Russell Charles Fugle, 52, of Woodruff, South Carolina, originally from Attica passed away on Sunday November 29, 2015.  Russ was the son of George “Burt” and Virginia A. (Kriger) Fugle. 

Russell was a Turf Technician with Elite Turf, Inc. in Greer, SC owned by his brother Jeff Fugle.  He loved to deer hunt and go fishing.  While living in South Carolina for many years, he also helped many people work on and around their homes.

In addition to his parents, Russ is survived by his brother Jeff (Shirley) Fugle, a nephew Evan Fugle and his family and a niece Carissa Fugle all of Duncan, SC; a son, Josh Kelsey and his mother Belinda of Alexander and family members Rena and Gene DeMay of Batavia along with aunts, uncles and cousins who also survive.

Ralph S. Cintorino, 91 of Byron and formerly of Batavia, passed away peacefully on Friday (December 11, 2015) at Crossroads House.

He was born in Batavia, NY on December 2, 1924, son of the late Anthony and Antoinette Risso Cintorino.

Mr. Cintorino was employed by Doehler-Jarvis Co. in Batavia prior to his retirement. He was an Army Veteran of WWII and was a recipient of the Purple Heart. He was also a Parishioner of Resurrection Parish.

Survivors include his wife of 67 years, Carmen Baglio Cintorino of Byron. Son and daughter in-law, John (Diane) Cintorino of Byron. Grandchildren, Melissa (Kurt) Wegener of Florida and Michael Cintorino of Batavia. Great-granddaughter, Kayla Wegener. Also survived by several nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his brothers, Andy, Joe, Pete, Nick, Benny and Sam Cintorino.

There will be no prior visitation. Family and friends are cordially invited to his Mass of Christian Burial,  Tuesday (Dec. 15^th), 12:00pm noon at Resurrection Parish, 303 E. Main St., Batavia. Burial with full military honors will be in St. Joseph Cemetery.

Oakfield - James B. Cassiano, 94, of Oakfield, a manager at Pfaudler, Inc., in Rochester, prior to his retirement, died Wednesday, December 9, 2015 at Genesee County Nursing Home, in Batavia.

Mr. Cassiano was born April 2, 1921 in Vancouver, BC, the son of the late Ercole and Jennie (Taddei) Cassiano.

He was a member of St. Padre Pio Parish and Oakfield Rod and Gun Club.  He enjoyed hunting and loved to walk.  He was an accomplished accordion player and taught many students at Roxy's Music Store.  He was the leader of a local orchestra called the Casanovians.

He is survived by his wife, Rose (Bovenzi) Cassiano, whom he married April 7, 1945; 3 sons, Coley J. (Meta) Cassiano of Summerfield, NC, Guy A. (Deborah) Cassiano of Oakfield and John (Dana) Cassiano of Orchard Park; a son-in-law, Patrick F. Reilly of East Aurora; a brother: Quito (Geraldine) Cassiano of Oakfield; 2 sisters, Josephine (Frank) Mosco of Batavia and Nancy (Angelo) Steffenella of LeRoy; 9 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.  

He was the father of the late Margaret Ann Reilly and brother of the late Nicholas (late wife Angeline) Cassano.

Byron - Randy L. Boyce, Sr., 58, of Byron, passed away on Monday, December 7, 2015 at United Memorial Medical Center, in Batavia.

Randy was born April 16, 1957 in Clearfield, Pennsylvania, a son of the late John Patchen and Mary Freeman Boyce.

A member of the Four Seasons Sportsman's Club in Elba, Randy loved spending time on his property on Pt. Peninsula, NY. He loved to fish, boat and hunt. A lover of animals, Randy will also be missed by his four legged companions, Frisco, Rascal and Sissy.

Randy lived life on his terms and lived each day to its' fullest. He will be remembered as the life of the party who loved telling jokes.

He is survived by his wife, Ellen L. Coveny Boyce, whom  he married May 16, 2009; his children, Randy L. (Jennifer) Boyce, Jr. of Alden and Joy Lynn Boyce of North Chili; four grandchildren, Mason Boyce, Perry Bethune, Jr., Dominic and Jonathon Bethune; brothers and sisters, Bill (Kay) Boyce of Massachusetts,  Carol (John) Dixon of Bradford, Pennsylvania, Peggy (Ronald) Porter of Clearfield, Pennsylvania, Kenneth (Pat) Boyce of Massachusetts, Robert (Margie) Boyce of Massachusetts, Marylou (Greg) Taylor of Byron and Rod (Bonnie) Boyce of Clearfield, Pennsylvania; three brothers-in-law, Douglas (Kathy) Coveny of Byron, Charles Coveny of Byron, and  Thomas (Marcey Crandall) Coveny of Batavia; his mother-in-law, Dorie Bater of Cape Vincent along with numerous nieces and nephews.

Randy is predeceased by his brothers, Donald and David Boyce and his nephew Carl Gilt, Jr.

Robert E. Doyle Jr. passed away peacefully at home in Knoxville, Tennessee on December 6, 2015. He was born December 21, 1929 in New York City. Robert was a devoted father, husband, and very successful Industrial Designer. He was a graduate of Pratt Institute in New York City, NY and remained as an active alumni throughout his professional career.
From the early 1950’s through the early 1960’s, he worked at International Harvester in Fort Wayne, IN and then Philco, Philadelphia, PA respectively.

In 1962, he worked at Sylvania in Batavia, NY as a designer and ultimately became the Head of Design of GTE Sylvania in Batavia from 1962 to 1981. Sylvania was purchased by Magnavox’s parent company, North American Phillips and moved its operations to Knoxville, Tennessee. Robert ultimately retired from Magnavox but remained active in the Industrial Design field right up unto the past year. One of his television designs of the late 1950’s, the Philco Predicta, is in the Smithsonian Institute’s Cooper Hewitt Museum.

Robert attended Saint Mary’s Catholic Church in Batavia, NY. Robert is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Georgia. Sister Sheila (Emil) Rohner of New Bern, NC, Sons, Joel (Paula) Doyle of Rochester, NY, Paul (Lee) Doyle of North Chili, NY, Mark (Suzanne) Doyle of Rutherfordton, NC, and grandchildren Sarah (Jim) Golden, Jordan Doyle, Matthew Doyle, Hannah Doyle, Katrina Doyle, Amanda Doyle and Audrey Doyle. He is predeceased by his son David (Annette) Doyle.

Judy Ann Fonda, 66, of Batavia passed away Saturday December 5, 2015 at her residence. She was born October 4, 1949 in Batavia, New York to Joseph Salvador of East Bethany and the late Florence (Sauter) Salvador.  

Judy watched hundreds of children including her grandchildren, and treated each child as if they were her own. She loved to collect bears and working outside in her flower gardens.

She is survived by her husband Donald J. Fonda Sr. of Batavia; sons Donald (Wendy) Fonda Jr. of Byron, Dwayne (Tina) Fonda of Batavia; daughter Julie Mullin of Batavia and grandchildren Donald (Amanda) Fonda III, Cameron Fonda, Katie Fonda, Dwayne Fonda Jr., Taler Fonda, Tate Fonda, Tieryn Fonda, Kailyn Mullin and David Mullin.

Therese A. Thompson, 71 of Batavia, passed away peacefully on Thursday (December 3, 2015) at Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester, NY.

She was born June 30, 1944 in Bellows Falls, VT, a daughter of the late Ernest and Dorothy Patch Frenette.

Therese was employed by Walmart in Batavia prior to her retirement. She enjoyed traveling to the casino, bingo, reading, vacationing to Vermont to visit family and friends and was an avid fan of the Boston Red Sox and New England Patriots. She was a member of Ascension Parish and will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

Survivors include her husband, Bernard J. Thompson of Batavia. Brother, Edward Frenette of St. Claire Shores, Michigan. Sister in-law, Virginia Frenette of Bellow Falls, Vermont. Nieces and nephews also survive.

She was the sister of the late Ernest Frenette Jr.

There will be no prior visitation. Funeral services will be private at the convenience of the family.

Gail M. Rehac, 74 of Akron, NY, passed away peacefully on Saturday (December 5, 2015) at Roswell Park Cancer Institute after a brief illness.

She was born October 20, 1941 in Buffalo, NY, a daughter of the late John and Geraldine Murray Colleran.

Gail and her late husband, Rick, were the proprietors of Gail & Rick’s Tavern in Akron. She enjoyed bowling, playing bingo and was a longtime fan of the Buffalo Bills. Gail was also a devoted wife, mother and grandmother and will be deeply missed by her family and the Akron community.

She was the wife of the late Fredrick “Rick” Rehac, who passed away in 1993 and sister of the late Sherry Fish.

Survivors include her children, Richard (Brenda) Rehac of Alden, Dawn (George) Emerling of Clarence, Kevin Rehac of Jersey City, NJ and Shawn Rehac of Akron, OH. Grandchildren, Molly Rehac, Daniel Rehac, Dustin Emerling, Laura Emerling, Katie Emerling and Kelsey Emerling. Brother, Ronald (Jeanne) Colleran of Hamburg. Also survived by nieces and nephews.

Batavia - John A. Orlando, 82, of Batavia, a District Sales Manager at Gannett Rochester Newspapers in Rochester, died Saturday, December 5, 2015 at New York State Veteran's Home, in Batavia.

Mr. Orlando was born April 13, 1933 in Batavia, the son of the late John G. and Marie (Kissell) Orlando.

He served in Korea with the US Air Force from 1954 to 1958.  He was a member of St. Mary's Church where he had served on the Altar Society.  He played tuba in various bands around the county and enjoyed cars and watching airplanes.  He had volunteered at St. Mary's School and had worked in auto and insurance sales in the past.

He is survived by his wife, Marilyn (Pratt) Orlando, whom he married August 11, 1962; 2 sons, Barry John (Ekaterina) Orlando of Painted Post and Robert Orlando of Caledonia; a daughter, Denise (Gary) Guiste of Chili, 5 grandchildren, Karissa Guiste, Steth Orlando, Devin Orlando, Nathan Orlando and  Austin Orlando; and several cousins.

Friends may call on Thursday from 10 to 11:30 a.m. H.E. Turner Funeral Home, 403 E. Mary R. Zimarino, 85, of Batavia passed away Friday December 4, 2015 at United Memorial Medical Center. She was born September 7, 1930 in Italy Hills Penn Yan, New York to the late Angelo (Mildred I. Dixon) Zimarino.

Mary was a graduate of Batavia High School and was employed by the Veterans Administration Hospital in Batavia for 35 years before retirement. She was also a member of St. Anthony’s Church. Mary enjoyed bowling and dancing in her early years and then bingo. She loved spending time with her lifelong friends and you could never see her not smiling and laughing. She will be missed by all.

She is survived by her two brothers Philip L. Zimarino of Plymouth, NC, Thomas F. (Victoria) Zimarino of Bradenton, Fl and sister Roseann (Zimarino) Goebert of Batavia along with several nieces and nephews.

LeRoy ~ Norman D. “Don” Ball, age 69, of Selden Road, tragically passed away at home Tuesday morning, Dec. 1, 2015.

     He was born July 12, 1946 in Batavia, a son of the late Norman and Nina Hale Ball.

     Don will be remembered by his family as a very caring and loving father, grandfather, brother and friend, who would do anything for anyone.  He was also a proud Vietnam Veteran, having served with the U.S. AirForce. 

     He is survived by his children, Cherie (Craig) Wessel of LeRoy, Jeanette Keating of Spencerport, Ryan Ball of LeRoy and Shawna (Ken) Geil of Spencerport; his sister, Carolyn (William) VanHouter of Rochester, his brother, Charles (Cindy) Ball of Churchville; seven grandchildren, along with several nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends.

The Honorable Glenn R. Morton, 81, of Batavia passed away Tuesday December 1, 2015 at United Memorial Medical Center. He was born on September 27, 1934 in Batavia to the late Russell and Anna (Rogan) Morton. He is preceded in death by his brother Russell Morton.

Glenn was a devoted husband and family man along with accomplishing so many things in his life and devoted a lot of his time and effort locally to many clubs and organizations in and around Western New York, most notably; Board of Directors for Genesee Community College (GCC) foundation, Board of Trustees for GCC, and instrumental in creating GCC’s College Village (student housing); former member of Genesee County Legislature; former Town of Batavia Supervisor; graduated National Trial Judges College at the University of Nevada; former Director of the YMCA; an officer of the Lion’s Club; a 4th Degree member of Knights of Columbus; a member of ABA, NYSBA, Genesee County Bar Association; Erie County Police and Judges Association; Genesee County Magistrates Association; Batavia Elks Club (former officer); Genesee Fish and Game Protective Association; the American Legion; Boy Scouts Council (former President); former Assistant District Attorney; United States Navy, J.A.G. Corps (Admiral’s Staff); Retired Supreme Court Justice; Genesee County Chamber of Commerce; at one time Glenn held all three court positions (County, Surrogates, and acting State Supreme); and belonged to the Holland Land Office Historical Society.

Glenn is survived by his loving wife Joyce (Attardi) Morton; children Glenn (Dana Rizzotto) Morton III of N. Tonawanda, Timothy-Jay Morton of Trnava, Slovakia and M. Rogan (Joseph Cardinal) Morton of Buffalo; sister Marilyn Morton of Plattsburgh; grandchildren Carly and Camden Cardinal and nieces Melissa Clark and Katherine Nicoletti.

Craig K. Gartley, 65, of Alexander passed away Tuesday December 1, 2015 peacefully at his home surrounded by his family. He was born December 15, 1949 in Warsaw to the late Kenneth and Helen (Gardner) Gartley.  

Craig's love for his family was unconditional. He will especially be missed by his beloved wife Chrissy who was his soul mate, and his rock. He adored his three daughters with all of his heart. Craig was known as Pa to his grandchildren, who he also cherished from the bottom of his heart. He loved watching wildlife and nature. Craig loved reading anything and everything, playing cards and drinking Schmidts. He will be missed by all who knew him, as he impacted anyone who crossed his path.

He is survived by his wife Christine (Adams) Gartley of Alexander; daughters Melissa (Chad) Valyear, Noelle (Nicholas) Gerlach, and Mariah Gartley all of Alexander; sisters Diane (Gary) Dean of Pavilion and Mary (John) Falcone of TN; brother Kenny Gartley of Chili; 5 grandchildren, Brian and Justin Valyear, Quinntin and Elainna Gerlach and Reese Smith along with many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his brother Gary Gartley and sister Sandy Bunnell.

John A. Bilodeau-Redeye, 63 of Basom, passed away unexpectedly on Friday (November 13, 2015) in Belen, New Mexico. 

He was born April 23, 1952 in San Francisco, CA, a son of the late Norma Poodry and Nicholas Redeye of Belen, NM. 

John was employed by New York State as a Peace Officer prior to his retirement and also worked at the T.P. Deli. He was president of the TIRCA Board and member of the Canadian Sledders Inc., Siberian Husky Club of Niagara Falls, the Seneca Siberian Husky Club and the co-owner of BiliRed Sled Dogs 

Survivors include his wife,Catherine Bilodeau-Redeye of Basom. Brother, Thomas Redeye of Spokane, WA. Step-sister, Sharon LeRoy. Nieces and nephews, Jonathan, Barbara, Melanie and Robin Redeye. 

He was the brother of the late Glenn Redeye.
