many beloved family members, friends and her devoted Little Girl.

     A Celebration of Cheryl's Life will be held on Saturday, Jan. 18 from 1 ~ 3 P.M. at the Knights of Columbus Hall, 15 W. Main St., LeRoy.

Carol J. Gozdziak

Carol J. Gozdziak, 77 of Batavia, died Sunday morning, January 12, 2014 at the Genesee County Nursing Home. She was born July 5, 1936 in Barre, New York to the late John D. (Margaret White) Jacobs. Carol was retired from Maxpex Fibre Recycling in Medina and she also worked for many years as a home health aide. She used to sing and play guitar in a country western band with her late brother. She is preceded in death by her sons Thomas and Michael Horner, a daughter Sharon Horner. Brothers June Townsend and John Jacobs Jr., sisters Marjorie Narburgh, Haleda Reed and Onalee Hess.

Mrs. Gozdziak is survived by her children Kenneth (Kim) Horner of Georgia, Gary Rosenberg of Cheektowaga, Terry (A. Steven) Dick of Alexander and Debra Mucci of Ft. Wayne, IN;  11 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren along with several nieces and nephews.

Robert J. Hull

Robert was born in Smethport, PA. on January 23, 1925 a son of the late Robert L. and Vera Johnson Hull. Bob was a US Navy veteran who served on destroyer escorts from June 7, 1943 through February 28, 1946 in the South Atlantic and the Pacific. He graduated from Smethport High School in 1943 and received a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration from Upsala College in East Orange, New Jersey in 1950.

He worked as a tower operator for the Pennsylvania Railroad for two years and then went to work for the North Penn Co. in Port Allegany, where he worked for 33.5 years as an accountant. He also served as trustee, deacon, assistant treasurer, delegate to conference, on the board of administration, and usher in his past church ministry and was currently attending Rock Glen Baptist Church. He was an avid sports fan who enjoyed golfing, bowling, reading, landscaping, and especially enjoyed spending time with his family. He is preceded in death by a brother Howard Hull.

He is survived by his wife Elizabeth Sweet Tenglund Hull, whom he married on February 21, 1970, his sister Dorothy Hull of Niantic, CT., his brother Harold Hull of Dallas, TX., his step-daughter Janet (David) Phillips of Silver Springs, His step-son Gerald (Sue) Tenglund of Framingham, MA., 8 grandchildren, and 18 great grandchildren.

Family and friends may call from 12-1pm on Tuesday January 14th at the Rock Glen Baptist Church 4311 Rt.19 S in Silver Springs, where services will follow the visitation at 1pm. He will be laid to rest in Rosehill Cemetery in Smethport, PA.

LAWRENCE P. BROWN

LAWRENCE P. BROWN – Age 53, of Batavia died Wednesday evening January 8, 2014 at his home, following a long battle with MS. He was born July 17, 1960 in Buffalo, NY to Jack R. Brown of Williamsville and the late Loretta K. (Laney).

   Larry spent 4 years with the United States Marine Corps, serving as an MP (K-9 Unit). Following his service to our country, Larry was employed in the printing industry, having graduated from Erie Community College with a degree in computer science. He went on to engage in the manufacturing of various items at his business, "Creative Design" located in the Batavia Industrial Center.

   Surviving along with his father, are his siblings, Virginia of Syracuse, Mark (Sandra) of Canandaigua, Peter (Dianne) of Fredonia, Patrick (Maura) of Woodbridge, NJ, Scott (Jean Peca) of Batavia and Lindsey (E.J.) Martin of Braselton, GA; dear friend, Mary Ann Forgie of Batavia along with many nieces and nephews.

   Family and friends are invited to attend a Celebration of Larry's Life 11:00 a.m. Saturday February 15, 2014 at the Michael S. Walter W. Kolberg

Walter W. Kolberg, 78 of Attica, passed away on Tuesday, January 7, 2014 at Wyoming County Community Hospital. He was born August 13, 1935 in Auburn to the late William H. (Mary Ryan) Kolberg. Mr. Kolberg worked at Attica Garage for many years, the Village of Attica as a mechanic as well as the Town of Attica where he was a mechanic and plow operator. He was a member of the Attica Fire Department for many years as a fireman, Chief, treasurer and he was also a member of the Masons. He is preceded in death by his sisters Florence Wagner and Mary Hartrick.

Mr. Kolberg is survived by his wife Leona M. Kolberg of Attica; children  Paul (Jamie) Kolberg of Batavia; Sharie (Richard) Vlack of Elba; Daryl Kolberg of Attica; 4 grandchildren, Ryan and Alan Vlack; Alex and Cristina Kolberg.

There will be no prior calling hours. An 11:00 Funeral Service will take place on Saturday January 11, 2014 at Marley Funeral Home, LLC. 135 Main St. Attica, NY 14011. There will be a luncheon immediately following the service at the Trinity United Methodist Church 75 Main St. Attica, NY 14011.He will be laid to rest in Forest Hill Cemetery.

DOUGLAS A. SHEARER

DOUGLAS A. SHEARER – Age 68, of Medina, died peacefully Sunday morning January 4, 2014 at the Buffalo VA Medical Center. He was born August 8, 1945 in Niagara Falls, NY, to the late Albert A. and Lorraine (Waldraff-Kramarz) Shearer also preceded in death by his sister, Charlene "Cookie" Joy.

   Doug was a very proud veteran who served two tours of duty in the Vietnam War with the United States Air Force. In his younger years he enjoyed fishing, as he aged he enjoyed cooking, Nascar and his simple country life in Western New York. Doug will be remembered as a quiet man with a wonderful sense of humor and quick wit.

   Surviving is his sister, Phyllis Hess of Medina; brother, Lawrence (Jeanette) Kramarz of Byron along with many nieces, nephews and great-nieces and nephews.

   There is no prior visitation, funeral services and military honors will be held privately by the family.

Clara G. Mancuso

Rochester ~ Clara G. Mancuso, age 93, formerly of LeRoy, passed away early Friday morning, January 3, 2014 at the Episcopal Church Home in Rochester, where she had resided the last few years.

     Miss Mancuso was born February 21, 1920 in LeRoy, a daughter of the late George and Carrie Caccamise Mancuso.

     Friends are invited to attend her funeral service on Saturday, January 4, 2014 at 3 P.M. at the Falcone Family Funeral & Cremation Service Inc., 8700 Lake Road (Rt 19), LeRoy.  Interment will be in St. Francis Cemetery.
