LeRoy ~ On Saturday, December 10, 2022, Stephen Paul Mancuso, loving father and grandfather, passed away peacefully in his home.  He was 67 years old. 

 

    Stephen was a lover of life and all of the chapters in it.  People were drawn to his passion and his charisma.  His house was an open door where family and friends could gather free from judgement.  He had strong beliefs and a curious mind.  He never stopped searching for the truths of his passions and was not afraid to share with anyone willing to lend a listening ear. 

     He cared greatly for his home and took pride in keeping it pristine.  He always had a project or a job to do, and there was no job that he could not do himself.  You could find him on a ladder, mowing the lawn, cutting down a tree, planting in one of his three gardens, braiding garlic in the barn, or walking barefoot underneath the pine trees. 

     Stephen loved cinema and was a sucker for a romantic comedy.  His favorite movie of all time was ‘It’s a Wonderful Life’.  He could re-watch movies over and over again and loved to show off his extensive movie collection. 

     He loved to travel and see the world from the seat of his Harley Davidson, but if you asked him, the biggest risk he ever took was not taking enough risks. 

     The last year of his life, he became a grandfather to Maverick Stephen Chatham.  He shared with all that this was his greatest gift.  He could not brag enough about the love he had for his grandson and his children.

     He is survived by children, Christina Chatham (Mancuso) and Matthew Mancuso; son-in-law, Shane Chatham; grandchild, Maverick Chatham; siblings, Lynn Rapone, Paul (Wendy) Mancuso and Gene (Melanie) Mancuso; nieces and nephews, Brandi Rapone, Heather Rapone, Emily Mancuso, Morgan Mancuso, Corey Mancuso, and Grace Mancuso.

     Stephen was preceded in death by his father, Eugene Paul Mancuso and his mother, Dale Ann (Dool) Mancuso.

     A memorial gathering celebrating Stephen’s life will be held on Thursday, December 22, 2022 from 2 – 5 PM at Falcone Family Funeral & Cremation Service Inc., 8700 Lake Steet Road, LeRoy, New York 14482.  At 5 PM family and friends are welcome to share stories about Stephen.

On December 15, 2022, Lyle H. Marsh Sr., passionate horseman and loving father of four children, passed away at the age of 81. Lyle was born on November 10, 1941 in Oswegatchie, New York to Roy and Mary (Haskins) Marsh. 

Introduced to horse racing at an early age, he dedicated his life to the profession and sport. Throughout much of his life he managed a stable of more than 20 horses, while simultaneously holding a full-time job with the Eastman Kodak Company in Rochester, New York as a welder and fabricator. 

He fathered four successful children; three children, Carla, Betty, and Hank with his first wife, Agnes Malady and later, one child, Anthony, with Karen Marini-Marsh.

Lyle’s passion was the horse business, and particularly, harness horse racing. He got his start as a teenager and maintained this great love throughout his life. This passion pushed him into every aspect of the business, finding success as an owner, trainer, and driver. He was also known as one of the best blacksmiths in the state. He was a lifetime member of both the United States Trotting Association and the Western New York Harness Horseman’s Association.

Lyle was preceded in death by his father, Roy, and his mother, Mary. Also, by his siblings, Wayne, Ronny, Lester, and Sylvia. He is survived by his four children, his wife, Karen, as well, his siblings, Wayde, Neil, Suzanne, Sharon, and Roy (Junior).

There will be no prior calling hours. A 1:30PM Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday December 18, 2022 at The City Church (St. Anthony’s site) 114 Liberty St. Batavia, NY 14020.  A Graveside Service will be held on at the Oswegatchie Cemetery around Independence Day. James E. Kryman, 83, of Batavia passed away peacefully on December 15, 2022 at his home. He was born on October 9, 1939 in Batavia to the late Albert and Orial (Bluman) Kryman. In addition to his parents, Jim is predeceased by twin grandsons; Brandon and Troy Sheeler.

During Jim’s 41 years at Chapin Manufacturing in Batavia, he enjoyed the golf and bowling leagues he was a part of. Even after he retired, Jim continued enjoying being on the golf course almost daily. He treasured his time with his family, especially during the holiday season. Jim’s three grandchildren were the light of his and Joan’s life.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 64 years; Joan (Caborn) Kryman of Batavia; daughter Traci (Mark) Sheeler of Alexander; 2 sisters Joyce and Judy; 3 grandchildren Tyler Sheeler of Batavia, Ryan Sheeler of Alexander and Megan Sheeler of Ft. Meade, Maryland.

  Dustin D. Clark, age 34, of Silver Springs, NY passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday December 14, 2022. He was born in Rochester, NY on February 17, 1988 a son to Kim A Clark of LeRoy and Cathy C. (Forrester) Caudill of Perry.

Dustin was a 2006 graduate of Perry High School. He was a mason for Baltz Concrete in Pavilion. He enjoyed playing disc golf, corn hole, bowling, riding his motorcycle and going on family vacations. His biggest joy was times spent with his fiancée Erica and their children Sutton and Miles and attending all of the family gatherings.

He is survived by parents Cathy C. (David) Caudill of Perry, Kim A. Clark of LeRoy, fiancée: Erica Granger of Silver Springs, children: Sutton and Miles Clark, Erica’s parents: David (Lisa) Granger of Silver Springs, maternal step grandmother: Pauline Forrester of Hume, Paternal grandparents Marge Clark of Gainesville, FL., and Daniel Clark of Venis Fl., sister: Tasha Clark of Chili, NY, half-sisters: Erica Clark of Warsaw, Tonya Schlenker of Bolivar and step-sister: Teresa Hoy of LeRoy, sister-in-law: Karen (Andrew) Inglis of Minoa, New York, nieces and nephews: Paige and Devin Inglis, Lilliana and JT Trzecieski and Tavis Lakin, along with many aunts, uncles and cousins.

  With loved ones by her side, Arlana Pathammavong, 39, of North Tonawanda, formerly of Batavia, passed away peacefully on December 13, 2022 at Millard Fillmore Suburban Hospital. She was born on September 8, 1983 in Batavia to the late Samlane Pathammavong and Diane (Wiedenhofer) Pathammavong of Brockport.

Not all of her loved ones were there to say goodbye, because one room, any room, could never hold the number of people who loved Arlana, much less all of the people who she shined her love upon during her time with us. Arlana, Lana, The Asian, Auntie Lana, The Ambassador of Happiness, A Fierce Warrior, A Legacy of Kindness, A Light, Sunshine… all of the nicknames which could be used to describe the living example of generosity, joy, kindness, positivity, light, caring, loyalty, and love - they all belong to her.  

Arlana was born to this world with a love to be shared. As she grew she learned to share her gift.  She left a lasting impression on everyone she crossed paths with.

Lana’s love left nothing unsaid. It needed no words - though words were often used. A handwritten note, soul-stirring text, a deep, soulful social-media post encouraging positivity and joy, a conversation over dinner (for which she often paid - much to the frustration of the guest), sharing her joy for simple pleasures such as fine wine, passionate food, sunsets, nature and moments… Arlana truly celebrated the beauty and preciousness of moments.

“I am on a journey to encourage people to be the best version of themselves possible,” - Arlana. The truth is, Lana, we all know that to be the best version of ourselves, we need to be more like you.  

In addition to her mother, Arlana is survived by her loving, devoted partner; Sarah Tsirtsakis and her 4 children who she loved and adored, as if they were her own; Niko, Alex, Kali and Mira; siblings Jason (Mary Ellen) Reardon of Batavia, Holley (John Giessler) Reardon of Batavia; Nong (Jason) Masters of AZ., Chanta (Florence) Sayphrarath of CA., and Joy (Frangelica) Sayphrarath, and their children, along with nieces and nephews James, Thomas, Sean, as well as her beloved dogs; Adelina and Kleo.

Louise G. Post, 91, of Elba, passed away on Thursday, December 15, 2022.  She is now at peace with our Savior and free from the bondage of a long journey with Alzheimer’s disease.

Louise was born April 15, 1931 in Alexander, a daughter of the late Harold and Joy (Wight) Goodman.

Louise was a charter member of the Elba Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary.  She was also a member of the Elba Presbyterian Church.  Louise loved her family, Christmas time, cooking, baking, reading and canning.  After her retirement from M & T Bank, she remained active in church, auxiliary and community activities while always being available for any and all of her family.

Surviving are her husband of 72 years, Kenneth Post; children, John (Cheryl Totten) Post, Daniel (Kim) Post, Marcia (Todd) White, Janet (Judd) Ewell and Laurie (Pete) Torpey; grandchildren, Jason (Stacy) Post, Kailynn (Kyle) Stacy, Jeffrey (Janette) Post, Joy (Rich) Brewer, Holly (Shawn) Stoneham, Megan (Will) Hoffman, Brad (Nicole) White, Elizabeth (Fred) Turner, Derek (Deanna) Torpey, Chelsey (James) Vacanti and Cody (Michayla) Torpey; eighteen great-grandchildren; a sister, Irene Johncox and several nieces and nephews.

James A. Burr “Burr Dog”, 65 of LeRoy, passed away suddenly on Saturday (December 10, 2022) at his residence.

He was born January 18, 1957 in Batavia, a son of the late Albert and Phoebe Babbage Burr.

James was an avid Grateful Dead-Head and loved the outdoors. He was thought of as a great man and was known as a giver and not a taker.

He is survived by his wife, Sharon Clark Burr, step-children, many friends and his beloved canine companion, Cody.

Judith A. Hughes, 67 of Akron, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday (December 13, 2022) at her residence.

She was born September 10, 1955 in Buffalo, NY, a daughter of the late Leonard and Myra (Nichols) Blair.

Judy was born into her family as the fourth child and first daughter to her parents.  She was a warm and loving person. She loved her son, Tommy and grandson, Derek with her whole heart. She loved all her nieces and nephews and grand nieces and nephews. She always wanted to hear what was going on in their lives. Family was always very important to her. 

Judy loved having people around her and she would give you the shirt off her back, if you needed it, even if it was detrimental to herself. Judy would take anyone in if they needed a warm place to stay.

Judy’s professional career was spent caregiving to others. People were drawn to her because of her opened heart. She trusted people to a fault.  She was far from perfect.  It was hard not to love her if you knew her. Judy will be so very much missed by all who loved her.

She is survivd by a son, Thomas Scott Hughes (Michelle) of Akron. Grandson, Derek Raymond of Alden. Sisters, Sandra (Joseph) Lina of Florida and Brenda Blair (Timothy) of Akron. Sisters in-law, Trudy Blair of Clarence and Terry Blair of Corfu. Also survived by several nieces and nephews.

She was the sister of the late Thomas, James and Gary Blair.

Mr. Strong was born June 11, 1957 in Alaska a son of the late Donald Strong and June Strong of Batavia.

LeRoy- Jessie Ann Loomis Clark, 82, died peacefully on Wednesday, December 14th, surrounded by the love of her family.

The times spent with family were the most important times to her. She will be missed by family and friends and remembered for her quick wit, many talents, beautiful smile, and for remembering every occasion with a greeting card or note.

She was a talented gardener and created beautiful, themed gardens all around her home.  She demonstrated her creativity in cooking (bread/roll maker supreme), sewing, crafting, and quilting and giving those items as gifts to family and friends. She was an avid reader, crossword puzzle expert, and a formidable Scrabble player. She loved traveling and was always up for an adventure - near or far. 

Survived by her companion of more than 40 years, Steven H. Spencer; her children, Lorrie (Robert) Clark-Hannan of Falls Church, Virginia, Guy (Patricia) Clark of Pavilion and, Rhett (Lisa) Clark Caledonia. 

Grandchildren Calder Hannan, Emma Hannan (Aditya Rajput), Caylin (Steve) Depuy, Adam Clark, Connor (fiancée Becca Sarge) Clark, Danielle (John) Whiting, Quentin (Colleen) Clark, and Olivia (Dan) Otto and 6 great grandchildren.

Also surviving her: sister Alice Stefani, brother Larry (Donna) Loomis, sister-in-laws Martha Loomis, VIrginia Smith, Joan Clark, brothers-in-law, Bill (Peggy) Clark, Scott (Madeline) Clark, and Steve’s children, Steve D.(Sue) Spencer, Sue (Roger) Gray, and Robin Spencer, many nieces, nephews and dear friends. 
Predeceased by her parents, Gaspard and Celia Loomis, brothers, Harry and Allen Loomis.

Kathryn A. Judge, 71 of Attica, passed away December 13, 2022. She was born September 16, 1951 in Buffalo, to the late Leonard Darlack Sr. and Loraine Darlack. She is predeceased by her son David Judge Jr. and sister Debbie Vega.

She graduated from GCC. Afterwards she worked for McDonald’s Bus Service for many years. She was kind, had a great sense of humor and loved everybody.

Kathryn is survived by her sons Joseph, Kurt Judge both of Attica and Christopher (Heidi) Judge of Akron, daughter Angel (Chad) McDonough of Tenesee, brother Leonard Darlack Jr. of Buffalo, grandchildren Grace, Olivia, Ashleigh, Cheyenne, Savannah, Tiffany, Cassandra and Kaitlyn, along with several nieces and nephews.

Lottie Starowicz (Wilkosz) of Batavia, New York passed away with her family by her side on December 12, 2022 at the age of 89.  She was born in Batavia on July 27, 1933 to father Leon Wilkosz and mother Bertha Wilkosz (Wrobel).  She lived in the same house she was born in for almost her entire life. Lottie was married to her husband, Paul Starowicz, for 67 years.  They had a long and happy life together. Paul passed away on January 10, 2022.  

Lottie was the youngest of three brothers (Leo, Stephen, and Edward), and two sisters (Ann Adamczyk and Helen Balonek). Lottie worked at the Batavia Daily News, and then at Jackson Elementary School as a lunch and teacher’s aide for over 20 years.  Her former students approached her in town for years after her retirement because of her kind and caring ways. She loved spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, and she appreciated the frequent and numerous visits with her several nieces and nephews. We will all cherish our memories of the fun times shared with Lottie and the way she made us all smile.

She is survived by children Gary (Deborah), James (Mary K), and Paul Jr. (Laura); grandchildren Sara (Brandon Doll), Becky, Kate, Lauren, Elizabeth, and Ryan; and great-grandchildren include Reece, Chloe, Thea, Reid, and Claire.

  Hazel Luce Parker, at the age of 99, has passed peacefully during the evening of December 10, 2022, under her family’s care at the home of her daughter in Perry.

Hazel was born September 1, 1923, in Johnsonburg, Town of Orangeville, Wyoming County, the daughter of Vern and Dorothy Gerhardt Luce. She graduated from Attica High School in 1941, followed many of the women during the years of WWII into the work world by studying business at RBI in Rochester and working for Eastman Kodak until 1948…working by day and playing on their softball team by night. But it was square dancing, back in Wyoming County, that brought her and her future husband, Fletcher Parker (of Perry), together and they were married on her birthday in 1948. That launched her into her lifelong career as a dedicated homemaker, wife, and mother of seven children. Her dedication to the task was unmatched. During the nineteen-fifties, sixties, and seventies she was 24/7 a cook, seamstress, teacher, busing organizer, school and church activities promoter and supporter, etc. Hazel made sure the family was cared for, their responsibilities were taken care of, and the entire family was fully participating in school, church, and community activities. School sports and musical events attended must have numbered into the thousands as she and Fletcher watched their children and grandchildren all participate continually. Hazel embraced the role of getting seven children educated…from the earliest Sunday school and music lessons through all seven achieving at least a bachelor’s degree. She enjoyed the work…but it wasn’t all work. She enjoyed a game of Euchre with family and friends as often as possible…and for over 50 years she looked forward to her twice-a-month evenings with her eight Bridge playing friends.

Hazel is pre-deceased by her father in 1980 and mother in 1992, and her elder brother Frederick, and younger sisters Margaret Chamberlain and Zora Cox. She is also pre-deceased by daughter Lucinda A. Parker, in May of 2021 and an infant grandson, Andrew Spence Parker in 1974.

Her brother Ray Luce and sister Norma Luce survive as do her children Eric (Peggy) Parker of Perry; Laurie (Howard is deceased) Hartley of Spring, Texas; Kristin (Brian) Cox of Perry; Calvin Parker of Perry; Beth (Sarah Fogler) Parker of Guelph, Ontario, Canada; and Brian (Kathy) Parker of Wyoming, NY. Her seventeen grandchildren are Nathan (Tammy) Parker (Trumansburg), Erin (Frank Stewart) Parker (Bozeman, MT), Rachel (Thomas) Parker (Woodbridge, VA); Matthew Hartley, (Spring, TX), Margo Hartley; Timothy (Ashley) Cox (Daniel Island, SC), Meghan (William) Hayes (Churchville), Gregory (Vivian Lim) Cox (Singapore), Wesley (Becky) Cox (Scottsville), Eliza Cox; Leah (Hunter) Wooster, William Parker, Jan Lawrence Parker; Parker Fogler (Victoria, BC), Calvin Fogler (Santa Clara, CA); Haley (Tyler Eagleton) Parker (Boston, MA), and Abigail Parker. Seventeen great-grandchildren are Tess (Hunter Ford) Parker (Boise, ID), Annalee and Elias Parker (both Trumansburg); Lily, Lucas, and Jonah Parker (all Woodbridge); Annabelle Shutter-Hartley (Spring); Warren, Henry, and Abraham Cox (all Daniel Island); and Fletcher, Dorothy, Russell, and Peter Hayes (all Churchville); Dawn Cox (Singapore); Athalia and Everett Cox (both Scottsville).

Hazel taught service and lived service. She was very much self-sacrificing. She was a member of the Brick Presbyterian Church and served as a deacon starting in 1965. Her interest in her church and unmatched ability to cook and sew meant she was a critical behind-the-scenes master of making church dinners and craft bazaars successful. She learned her sewing skills at home from her mother, but her expectations of herself to be the best led to her winning a national sewing contest, with an automobile as the top prize, with a dress made for one of her children. Those skills also made Hazel an incredible resource for our local and Wyoming County 4-H programs. She led a 4-H club, the Peppy Perryettes, and dozens of children, for decades and served on the county advisory committees from the early 1960s until just a few years ago, nearly 60 years of dedication to that organization.

  Terri J. Kloiber, 71 of Colden, passed away peacefully at Premier Genesee Center on Monday, December 12, 2022. She was born December 15, 1950 in Annapolis, MD to the late Harvey and Natalie (Brunell) Mann. She is preceded in death by her husband, Gary R. Kloiber and a granddaughter, Jordyn Fisher.

Terri began her career on the line at Fisher Price and worked her way up to Senior Logistics Manager before she retired. She was a Colden Town Councilwoman for many years. Terri was a quiet, shy, intelligent woman that enjoyed reading and her home. She was an amazing mother and grandmother.

She is survived by her beloved daughters, Shannon (Steven) Campagna of Batavia, Casey (John) Kuhn of Erie, PA, Joett Nye, siblings, Kim (Larry) Boyd of Avon, Harvey “Skip” (Karen) Mann Jr of Marilla, 6 grandchildren, Tim, Jamie Nye, Connie Campagna, Carl, Robbie and Nate Kuhn, one great-grandchild, Jacey, along with many nieces and nephews.

  Stephan A. Reisdorf, 74 of Pavilion, NY, passed away Saturday, December 10, 2022 at Premier Genesee in Batavia.  He was born on February 21, 1948 in Batavia to the late Aloysius J. Reisdorf and Florence B. (nee George).  In addition to his parents, Stephan was predeceased by his wife, Elizabeth J. Reisdorf.

Stephan was an employee of George’s Dairy, the family business from age 14 until it closed then worked for Plattens Agricultural Service, Buckleys, and Carolina Eastern Crockers for many years.  He was an agricultural consultant and sales person, loved the outdoors, competitive shooting, and traveling in Puerto Rico, the islands and cities in the south.

He is survived by his sisters; Donna M. Flood (James D.) of Clarence, Mary Ann Sandgarten (Michael) of Lago Vista, Texas, and sisters-in-law; Leslie (Jeffrey) Hutchinson of Canandaigua and Cindy Barnowski of Florida, along with many nieces and nephews.

Friends and family are invited to attend visitation on Saturday, January 14, 2023 from 11:00AM-1:00PM at Gilmartin Funeral Home & Cremation Company, Inc. 329-333 Main Street Batavia, NY 14020.  A 1:00 PM Funeral Service will be held immediately following the visitation at the Funeral Home.  Stephan will be laid to rest in Maple Lawn Cemetery in Elba.
